May I use this video in a Fantasmic project? I want a good quality audience reaction, one where I can hear everyone, but not clearly. This is by far the best such quality. I promise I'll give credit.
whats this? your maleficent is evolving (evolving music) your maleficent evolved into murphy! A wild mickey appeared what shall murphy do? murphy used fire it had no effect. mickey used sword of wisdom its super effctive murphy fainted
This is one of only two, or maybe three videos from this particular show with indistinct audience reaction, that is, not being able to tell one person's words over the other, and all distinct reaction being very faint.
Holy shit my sister and i went in December and had no idea there was a new dragon and we almost peed our pants it's terrifying!!!!!!!!! O_o We were crying "Jesus save us!!!"
Oh my god, this video gives me chills! I'm so proud to be a Disneyland fan, especially when I see how much support and love the crowd gave to the performers/staff for the dragon's first performance. Did they announce that the new dragon was out? Or was everyone on DragonTracker's twitter? Amazing video!
yea the old one was kewl in the way that u cudnt really see all of it and it kinda let u imagine wut it lookd like whereas this one is way more defined. correct me if im wrong but i think this one breathes fire in a longer range lol
Yea, the old dragon moved a lot more fluidly. But I think it's compensated for the higher range of motion in this dragon's neck. I think it's really refreshing to actually see the dragon looking down at Mickey and rearing it's head back after it gets zapped.
Also, I noticed that the new dragon has moving eyelids! This added a whole new dimension to its character. The dragon looked more evil with it's eyes squinted, and the death scene looked better when its eyes fully opened in pain.
That dragon is sick, but they should really do something about the arms though, they are just stiff. If they made it so the arms could move it would be more realistic. Plus have its body move or something besides its head.
To be fair, the body does move a little when she looks at Mickey (but it isn't much). They get this pose from Sleeping Beauty. In the movie the dragon is holding onto those turrets at one point during the "Maleficent and Prince Philip scene".
But moving hands would be nice. I'm still hoping they have the dragon actually light the river on fire, but I'm not holding my breath.
It looks pretty good, but like Mamatiki I enjoyed the flowing movement of the old one. It was a little more impressionistic, but cool in an arty way. :)
yeah but they are extending fantasmic until the end of the year because the dragon didn't appear at all during the summer and so disney wants everyone to have an opportunity to see the dragon. They are also going to after 2009 is over drain the rivers of america to clean it out and stuff and to change the water of course
Yeah, i just went a couple weeks ago to Disneyland and saw the dragon during the holiday season. It was my first time seeing it without no notice to a new one, so it scared the shit out of my sister and i!
I hope it's just the resolution online, but it's looking a lot like an inflatable lawn decoration. The old (puppet-style) dragon moved MUCH more fluidly. I shall reserve judgement until I see it live...
You have got to be kidding me. Whooptee shit. The thing barely moved, didn't intimidate or entertain. The only cool thing was the electric patterns running down it's body when it died. No pyro. Originally the head was supposed to bend down to water lever and swoop across the river. All that time and YAWN!
They are being careful with the dragon. Since Fantasmic! is now weekends only, they got Mon-Thur to tweak it. It should be doing what it should in a few months.

Wasn't the old dragon a balloon one or something like the snake Ka also in the Fantasmic show?
WhiteLioness100 2 years ago
@WhiteLioness100 It was a head on a long pole with draped fabric over it.
