No one is barring the NYPD and NYFD from going to the memorial location, they just can't get a reserved seat. The people who are "invited" to the 9/11 memorial are the FAMILIES of the VICTIMS who died that day (INCLUDING all the families of NYPD and NYFD responders). Due to "lack of room", they simply can't accomadate all the co-workers of NYPD and NYFD without turning away family members. Having "pride" in your department doesn't earn you the right to box-out a mother or father etc.

so true and so unfair. especially for the Long Island fire fighters, since they are volunteer. they are always there to respond and save lives, no matter the adversity. they do it w/o pay. they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. and to repay them this way is grossly wrong. they sacrificed their lives. many suffer from terminal illness, others have nightmares till this day from what they have seen. so, let's honor them.

Great video, but this is a slap in our EMS providers face, Fire, EMS, Search and rescue, let the politions have a seat. What did they do that day and days that followed. Did they cry for the loss of a friend, did they carry out the bodies of the comrads and your family members, did they even tell the truth as to the toxicity of the area,the answer is No. Let the politics go and show face on another day, make this a day for those who help without thought of their own danger to themselves.
