Well I did the the install this morning,I think overall the longest part was putting a bevel on the header...I also made the mounting holes a bit wider like you said and it worked perfect...thanks
How did you line up/ bolt the m4? I have an 08 Gsxr with the stock muffler but scared to cut the stock cat and not able to line up the holes to mount it on the bike.
the worst case scenario is that you might have to fab up a little bracket or two to line up with the stock holes. The M4 had a big enough flange on the can that I was able to just drill new holes and bolt it on.
If you are somewhat mechanically inclined it shouldn't be a problem for you. Im not familiar with kawi's exhaust setup, but it can"t be much more complicated than the gixxer's SET valve nonsense. With the right tools you should be fine.
@notthebread ok kool beacuse, they only problem i think i might run into are my cables that run up into my seat. you think i would need a power converter to map it out, or i'll be fine with just the slip on?
What did that do to your torque? I just sold my 636 and plan on getting this same bike. I put a muzzy slip-on on my 636 with no tune, and lost the already dismal amount of torque I had, I literally couldn't power up in first gear anymore. I want a K8 750 but the main reason is I want torque, and I don't want to lose it. I'm going slip-on, sprockets, PC5 on this bike when I get it. I want a slip-on that keeps torque around stock levels, or increase it if that's possible.
hey, i have the same bike as you and im thinking on getting the megaphone. is it a clean sound or does it sound as a car. I want to get a two brother or a akra. shorty and do the same procedure but no $ yet.. so is the megaphone good or not ?
The hotbodies definitely doesn't sound like a car, it has some pretty good growl! If you are looking at exhaust though, I think the megaphone is good for a temporary and cheap replacement for the stock sound until you save up some cash for a quality slip-on or full system. Im very happy with the M4, and would recommend it to others. I like the low-profile, GP look of them, but thats just my preference! Let me know what you chose.
its really not that hard, and if you can find yourself a good used slip-on, you can save a bunch of cash. Feel free to msg if you have any specific questions while doing it.
I made a little bracket and just screwed it to the thin flange on the stock catalytic converter, and I agree, gives it a cleaner look, you dont see that ugly clamp setup..
thank you soooooo much for having a video with good audio and no stupid music so i can hear what the exhaust actually sounds like. ive spent countless hrs trying to find one i want to buy...lol i feel like giving up
i'm in total agreeance with you about vids with music over the actual sound of the bike. In another month or so, i'll have some better sound vids, flyby's etc. I just have to wait impatiently for the weather to co-operate
The megaphone was good, pretty loud, but not obnoxious. Its not imparative that you get a power commander, but anytime you alter the stock exhaust you affect the factory tune slightly, causing it to run a little on the lean side. It just gives you a little baffle as you come down in the rpm's, sounds kinda cool!
you mean like a straight pipe? no muffler? it will be louder, no doubt, and you will gain hp because of no restrictions, but the bike will run lean with a bit of backfire so its better to throw a tune on it so it can perform to its potential
You know what, I'm glad you went for the two bros! Too many people have the yosh, personally I think they"re a bit over rated, I like to see some variety out there. Also I get my bike dyno tuned by a suzuki racing mechanic who puts a teka tune on it that rivals any power commander. He does a re-map with the perfect air/fuel ratio, plus he's a racer so I trust his work.

@antonyM2007
yeah i think all 06-07 gixxer slip-ons will work in the same fashion because they all come with a sort of "mid pipe"

Very nice video....
I have the same bike but in the fast colour (black) LOL...........
I have a question..
What happens if U take the cat off and instead put a plain pipe in it's place??
Also all of this without changing the OEM exhaust?
Anyone ??
THNX!!

Nice video man. Did the M4 have a baffle ?
xtmracer91 2 years ago
no, no baffle in it. when i get it back from getting tuned on the dyno, i'll do a sound video, get a better idea of the sound.
