    POLAND

  • Great video

    I love Montana

  • sick

  • Very well edited video man, musta been beautiful up there!

  • rednecks rule,damn yankeees

  • this is a very peaceful video

  • I think this is one of the nicest vidoes on youtube. When I watch it, my worries melt away and I imagine being in the wilderness, enjoying nature, fishing. I have the album that the second song is from - pls could you tell me what the first song is. Thanks for posting.

  • how did you get the pictures of the fish under water

  • Great country and great fishin, thanks.

  • This is the stuff fishermen dream about. 5 Stars!!! And subscribed.

  • very nice video...thx for sharing ^^

  • Awesome video Bear tooths are an awesome mountain range and I wasn't into fly fishing when I went there.

  • cant stand fishing in lakes myself, always forget the mosquito repellent, and i moved to the silver valley in north idaho (only a 30 min drive to montana) about 4 years ago from california and i understand completely why people up here dont like californians, people up here are so mutch nicer, see how many random people wave hi to you in your town if you live in california or a place like it, its easy to adapt up here

  • I used to hate it too but I hear you on the people up there I grew up in NJ and NY and to go from there to the Bozone is total night and day!! I wouldnt trade it for the world!!!

  • Congratulations, a nice vd with excellent clips!!!

  • born in phillipsburg mt. now im gillette wyoming i miss it

  • What do you use to protect yourself from the Griz that wander those parts?

  • Great vid! Who does the great 12-string action in the background?

  • 1st cut is Bruce BecVar playing "Blue Ridge" - the next tune is Pat Metheny

  • Thank you!

  • Born and raised in great falls mt. Let me clear all this up. We HATE out of staters that ACT like out of staters. Quite a few peeps i've met have come here and hit the ground running because they fit right in and blended in. Most "out of staters" have a snobby attitude that they know this or that better and want to change stuff,...and or do it their way. General consensus says then if u want it the old way go the F back to where u came from. If u have grit and are honestly good. You'll be golden

  • Totally its the same as Alaska in that respect. Mind your business shut up and fish with etiquette. You have to respect the locals and why try and change it to suit you. You dont go around stepping on toes. Its a place that can break you, you have to be a certain breed to live up there.

  • People who come here from out of state who come to montana and bring ther new ideas to the table. But why change Montana its the last best Place

Without change ther is no grouth..

    Montana Native...

  • Montana is a pretty place but the state of Montana actually dislikes out of state people in a big way. It is it very very true. They will smile to your face and talk a lot of trash about you behind your back if they you are from "Out of state" as they call it. It is a real misnomer that people from Montana are "Real good people". Be careful there if you visit. To the guy that put together this vdeo, great job. I am just being honest about my experinces there. Sorry if it sounds negative.

  • I moved to montana from out of state a few years back and had similiar experiences. You just gotta buck up and let em know you aint gonna take any shit. So let me correct your error. The people of montana are real good people and some dislike out of staters mostly cause city folk are dicks.

  • about ht eboat that u were using, does it keep ur legs under water

  • yes. We wear light-weight waders. Actually a tube is not necessary to reach most of the fish which are near shore.

  • ok so i used to live in mt and there were these series of 3 or 4 alpine lakes one of which had a damn are these those lakes? umm i forgot the name i think one was called something like emerald lake...but what is the name of this lake it looks familiar

  • when I was small I thought fly fishing is when you tie a fly on your line and let it land in the water as it flys then the fish jump and eat it then it hangs onto the line then you pull it back.

I was such an idiot :P

  • Not so much of an idiot as you think. This technique is called dabbing. Usually u use a mayfly but terestrials work too.

  • very nice and soothing video, good job. looked you guy's had the whole thing to yourselves!

  • u guys are SOOOOOO lucky

wish i could do that, i'd be there all the time 5/5

  • If i could have my life anyway i wanted then i would pack my bags and all my fishing gear and head to the back country of Montana and just live there.

Great Video very relaxing nice job!

  • cool video

anyone who is interested in learning more about fly fishing may also find the book "Fly Fishing for Dummies" useful. it explains how to identify the best fish to fly fish, how to improve your catch and release techniques how to choose the right rod, reel, and gear to land the fish you are after etc

    [replace (.) with .]

  • Nice trout guys!

  • What do you guys use for bear protection in these parts?

