  • Cont, My Girlfriend is from the outskirts of Tondo She has told me a white man walking down the street is a "Rich American" doesn't matter where he is from And if he isn't with someone that they know he will be robbed Beat and or killed Many poor kids end up in gangs even some of them end up getting recruited to go to the south Islands funded by al-Qaeda. Hitler made a country of poor and hungury into a fighting force. and if these people keep getting pushed down they will fight back

  • Not that good?! The NPA is sometimes more effective than our corrupt army and police.

  • One can point-out problems aytwhere, any time. Naples Italy 4 example has a terrible rubbish problem, London has a terrible rich-poor divide & Berlin (where I live) has terrible employment conditions ... This series focuses on highlighting problems (social, economic, environmental, whatever) of the places it shows AND contrasts these with the beauty of of place ... If you watch carefully, you will also see beauty highlighted here ... But definitely the camera does not lie ...

  • @RuniTravel Most other Countries don't have Korea or china shipping in raw garbage into Tondo, Manila. And have there poor standing at the docks waiting to pick threw it measly few pesos. Children as young as 3 years old roam the mountain along side their mothers and fathers helping to supplement the family’s income While the Goverment makes the money from it The USA says nothing because of there military status may change (Philippines is a tactical spot for Asian defence role )

  • Dammit Catholics! Stop having so many babies!

  • Dont get me started on how much the BBC mispronounces names like Aquino,Binay or Macapagal or how much they butcher filipino words like tita,tito,bagyo,pag-asa,lechon etc.they cant even get the names of places right like baguio city,ilo-ilo, or even cebu

  • sometimes i get sick of BBC's subjective, biased reporting i remember when they were covering election related violence during 2010 and they act as if its the end of Phil. democracy and that the elections would be a bust. also they did a piece on fil. seafarers and they treat the seamen as min. wage workers similar to household help when flips have already been into sailing prior to colonialization.there is some truth to what they say but sometimes i feel they're outsiders just looking in

  • grandmother of bling!

  • what BBC says are absolutely true. It may hurt us but that what we are.

  • not even paris hilton can outnumber imelda marcos shoes!

  • @mykheesam > It is a bit of a strange Fetish ... I'd rather see her supporting her people ...

it seems one pair of shoes alone could feed a family for a year ...

But like all rich people she will have to hold account with her Maker ... What did Jesus say ? "It is asier for a Camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man (person) to enter the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:23) ... but also Matthew 7:01 (Judging Others) ... "Do not Judge, or you too will be judged..." Thanks, Runi

  • @RuniTravel -- I bet Queen Elizabeth, the Tsars or any other Rich individuals will be held accountable to GOD for their thievery against the poor people then huh?

  • @marumito > LOL ... Doesn't seem to work that way ... but even though impovirished myself here in Berlin, Germany I do encounter a miracle or two while the rest are totally blind to it ... Thanks !

  • this is true for philippines... our country is going through a lot but filipino's never surrender to hardships. what makes us different from other country is that we have a great sense of humor. whatever difficulties we go through we will find something to smile about it then we know we will get by... its more fun in the philippines!

  • WE FILIPINOS ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO ALLOW THIS DOCUMENTARY TO BE FILMED...THIS IS NOT ABOUT "TRAVEL"...ASSHOLES!!!!

  • @T700Sony > Sorry, for me its Travel & nothing more..l I grew-up in Peru, Arabia (UAE 1977) & Ghana in West Africa.. I grew-up surrounded by Political, Economic & Social Problems. I consider them part of life. If I see a documentary on the Philipinnes & both Rich (Imilda Marcos) & poor (Cemetary people), I take it in my sride. Its part of the experience. But you are right, BBC is quick to show the problems of other Countries & none at home.. All you need to do is film Britain alike . I'll post

  • @T700Sony Tony, please don’t say “We Filipinos…” because not all Filipinos share your point of view. Why cringe about how this documentary is presented? It’s the truth about our country. Why should we give the world a flashy facade of our country when there are really awkward truths… etc.? At least through this, when tourists come to our country, they come prepared with these sceneries and realities…

  • @T700Sony I’m guessing that the way you define travel is staying in glitzy hotel, frolicking in nice swimming pools and beaches, but oblivious of what’s truly happening around. If that’s the way you see it, you will be missing a lot of the gist of what travel is...

