I did have a rattle but it's sorted now....the camera i recorded this on picks up on some noise and made it sound alot worse than it was. It was valve clearances in the end! I have since sold the bike and built the 350 flat tracker (other video). Thats for sale at the mo so i can get on with another project! Great fun old bikes are you know!
Regarding the front end, Its all standard except for the lowering and the paint. See the early CB's were really attractive. I'm running a superdream 400 ('84) at the moment to give me chance to do up my '71 cb350!
the front is a little lower due to the forks being lifted through the yolks a bit to allow the clip ons to be fitted and the tyres are different which had an effect but they are sweet little bikes. sadly i sold this one but i have a 350 which i'm working on which will be just as nice when its done.
it was fine handleing wise to be honest but the forks would bottom out as they lost some travel and had more weight over the front. The biggest problem i had was the cafe racer position played havoc with my elbows!
thanks, i soaked it for a week in petrol! that shifted any old oil and luckly the old oil had preserved the chain a treat.

Cool project, very nicely done. I like the front too, the fork looks a bit like a Jawa, how did you do that?

Did lowering the forks affect the handling significantly? And, I'm looking forward to your upcoming project.
