I was introduced to this at a concert in Rouen in 1983.
WE were near the back of the crowd, but the wave of silence that flowed over the audience was palpable.
The growing intensity was breath-taking.
It took me a few weeks to realise that she'd reworked a Dylan song. Reworked it to great effect, as well. If nothing else every word she sings is clear - something Dylan couldn't manage in 1960 and hasn't improved since.

There is a live version on Tout Simplement Nana vol 1. It's sung before a responsive audience, and lasts over nine minutes. Just one more astounding performance by Nana.

Could you tell me where you got this particular recording of Le Ciel est Noir. The only one I've been able to find is on Mouskouri's 32-CD set, but I think this
particular recording is better.

It comes from a french collection called "Le 50 plus belles chansons de Nana Mouskouri" it is a studio version recorded in 2005 or 2007...

I have 3-4 versions of this including her studio version released about a year ago; but the best one is a 9 minute live performance on a French CD. I don't recall the Title but It's song #17 on that particular CD. This is my favorite song with Les Anges des Mexique #2. Favorite English song is The Power of Love.
