by visiting those shows and events, you hold them alive. stop visiting those andvents, cant you see what happens behind the wall? those beautiful, young, strong and lovely animals are injured so bad, but the men killed them just after a while. why? and how, how can you look one of those animals in their pretty eyes again? now their eyes are filled with horror, fearfulness. what do we do to those animal, which are send from god, like we are. we should respect them, how we respect each other. now
also, how are we to know there was no vet on site. maybe a vet saw the animals inside, maybe they were treated then put in trailer, maybe they were euthanized then put in trailer. There are a lot of maybes in this video that you portray as the absolute truths, I see you have to approve of my post before it is put on here so I guess we will see if my maybe's can be seen by the rest of your viewers, just as yours are portrayed in the video.
@jayna15 Vet, treated, euthanized. Your own words demonstrating animal injuries. Whether or not you want to believe our 'views', you yourself admitted animal injuries.
Okay, I don't support steer roping because i do think it is cruel. I do however attend bull riding events. I Like how you like quoting others and then speculate on the rest to fill in pieces you know nothing about. If you don't have proof don't put ideas in peoples heads. Ok animals were put into the trailer, which you have no video of so how do we know you telling the truth. also how do we know the animals aren't already dead.
i appreciate your videos. i never heard of steer busting before now. even if most animals end up without a broken or other gruesome obvious injury, they still get hurt. and i dont beleive they do get veterinary care. they should be responsible for their animals. me and my horses do hard work, but i dont throw them away if they get hurt.
why dont you city people find something that is some what useful to bitch and complain about, like too many cars on your city streets. this is the most baised report i have ever seen in my life . i really do hate rodeo beleave it or not. next you are going to tell us eating meat is even cruel. the only good thing i can say about your report is that you were very polite when trying to interveiw anybody but you need to live in the real world for a little while.
raisingkane1985: In the real world, rodeo is abusing animals. If you can't see that from what these animals are going through in the video, regardless of the commentary you call biased, then there's nothing more we can say to each other.
Between part 1 and 2 of this vid i have read at least 4 comments saying that these cows get food, water, 500 acres, blah blah blah. So that makes it ok to beat the shit out of them? Fine, by that logic then forced prostitution is ok. If you dont care for the girls then guys wont want to fuck them. Actually pedophilia is ok in most cases too. They give them food, water and shelter. And while were at it, let's legalize murder and all throw poop at each other!
Ummm If you aren't supposed to have camera's there then why didn't you get kicked out for that??? Im glad they put trucks in the way you guys shouldn't be back there and you should respect that right! So you claim to be good people why don't you respect the rules???
Mr. shark first of all Lea county is pronounced (LEE) county not Leah county. Are you from New Mexico? Do you understand the traditions and heritage from this state? I would like to see more homework done before commenting on the states or its govenor's business. I would like to see you be more objective you seem to be on the outside looking in. Take the time to look at another point-of-view other than your own.
I have been riding horses & rodeoing for 36 years. This event that you filmed is called Steer Stopping. I have never seen this event in all the rodeos I have been to over the years. I know for a fact that the PRCA holds this event seperate from the 'regular' rodeos. I am appalled by this kind of treatment that goes on 'behind closed doors' & I believe it should be stopped. IMO, this paticular event should be banned from rodeo & the stock contractors should be held accountable.
We have a small rodeo in our town, and I've never seen this type of neglectful behavior there. I honestly think that when you get into larger cities, you start facing these problems. The young steers we use here actually wear protective gear to prevent rope burns, etc, and roping horses aren't allowed to 'tug' the horse off it's feet, they have to run along side it. As far as vets go, I know we have one because I help him out during the rodeo.
KUDOS and Heartfelt appreciation to the organization S.H.A.R.K for all the diligent hard work you have been doing consistently over the years.
The Rodeo world is one filled with Hate, Abuse, Torture, Ignorance, the rodeo maffia, The riders who want to make a "MACHO Name" for themselves by breaking the backs, legs and necks of baby calves. S H A R K, Keep up the "Fine Fight For Those Who Are Not Able'. I know you will NEVER back down from these subhumans!!!
Wow and I thought that liberals were bad!!! You should really get over yourself and see how all of these animals live when the stock contractors give them all a break. 500 plus acres to roam around on and not being bothered other than by bugs and you people! If you are wondering I RODEO and love it! If someone tries to protest at any of our rodeos and you are going to have some pissed off people. Get a life that is an actual one not some fact dumbass one!
RopnChamp: So you are saying that because you supposedly allow these animals to hang out on 500 acres, you should be allowed to abuse them? What a deal! The facts is that these animals spend a great deal of their "off time" in transit, often in filthy double-decker trailers.
