@rangerrecon100: from an technical point of view the sideways movement is kinda impossible... that would be really bumpy and you would scratch the cannons at the sides...so that second there has to be cgi... still looks cool though

I don't think it is practical to put engines inside the wheel I mean you never know when you will have a flat tire.

Repair? You replace the foam.

just like in the tires they use in rally driving nowadays... there's a foam inside the tire, it helps in bottoming out incase of puncture. less damage to the rim, the foam inside will act as a cusion preventing running flat it stays round at least. until the driver could manage to bring the car to the next check point. but there are some cases the driver / navigator didnt know they suffered a puncture. only by the time they cross the finish line..

If it ever reached a consumer level, they would have to work that issue out. Interchangeable outer hub/wheel could be an option. There's almost always a way around something.
