  • Will it eventually burn all the way through the bowl?

  • My problem is that the tobacco burns out.. What does that mean?

  • Bloody hell. I'd love to put some of my Rhino/Blueberry mix in there for you. Pity that!

  • @MAD9711 i recommend sumac

  • this is great. truly

  • After I make mine could I possibly shellack the outside of it as long as I don't touch the bowl or mouthpiece and also what woods are toxic that i should stay away from, I live in rhode island and we have alot of forest and trees If I took a branch from any old tree would I be good?

  • @MAD9711 my recommendation is Ash.

  • I'll need a pipe soon. Great instructions.

  • you look like a old train...much smoke..no offense im joking :))

  • Should the wood be dead or alive?

  • is there anything other than tobacco you can smoke?

  • @puttz2 Maybe ;)

  • what do you smoke in there

  • omg just buy it its fking 5$

  • lol...nice

  • Dam sir what are you smoking out of that no way tobacco would produce such thick smoke so quickly.

  • @TobaccoOnFire im guessing he picked up some leaves and crushed em up n smoked em? JK lol use your brain who would use so much effort all for shitty tobacco when they could just buy a $5 pipe haha :)

-NOTHING IN THIS COMMENT WAS MEANT TO BE TOKEN OFFENSIVELY!

  • How bear grills would smoke.

  • @TobaccoOnFire

    He'd smoke in a hotel.

  • Holy shit! Its stoner Bear Grylls!!!!

  • Hi, I was wondering if there is any precautions to choosing wood for whittling to make pipes, spoons, etc. I know that some woods are considered toxic but I'm not sure if this means I need to learn to identify all different types of trees for safety reasons before I start learning bushcraft. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • @HandsomeSasquatch pine for one,and yes research as you said would be your best way forward..cheers..

  • @wolfbushcraft is pine good or bad to use?

  • @246mitch i wouldnt reccommend it,it gives of a very acrid burn

  • @HandsomeSasquatch I've used Apple wood before, it's tasty like smoking from an apple, and one of the hardest woods, quite flame retardant and heavy duty. Not toxic either.

  • @HandsomeSasquatch

No, you luckily don't need to start your learning curve at the expert level. You can study any tree that's suitable for crafting whatever you want to make, learning how to recognize it, and wether or not it has any toxic lookalikes. In wich case you need to be able to positively identify theese as well. And there's your tree to start out with. Among bushmen "learning by doing" has always been the creed, so just get going!

  • @HandsomeSasquatch Pines including yew, Apple wood, Cherry and others are very toxic... Stick with soft non toxic woods like tulip or sassafras.

  • peace from mississippi

  • i would hav left the stem longer instead of worrien about portability just my opinion

  • what are you smoking? bush?

  • @randomweather kush

  • just buy a god damn dremel!

  • 2 things

1.) you drilled the bowl (i dont remember the name of it right now)

2.) dont cut towords yourself, if you slip at all you'll get hurt (duh)

  • what knife is that you use int he beginning

  • @enjoiorange its a leuku.

  • Nice one mate but the thing with elder wood is that is so soft so it taste shit even when the bowl is burned out. I've made a few pipes with lilac for the bowl, much better with a hard wood for both taste and duration. /Nic.

  • @findingusernamesux11 yes there is some after taste..i plan to use a birch burl in the future..

  • what i love about these vidoes, is that its ALL NATURAL!

  • The background music sounds like Turok: Rage Wars on the N64 lol

  • you're a good smoker

  • you are freaking nice

  • I would have liked to have seen you utilise objects found in the woods mate. If I'm in the bush, I will not have access to a drill bit.

  • nice.

  • you sould be careful hand drilling with a drill bit, i sliced up my thumb):

  • subbed last night and have been watching through your vids - brilliant .

thank you for sharing your knowledge .

on with the rest now ...

  • looks like a volcano when you smoke it cos the tobacco and sparks fly out

    really nice project

    its inspiring

  • I bet she's a harch burn is she mate!

  • @TheWaggaBloke a bit rugged..

  • i love how u are using native american music, yet u arent making a pipe like they did.

  • holy shit your puffin like a god damn freight train lol

  • gr8 stuff m8 keep em comin

  • huge bowl and stem looks kind of silly, but nice job anyways.

  • I like his knife..:D

  • nice job.

  • Yeah, tobacco's good, but I really do prefer something with a bit more 'kick' to help me mellow out

    Cheers, mate, good vid!.

  • hmm... I asked myself what's the point of me smoking tobacco.. and I come to the conclusion if I try to quit a lot of people will die. for peoples sake I shouldn't quit. this is the point of smoking tobacco

  • if I don't smoke it makes me want to stab people 30 times then scalp them for asking me what the point of it is or why don't you quit. that is the majestic power of tobacco

  • this wasnt as good as your first pipe

  • because it doesnt screw you over

  • tabaco gives u a buzz. and chills you out. i smoke both.

  • For all you *tobacco* smokers out there, ask yourself this. "if it doesn't get you high, what's the point?".

  • what breed is your dog?

  • man i wanna make one of those.. but imma smoke ma weed from it

  • what in the hell that pipe is a beast hahaha

  • Thanks for making this video and for your other videos, very helpful. Easier then hoppin in the car and driving to the store buy one!

  • so do u have to use elder? we have a lot of salmon berry wood here and its pithy can i use that?

