i have this cd. some great songs on it. 1:55 to 2:30 is just dope. love this routine. it really captures the essence of the dance with music. son music from cuba afterall is the basic to everything we call salsa today. some people who dance dont realize that salsa is just a marketing term started in new york and not a specific rhythm. real son music just grows on you inside the soul people.

Me gustaría aportar una opinión Profesional y aclarales algunas típicidades de un ritmo genuino de mi ciudad Santiago de Cuba, El Son, baile popular enmarcado en un síncopa sin igual, con un sonido en sus claves al golpe del 3 - 2, no así en la rumba original del occidente, con un golpe en sus claves de 2 - 3, lo que hace que ésta pareja bailen correctamente entrando en sus contratiempos junto al bajo y disfruten con sentimiento, lo que ejecutan.

i am certainly no expert but it is my favorite to dance, so sensual and such an easy feel. if you can dance chachacha, this is the timing of the steps in son, except on the chachacha you rest and dont move the feet. 2/3 chachacha 2/3 chachacha with rest on the chachacha(4+1), so you start the same way one would start with chachacha. boogalu has some really great videos from cuba on the dance and other authentic, social dances. if i am wrong here, please correct me,have fun dancing.

En el son se pisa en el 4 (junto con el bajo, y junto con el tercer tiempo en el parte '3' del clave). Despues de marcar se pausa un tiempo mientras se levanta un poquito en el pie que esta atras. Como variación se puede bailar solo en los tiempos 4 y 2. En el son son todo pasa en el 4, hasta mirarse en los ojos.
