I have a little bit of American Indian heritage whose ancestors have suffered horribly from the spanish / mexican conquests in the name of the roman catholic church, and have hard time feeling sorry for Irish people who want independence from the u.k. when the don't even give a fuck about being independent from an ancient roman dictator. So we are in fact more Irish as most of my friends and I communicate in Irish Gaelic, drink in Irish owned/run/managed establishments in NYC. We shelter Irish refugees in our neighborhoods (who are fleeing British persecution in Ireland) and most of our families are all Irish/American.