  • Can you try a bush bong? :D

  • @gimpyoot How the hell woul that work the watter would just be soaked up in the wood...

  • notice the bottom of the bowl to, it's drilled, and the knife use, cringeworthy, smoking dehydrates you so no bushman would encourage others to smoke, it's not bush craft, it's whitling... what is it he's smoking LOL.. what ya smoke is choice enjoy but don't cut ya self in the process ey

  • driling with your knife id realllly bad for the blade.

  • i was cringing the whole time, not only is he fucking up his knife, but one slip and then he's just made a bushcraft pipe of his hand HAHA

  • From what wood is it made of?

    Thanks!

  • elder

  • tobbaco, no matter were you get it can still cuase cancer i think, its not that great for you, even if it is natural. marijuana is much much better!!!!

  • ... ANY type of smoke inhaled in high concentrations will mess you up. But a little bit is ok...

  • does pipe tabaco contain any harmfull stuff like cigarettes do?

  • kinda most cigaret shit is in filters grow your own tobaco

  • so can you get like pure tabaco like the stuff the natives used to grow

  • Yeah but , Much much less, Cigarette companies abuse nicotine levels in cigarettes to get you hooked, mariuana does not contain nicotine , it contains THC which is not an addictive substance in the end it's smoke. Mary J Saved My Life.

  • That's all shit marijuana is addictive, I was hooked on the stuff for 9 years it took me three atempts to get off it.

  • that was probably when your parents told you to take your lousy ass out from theirs house, am I right?

  • oh shut up douche cannabis is not addictive, it is people like you that makes cannabis illegal in this country

  • @0iluvdonkeys0

I guarantee you never had a chemical addiction to cannabis. Behavioral addictions are another thing, but that's not the plant's fault, that's yours.

  • @0iluvdonkeys0

you weren't hooked on it for 9 years cuz of the pot

it was cuz your an idiot .

  • you have to be a very weak minded person to get addicted to marijuana! i would tell people you were addicted if i was you! all your doing is showing everyone how weak you are!

ive been smoking it for 10 years and i often take long breaks, up to 6 months! too bad for you that you dont have any self control!

  • woooord man. these motherfuckers in school talk like they need it to survive. it's sad really.

  • ya sadly. its the actuall tobacco that has the bad things like nicotine which get you hooked, not the paper for the cigs.

though weed on the other hand... =D

  • i dont smoke i was just wondering

  • it;s still tobacco, so yes

  • would that work with Manitoba maple?

  • lol my ol fella used to use the heated rod method too

  • I wouldn't be only smoking tabacco in it

  • Is that a Leuku? If so where did you get it?

  • Don't get mad. The people who smoke choose to smoke. If they want to smoke it is their health not yours.

  • @turtleman173 Really, raw tobaco leaves are healthier than cigarettes, but marijuana is the healthiest of the choices when it comes to smoking

  • do you think many people are actually going to take the time to build a pipe? Most people who see this and smoke are just going to stick to their cigarettes haha.

  • im stickin to good old marijuana with absoloutley no tobacco in the mix

  • Nice idea... but how long will this pipe last until you can't smoke it any longer?

    Cheers

    Lars

  • you burn the tobbaco not the wood..

  • @wolfbushcraft dude as we all know and i thikn u do, wood also burns and this goes to ur lungs, its a very good idea, but its not healthy at all, just get an apple and drill some holes and smoke de weed outta this...... best option is to use GLASS or BONG !!! great idea though as I said, but unfriendly to ur lungs!

  • @wolfbushcraft u would burn the wood too, especially if its that easy to burn and carve.... means its a terrible pipe-making material. i would rather use river clay, and that stuff is pretty rank.

  • Comment removed

  • @wolfbushcraft yeah but it will fill with tar eventually

  • @larshermanns Lars my friend, if I understand your question correctly.... Well, you have to honey treat it if you plan on using it for more than a few times, otherwise you'll just burn a hole in it.

  • truly sweet improvising and a great pipe for practical situation,,,thanks for sharing

    cheers

    ahmad

  • Grimbo,

Is this the same as elderberry or box elder or what?

    Thanks,

    PMZ

  • its elder beryry not box elder...any pithy wood will do,ash stems were used by american native people..grimbo

  • can any type of branch be used to make the pipe

  • i recommend a soft pith wood its easier to hollow out,ash is traditional...

  • is there any branch in florida that you recommend using

  • i dont know florida,i live in the uk..thanks

  • shumake works it has green berries in the spring and in summer all through winter it will have brown and red from being dried it would work and in red and brown stages shumake works for a great tea that has many flavors as it cools

  • great idea. Also you can make a lemonade type drink from the berries.

  • is tht elder wood quite common in britain then, im from britain see, well wales nd i want to try making pipe, could you explain what it looks like or even send me a picture of it. mtaylor_61@ msn com

  • elder is so common,in the summer it has masses of white flowers which u can smell a mile away, and in the autumn masses of dark red berries, its more of a shrubby looking tree...just google it..thanks grimbo.

  • that must be a really soft wood

  • elder is a hard wood, but it has alot of pith.

  • a nice bowl for use in a burrow *g*

  • not as long as a walnut burl or any burl, but it will see out a few smokes..

  • Nice! How well does elder last as a bowl?

  • good video.