Is the second to the last sentence a threat against those who use their 1st Amendment right to free speech? Do you have any idea whatsoever about what the American flag stands for?
Some men beat up their wives but it must be ok because they apologise & buy them flowers afterwards to make up for it. It's ok to be cruel and abusive if you give the survivors a week off every now and then (by your reasoning anyway). Tell that to the Family Court judge and see how far you get.
Protecting animals from abuse IS a life, and a meaningful one at that. In contrast, tormenting, abusing, and injuring animals for fun (as you do in rodeos) is NOT a life - it's a selfish excuse for boosting your own ego at the expense of others. This is actually a sign of sickness, and in all seriousness, you need therapy. With the help of a qualified mental health professional, you can be healed - and maybe even become a great hero for animals like ex-hunter Steve Hindi has!
I am so proud of this group how it conducts themselves when filming undercover. You are polite, you keep your cool, you put your information out there about the reality of this. The people who don't want to help or cover things up...admit there guilt right then and there. If they didn't they would not have any problem with you filming. Good work.
good work shark. if there was anything i could do in australia i would, but i dont think we have redeo's ? i would love to drive the tiger around for you tho :P love your work man. keep it up
downrightsly: Actually you do have rodeos in Australia, and there are some YouTube videos. If you do a search you should find them, and you could then contact the people working to stop cruelty there.
Do you guys really have nothing better 2 do than make other peoples lives miserable? basically it is steer ROPING not busting if you are going to "expose" it dont be a peice of shit and 'hide' and dont be a dumb ass and get your language right! way 2 be a good person. It is you who will be judged in the end for trying to make other peoples lives miserable it is STEER ROPING! and it is a way of life, u dont like it, dont watch it dip shit
jetkj01: Aside from the cruelty, it is really pitiful that you people, who claim to be all about tradition, don't even know your own recent history. What is now steer roping used to be called steer busting. Then it was renamed steer tripping. Now it is renamed steer roping. Just like calf roping was renamed tie down roping. Does that mean that now you rope "tie-downs?" No, you still rope calves, but you try to make it sound less cruelty and cowardly then it is.
Back the fuck off!!! The cattle at in rodeo are often better taken care then the person themselves. If you have ever noticed, there is always food and water in front of them! Last time I checked, that is not abuse. Those animals are strong and were put on this earth for me to rope them!!! But, they also get the proper shots to keep them from getting diseases and grain to keep their muscle tone! Honestly go check out the rodeo grounds after the rodeo, I guarantee the animals in proper care!!!!!
jetkj01: So you believe that if you give them food, water and medical care, then they can be clothes-lined, body-slammed, dragged by the neck, injured, etc.? That's what you believe?
Even more incredible, you are apparently claiming that God put them here for that very reason. Sorry, but there's a serious disconnect with reality here.
YOU PEOPLE ARE SO GODDAMN STUPID I work on a ranch and the reason I FUCKING ROPE IN THE FIRST PLACE is so i can give dewormers like ivomach. The rodeo tests how good these people are at taking care of cattle!!
Don't you have anything better to do than torment animals? I notice that the pro rodeo people who reply to these videos don't even try to defend the way these animals are treated, is that because they know they can't?
Wow, glad I never supported Richardson.. And how you handled the situations - Brilliant! Full support on you. The part that annoys me though is their "copyright" crap - You don't copyright property, and if rodeos were so friendly WHY have a private area in the first place?! Stupid rodeos..
Oh my gosh..Stupid people. What a lame excuse: "This is a copyrighted area." What? You can't "copyright" an area. Good going, Steve. You're always so calm. Keep it up. We'll bust these lunatics.
There is no lie in these videos. Although i do not make them, but it is all true. i have done many assignments for school on Bullfighting and Rodeos. I did that because i wanted to make others aware of this DISGUSTING sport.I just wish that people would wake up and realise what they are doing to these poor animals, i am also so glad and would like to thank you (Shark) hugely for trying to stop this. Only if there were more people like you in the world!
I think the viewers that flagged Part 1 are the responsible ones that can't stand the finger pointing to their lifestyle of animal abuse. Keep up the excellent coverage Shark!!
gemtek: The videos are certainly having an effect. We are just getting warmed up. Corporate sponsors would be well served to get out now, but with corruption there is arrogance, so for those companies we have a healthy dose of public exposure coming down. Are you listening Dodge?
mrclamp01: We're so glad you asked. The film was pulled by YouTube because of its graphic nature. What the means is that YouTube is determining rodeos to be so cruel that some it can't even be shown.