  • @T700Sony this is educational. WHY most filipinos cover up the other side of the truth. This is simply heartbreaking and a video to learn and maybe people could find ways to make life better.

  • 987 bill they'd be the richest people on earth period

  • 987Billion DOLLARS Ho MY GOD......

  • Mrs Marcos is still very beautiful :)

  • She is one of the most richest lady in the world 8:01

  • @carlusdarienus > guess so , in any event formidably rich ....

  • I like how he comments about Imelda..... '' She's still alive..''

  • @king00Nino00James00 ... Yeah, He''s a good presenter & Imelda must have known this... Still, I wish Imelda could give me just one of her many millions, so I can build a Healing Hub for the Planet & the People BEFORE she wastes it on some tunnel...

  • @king00Nino00James00 Imelda is perfect example of the person who was misguided and blinded by money hungry capitalism and political power to manipulate people to bring her money$.

  • @king00Nino00James00 you misheard his comment... it was "she's still a lion" not alive... he compared her to a lion in a statement before that....

  • @semimicro > forget the effort ... I've been uploading vids for years & if I learnt anything, its that people see & hear what they want ... Then the page gets grounded... It can be fun... Thanks, Runi

  • @MartinKimuel Ramos is corrupt.. a crony of Marcos and he betrayed marcos in the end and went on to dupport cory aquino to save his life! and in year 2001 he helped topple president erap from office and became a crony again of the worst president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo now Glroai is arrested for election fraud .. she is now under arrest !!! I dont trust the politics in the philippines anymore!!! but Philippines and Filipino people are the best of course!!

  • ching chong i am mighty man from china with beeg dick

how much does me cost to have an own fabric for shoes with kids?

    kung pao teriaki

  • She's obviously delusional yet still a thief along with her family, relatives and cronies who have once again regained their footing and power. I no longer blame these corrupt thieves, I blame the Filipinos for being stupid, cowards and gullible. I most especially blame her maids for not pushing Imelda from the balcony.

That's the Filipino, ever so idiotic, forgiving, star struck and easily intimidated glorifying the very people who make them live in poverty.

    PHILIPPINES, HOPELESS

  • @1818JoseRizal1898 well, yeah.. hopeless. Have you ever heard of the saying "Don't judge something as a whole because there might be something better with its parts" yeah most Filipinos are stupid but not all....specially those people who has educational attainment. So you're not right to say we are all stuck in poverty. Some people are rich bitch. HAHA and they mostly migrate to other countries and leave Philippines. Hehe...then they come back and have a good life. They tried, that's why...;))

  • If the Philippines didn't unattached themselves from the Americans back in the day, Philippines wouldn't have been one of the world's most beautiful and most visited tourist spots .... n Manila would have been better

  • @puddingfacexp is it true that the americas asked the phillipines to be a US state?

  • @farooqmm1987 not sure but philippines WAS american territory i believe

  • @farooqmm1987

Yes, they did ask the United States did ask also Okinawa Japan also asked to be part of the United States.

  • @MartinKimuel > anyone who collects thousands of shoes but does not walk a single mile cannot be taken seriously...

  • I have seen that political and military figures are reluctant to admit something in front of the local media. Yet, when they are being interviewed by foreign news organizations they seem to just unintentionally spill things out. That is one good example of how we improperly use the English grammar.

  • i have a suggestion, please relocate the poor back in the provinces most of them have no jobs, have no houses. you can have many jobs in the provinces and the food is so cheap because you can plant the in your backyard. the more people in the province the bigger the schools and hospitals in there, and manila will have lower crime rate, lower pollution and lower traffic, please share this idea for someone to realize.

