Wow, somebody told me this girl talk bullshit was going to be good. What a fucking idiot I now think that person is. Look we took some popular jingles of the past and combined them with some shitty rap of more recent years, isn't that creative......no, it's stupid as shit. This is something a cheesy commercial producer would put together. Beyond gay.
@smithersandburns you're an idiot if you think this guy is an idiot. why don't you try and make a song from sampling? it's hard. he spends so much time listening to different tracks and figuring out what sounds good together. he's obviously doing something right if he's put out multiple albums and people like it. it's not supposed to be some new sound you've never heard before. it's supposed to be fun. you are honestly the first person i've ever come across that doesn't like girl talk.
@darkpop29 Spending time doing something doesn't mean it will be good.
He's only doing something right as far as selling crap. A lot of people like a lot of dumb bullshit. Look at all the crap that is popular.
If this is fun to you and the kids you hang out with then ok. But understand (eventually at least) that it's dumb fun. It's like thinking a soap opera is great acting or having fun reading tabloid journalism.

@darkpop29 And what is really disgusting to me about this girl talk crap is that they take two very famous songs that everyone already liked and combine them together if they have the same beat as if that's some kind of magic trick. That is so unbelievably lame an non creative. The masses have already pre-approved both songs let's put them together and pretend I did something....vomit. At least rappers would have a sample you never heard really until then and add original beats and vocals.
@smithersandburns I can see what you mean if you were referring to any other mashup artist in terms of throwing 2 tracks together (though it's not THAT simple) and in that respect i guess it's not the most creative thing in the world but did you listen to this? he must've crammed bits of at least 50 different songs into a 5 minute track and managed to intertwine each sample to flow with the rest of it. And I dunno about you but I've never heard over 50% of the shit he uses in this song
@SWflashproductions i respect you giving him props, but if you haven't heard 50% of the samples used, then you don't really listen to a variety of music
@smithersandburns Also not all the songs have the same beat to begin. in fact most of them dont, that's something that he goes through and adjusts to the finest detail to get right. He's got a track where he gets an instrumental that's originally in 5/4 timing and manages to make it fade into 4/4 without you noticing a difference. he changes drum beats, he changes guitar riffs, he does soo much more than just stick one song on top of another, there's definitely SOMETHING creative in what he does
@smithersandburns nothing easier to prove your theory: mix some songs everybody already loves, and we'll check them. if thats so easy that you mix them up and get such effect like Girl Talk did, congrats.;))

@SWflashproductions live mixing is hard, studio mixing is harder, us DJ's really can tell the diff between trax, and how the prod. has mixed em