  • Not a problem as long as you keep food suspended from a tree away from your tent. Never had a bear problem. Mosquitoes - now that was a problem.

  • This video reminds me of the backpacking trips that I have taken over the Pioneer Mountains in Southwest Montana. What a great state.

  • The which ones, west or the east pioneers?

  • The west pioneers, we usually start at birch creek and end up in the grasshopper valley.

  • That's a beautiful area been there myself. I don't live far from there.

  • Montana is pure Beauty!

  • I live in Hamilton, MONTANA!

  • We're almost neighbors.

  • Thank You. Had a hard day at work, and watching this vid gives me hope. Helps me to keep things in perspective. Spring is coming, and the fish will still be there.

  • Great video! Very beatiful, serene lake. Can't wait for next spring:)

  • im hrny =X. if ne1 wants 2 chat just msg me. my messenger id is in profile. B

  • I caught a big ( 7 lb) Brown trout in the Clark`s Fork. I was using 6 lb test. Browns like to try to break off under the bank. I ran my hand down the line until I found her. Just as I hauled the hen in,4 men floated by. They had been dropping caddis and salmon flies all day and catching nothing. I felt sorry for them ---nightcrawlers,grasshoppers, crickets, and hatched flies work well. Hey! Whatever works!! Especially when you are hungry.

  • sounds like a tree hugger fish story, ace

  • yah i tend to agree with cerealchiller the clark fork is pretty disgusting... and if you want to catch some fish that are good for eating go get yourself some stocked brookies or rainbows in the lakes and leave the big boys in the river where they belong

  • Salmo Trutta Fario Rulez!!! lol

  • Great footage. Very relaxing. Good form....

  • Fine. Anyway, that buoy....that's just ridiculous....Better to stand ashore and fish like a man.

  • Comment removed

  • How much space would it take to pack one into the wilderness areas?

I usually just fish from the bank. I can't fit any more gear because I usually take a daypack.

But I've always wanted to use a float tube to get to those hidden or hard to reach good fishing spots.

  • Float tube is not really needed - bank fishing is fine. Use a #16 Adams - they loved it.

  • We would probably not bother taking a float tube again as casting from shore was good enough.

  • bouy, lol

  • as KBrazza14 said; this video is very relaxing.

    5 stars!

  • I've been there for a whole summer. The fishing around Cooke City is unreal, and beautiful.

  • Kewl vid!

    That's good.

  • wish there were places like that in pennsylvania we just have the pocanoes..

  • verry nice

    thank you

    this vid is soooo relaxing

  • its nice that you give directions!in here, estonia, trouthunters keep their secret places to the end!

  • fly fishing very nice...,but spinning better I think...

  • No self respecting trout should be caught by a spinner

  • hahahah right on!!!!!

  • this is great please make more

  • Your video is Awesome.

  • hey amazing boat.ı am from notrh anatolia and we cant find that kind of big fish in our rivers.countdown to extinction.one thing that ı admire to west culture is to save the balance of the nature!if you throw a dynamite to a river you acnt leave any fish to the next generation ,right?ı only can fish in the black sea.you are really lucky !thx for the video...

  • nice. great video.

its so pretty to see the trout going up to catch the fly

    thanks

  • I was very lucky to be so close. I used a polarizing filter on my camera to cut through the glare on the water.

  • Tight lines from a fisherman in Norway. Love this, lovely shots oft eh fish swimming and on the take. As one of my favourite books "A River Runs Through It" was written around that area, I really want to come and shoot on of my programmes there soon, so thanks for the directions on how to get there.

In Norway they say "Skitt Fiske" which translates as s**t fishing but theres nothing s**t about it!

  • yaaaawwwwnnn.... the music makes u want to fall asleep

  • I can't remember the songs on the video (I made it about 3 years ago). Sorry.

  • The first cut is Bruce Becvar playing "Blue Ridge" off the "Take it to Heart" cd. I am pretty sure the second cut is Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden playing "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" from the "Beyond the Missouri Sky" cd. Great shots of the risers.

  • Who did the music for this? I love the guitar.

  • The Beartooths are my favorite mountain range... Care to tell which lake you were fishing?

    Woderfully compiled video... Thanks.

  • Rock Island Lake out of Cooke City. Thanks for your comments.
