Sounds like the audio came through a mixer. The mic input has a built in preamp so hit it easy with a mixer. You can hear 4 vids (so far) done with the Zi8 and an $80 AT Pro24CM at my page. The Black And White vid was filmed with Panasonic cameras.
Played the Marlboro game all summer, won an RCA EZ1000 for the effort. It was such a piece of crap I didnt open the box. Just started looking for reviews and examples of Zi8 captures. Thanks for the video.
in the blue light, the face recognition feature gave the video a real club feel darkening the black behind the people instead of how in some other camera's the black becomes a fuzzy white could like smoke
this camera looks great, and im probably going to buy it but comparing it to a 1500 camcorder is a large stretch. it has a lot of nice features, but the quality is limited to it's poor one cmos sensor system. i have an hg20 that records 1920x1080, and it looks slightly better, and handles better in low light.