  • How dumb Filipinos are. How could they forget and forgive so quickly. That recent wedding of Senator Miriam Santiago attended by whose in who in Politics and government is an example of arrogance and uncaring. Taxpayers money was partly used in that gathering. Noynoy and his cohorts are no different to marcos cronies.

  • @pmr2564 > Bah ... I could say the same of US Citizens ... I remember the fervor back in 2008 when Obama was elected, and now all I see in the news is is a population doing just about anything to impede him from doing the very things that he was elected for ... How dumb is that ? Its just a condition called "Media over-Saturation" ... Too much too fast... Thanks for watching & commenting, cheers, Runi

  • Study the history with care my dear!U don't know what are you talking about. The Marcoses had taken all the gold including the Yamashita treasures. Do u know what is the role of PANAMIN?I am from Mindanao, and we have knowledge what is happening around the country. If you are only from Luzon area, so sorry for you. The Marcoses had all the wealth that the Central Bank of the Philippines in his time. Wake up dear.CAREFUL OF YOUR DIRTY MOUTH!Ignorant Filipinos will end to nothing but ashes=ahmed UAE

  • imelda marcos is such a bimbo..if the marcoses are indeed true in serving the country, they should have lived a simple life and not boast their wealth. yes, they are rich b4 marcos was president but how come, they accumulated money more than the entire present revenue of the country?the country was once hailed as tiger of asia, second to japan but it plummeted into pits when macapagal started this loaning from the world bank thing, followed by this corrupt lady who damaged her husband..

  • i think the title is not apt with how they presented the documentary.to explore is to dig into things,to research, the place in totality.in this docu only tackles social issues that is only part nd parcel of wAT THE PLACE IS ALL ABOUT..its no explorationin d real sense of the word.they should've laid the good and bad things abt philippnes not just the ugly facets that would misinform people from other nations.i think this is somekinda under research

  • Marcos maybe corrupt in his time but damn he was the best President in the Philippines and no one can top him until now. Infrastructure was one of his priorities and the economy was booming back then and Philippines was one of the richest counties in Asia not to mention people were disciplined and productive. It's just a big shame that the officials and people who put him down were nothing but a bunch of hypocrites! Even worse and 100x corrupt, cruel and irresponsible!

  • @nikkijaneallison True that dude, and today we have more trouble to come now that a dumbass is running the country

  • @nikkijaneallison Yes, what we lack is discipline ...what is the purpose of being a free country if the people living there is poor and experiencing cruel reality? NO PURPOSE. So it's better to be dictated for a change and success than to be treated like trash. But yeah, some people are wise, so they are...they don't have economic problems at all. HAHA

  • @nikkijaneallison you are ignorant and a fool. My father left the Philippines because of his corruption.

  • @arose4yu > Thanks for comment ... I'm sure you meant that your dad left his country because of "This Corruption" and NOT because of "His Corruption" ... Would just like to clarify this typo... Or you really meant "his" Corruption? but then pls clarify whose corruption (at least for an outsider like me) ... Ramos?, Marcos? Someone else or all?

  • wow mama mary made is pearls 4:33

  • cant believe majority of the population seems to have "forgiven" the atrocities of the marcoses! awful!

  • @TheArtkaw like it or not, he greatly improved the infrastructure of the Philippines.

  • am i the only one having the problem of typing things in the comment boxes coz it won't show the cursor?? hard to edit what you type.

  • @mrdabbleswithpotion > Even harder to type what you edit ... Thanks for Comment

  • i love how simon is very, very balance in his journalism (at least on the most controversial ones). most western reporters would simply scoff the allegations that the marcoses probably used the philippine treasury as a cache and say, "those are just unfounded finger pointing made by bumbling bureaucrats in a country that didn't have money in the first place".

simon was more hinting the possibility of accusations to be true just as much as the fact that there was no direct evidence for it.

  • you could really see the humongous difference of the poor and the rich here. bad!!!

  • those people almust crushing each other reminds me of the Hogmanay New Year Countdown in Edinburgh....lol
