If you call Toll Personnel ask for Ivan. he is the Operations manager a great guy.
Mario Driving school his name is Robert he is the owner. If you really want WA you can't stay in a dead end job limiting your experience to one truck. and try to live onsite or do the Fly in Fly out program because if you rent you'll be putting you wage back into rent. the rent in WA next to mining sites has increased marginally.
If you have had your HR more than a year you can do one of 2 things. Firstly DECA in Minchinbury 'DECA direct 1300 36 5400' can help you get your B double straight from your HR ( i don't advice that) or you can ask them to get the HC or a friend of mine runs his own training school called Mario driving school in Fairfield he can train you in HC and asses you at the same time. if you become interested i can ask him to give you a good rate. 02 9726 8617
I'll make a call to a friend of mine in Perth who is the boss of Freight -Link, see if he may be able to open any doors for you.
Other wise if your looking at broadening you experience and ability call some agencies like Toll Personnel and ask them to place you in companies like Toll Express, you will almost all their trucks and they're not afraid to place you in the bigger rigs. this is how i got my first start and now because of my experience and lic i can land a JOB any ware.
Im looking for work in WA as a dump truck driver / future road train driver, i have a HR licence. Im single able to be in WA in 3 weeks, ive been a plasterer for 22 years and want a change and experience as a driver. any tips?
nein, im driving a small truck in Sydney, If you don't have a Dad or a mate its hard get any experience in bigger trucks, although i'll get there eventually.
Experience makes a lot of difference. I have a Road-Train lic, was going to WA in 07. I learned alot about the mining industry. On ACA, one couple, still with BHP working the Dump truck.
Both of them were trained by BHP, given a competency recognition/licence from which neither had any experience driving a vehicle larger than a car. They were Husband and wife from Melbourne. Their start wage was 80K-100K, 3 years on I imagine they're earning a lot more. if u need heads up reply. :)
Yep need heads up, I have a HR licence, good driving abilities , can work 12 hour shifts, am hard working and motivated and want to become an MC driver, if there's a chance of work i can be in WA in about 3 weeks ( its just me ), only thing is i don't smoke, drink or anything.
Hi mate if you want to call Jo-ann in WA she works for an agency ready work force. I mentioned you and they are will to see what you know to find out whether they can fit you in the mines. 08 6380 7777
