I can't get enough of his music. Makes me wish I could roll up into a ball of energy and go far away from the bs here and go somewhere away from any strife.
This man is incredibly innovative. For some reason, I thought that the song 'Last Request' was his duet with JC Bentley, from his album 'Music.' I must have been mistaken.
please please and we have to listen to the likes of n dubz and the rest of the rubbish out there.... while this man is still alive........... come back to us OMAR .... so many good memories of u....
@adelanunez As much as I agree with you, there has to be a balance in music. Basically, we need groups like N Dubz to show the masses the trash end of the spectrum and artists like Omar to show us the dope end. Kinda like the hip hop spectrum...you have 50 Cent and Lil Wayne on the weak end and Mos Def/Talib Kweli/MF Doom/Common etc on the dope end.
@DEBONAIRMAN u, like me, should just be thankful that we 'get' this type of talent. i been bangin the REALNESS shite for ever man. It KILLS me as a musician to hear what the Radios friggin play. Makes me smile when a nice thought out number like that Eliza Doolittle track, Ava Leigh or Corinne gets some play.
I'm with ya man. They're the unfortunate ones as music keeps people young and what they're into is gonna age 'em faster than a 20 a day habit...P.S...ya missed out The Roots from ya list!!
@JamonjiCahillibongo : Indeed, I agree with you. Funnily, from a hiphop/R&B standpoint, the radio tracks from the '90s were considerably better than a lot of the radio tracks these days. Back then, Teddy Riley was runnin' shite ...and I must say....I STILL love his New Jack Swing sound to this day. As for hip hop, 'Follow The Leader' by Eric B & Rakim was LATE 80'S and there is hardly anything that can touch that lyrically TODAY. By the way, good call on The Roots, can't forget them at all!
I found Omar's album 'Music',which is impossible to find stateside on ebay,at a price that by the way was practically giving it away even by today's standards and I feel like the album is just musical gold!Period!
I envy you. Luckily I found a lot of the tracks on Music back in the larger fileshare days and burned them. Now that I have the money I'm buying all the albums one at a time, but Music is just impossible to track down.
And this is the only track off it I was unable to find...which is tough because it's EASILY the best on the album.
Wow! I've listened to Omar since 94. It's a shame that he's not more known in the States. He's a rare talent! Thanks for the video. I'm lovin' Omar more and more!!!
The amount of times the hairs on the back of my neck have gone wild in the last 6.38 sec Hmmmmmmmmmm.....nice!!!! The yanks can keep their stuff, this is the real shit right here........
YES OMAR U KNOW U RUN DI SHOW . . .YOU KNOW UR PARENTS WELL HAPPY W/ U.. .. Bless UP. . .I guess dem still chillin in AFRICA. . YOU DID & ARE DOING GOOD SIR!!
I'm gonna have this played at my funeral. Classic

there's a snippet of this song on his album "sing" and for the longest I wondered what song it was. but here it is :-)

Nice chord progression that's starts at 2:54 to about 3:02 but the whole song is wicked !!
They won't big him up and make his music heard for the masses probably because he doesn't sound like no choir boy ....
