  • No wonder Ferrari and Porsche both hate Nissan's guts.

  • A fair judgement! It's a huge achievement for the price!

And for the all the anti GT-R I have to say... analyse this video!

  • The lost girp of nissan with more rear track than front track such as GT-R,TEANA,TIIDA,etc.

  • Well at least the editor in chief knows what the hell he is talking about unlike the other patriotic American biased editors writing propaganda style positive reviews for the ZR1 like the only reason why they even gave this car of the year thing to the GTR is simply to mask their hatred for Japanese cars...

  • One of the Skylines were confiscated in Orange county, California and was advertised on the auction website, "For export only!"

My husband wouldn't take me to go see it.:(

  • THE NISSAN GTR KICKS ASS....WHAT WILL THO'S JAPANESE PEOPLE COME UP WITH NEXT

  • I will trade my audi s5 for this and put more 5k for down payment..sound good!

  • must be !!! blend of sport car's & daily use car's

  • i like the GTR,but if its car of the year, the ZR-1 and the Z-06 must be cars of the decade, i hear they ran the GTR lmany times on a dry warm track to even come close to the ZR-1 times that was ran once on a wet track

  • @skillz1855 no i know that an alpha 9 gtr would do better than a zr1

  • @skillz1855 Well as far as I am concerned I think the ZR1 is a VERY nice car but just look at stats it matches the ZR1 in 0-60, a little less top speed (like you'll need it), and better braking handling, The GTR is voted #2 in track stock cars for under 1 mill dollars. And your remark about you "hearing" that the ZR1 (140k$) beat the GTR (78k$) was wrong just look up "Car and driver, GTR SMACKS CORVETTE ZR1!!!" It's where the GTR beats it...

  • international harvester is american bud.

  • No paro d ver programas espectaculares sobre coches de nuestros vecinos, ingleses, alemanes, franceses...... X Q EN ESPAÑA NO AI NADA D ESTO?? x favor tanta porkeria televisiva, un poco mas d interes x la cultura en general.

  • a gtr tuned to the price of zr1 will easily beat zr1... check this link

    watch?v=yjPXWdkLHSw

  • I don't care what anyone says the GT-R is a Skyline, that's like saying the SRT-4 isn't a Neon. Don't be so anal people, if the R34 is a Skyline then so is the R35.

  • @davids7319 compared to the 150k+ ferrari, extremely affordable

  • I dont like Asian cars but will admit that the GTR is a really nice car.

  • shit men. i really love this car.

  • lightweight material... but still heavy

delivers ferrari performance... but still slower than ferrari

car of the year... but you're driving the standard edition?!

  • @ivanorstar oh just STFU!

  • Nissan GTR..I LUV U...

  • @davids7319

Could you? I really don't care if its a V6, V8 and upwards are going to become extinct anyways.

  • @davids7319

for $84 grand you get $200 grand performance.

  • THE GUYS THAT PICKED THIS CAR MUST HAVE BEEN HIGH WITH OBAMA. I JUST SAW THE ZO6 CLEAN THERE CLOCK. DONT MESS WITH USA

  • @davids7319 about 84,000 US dollars. It happens to be very affordable

  • woot woot thumb up for the GTR...wish i could afford it but oh well got a EVO X kinda like a mini GTR

  • Every time I see a GTR my dick gets really really hard...and my girlfriend benefits from it significantly but I still don't own a GTR. Is this a good thing?? I don't know....huh!!!

  • @iceman5815

Every time I see a GTR I have an orgasm lol

  • @wildbloodydragon

I read in some Japanese forums that GTR R35 is the base for future variations of GTR. There is GTR R35's luxury version (Infiniti Essence) that I think is better than Porsche 911. Then there is R36 coming out in few short years and then the R37 (that's as far as what they are planning for the next decade). And in Japan, they have shops that make GTR wagons and it seems Nissan is planning to make 4 door version of GTR as well. Think about the possibilities! =)

  • @wildbloodydragon

Another thing....Porsche and Chevy have 50 years of R&D into their cars. So the cars are pretty much PERFECT. But the fact that a car like GTR (not a Skyline) shows up from nowhere (from scratch) and just manhandles its competition from the get go speaks volumes about the car. I honest did not expect any car in the world to match 911 quality of design, engineering and performance. GTR is a Japanese Porsche like Lexus is Japanese Mercedes.

  • @wildbloodydragon

    Made some good points! =)

    But check this out....

Inline-6 (911) is more powerful than a V6 (GTR) engine car (generally). V8 of course is on another level. Another thing, both 911 and Vette are shaped like a cruise missile = less drag = better aerodynamics, etc. Both of these cars are much lighter than GTR. GTR's weight is closer to Veyron than it is to 911 or Vette. With all that, it still beats both Z06 and 911 at Nurburgring and Top Gear track. GTR IS AMAZING!

  • the dual clutch in that r35 is making the GT-R like the holy SPEED.

  • learn how to pronounce the name of the manufacture before you take the video dude

  • the engineering on this car is friggin astonishing

  • just saw one for the first time..... a true case of beauty because its a beast.

  • Oh yea another car wins something that is useless these guys just say what every they feel like, they have no idea what the hell there talking about. lets test cars at real tracks at real altitude levels.

  • They say that Japan is actually a city transported from the future to our current past... they say that Japan may actually be an advanced race from a nearby galaxy. All we know is... they make very good cars.

  • @Descartes619 Lol! I'd believe that :)

  • ,,they do look like aliens but the ancient Aztecs said the aliens who built their pyramids who came from the sky were Aryans with blonde hair so go figure.

  • @Descartes619 they come from a dimension with fucked up teeth and really small bodies lol

great food though, and I like the cars but I get why some people might not.

  • @Descartes619 Japan is a country...

  • @Descartes619 The Stig thinks its a fictional plae

  • @Descartes619 the nuke plant is actually GE

  • The transmission was designed and made by BorgWarner; an American company. It's an awesome gearbox but the 1st gear cog is too weak for high RPM drops. I'll be swapping out my 1st gear with an aftermarket one from PPG.

  • ,,must be a German-American company.

  • NISSAN GTR is the best sport car.

  • @escada600 especially with the Switzer p800 kit! :D

  • corvette old technology? not much older than the GTR....maybe you're thinking of the model name 'Corvette', then yeah, 1953 is alot older than the 1972? Skyline, forgot first year. Those first gen skylines are a pita to find and carry a moderately high price tag too.

  • american racing. just keep ur foot on the accelerator and turn left! LOL!

  • Put that in your chevy-pipe and smoke it! The gtr is a marvel of engineering, the zr-1 is a bored z06 with a supercharger, wider tires, and a stiffer suspension - a cool muscle car but far from being significant in the automotive world.

  • @Andrew64of88 if the gtr is is a marvel of enineering why do the trannys blow at a push of a button.n why didnt they fix the problem? all they did was lowered the rpms. there trannys are weak they cant take a full high rpm launch with out cracking in half! WOW thats a marvel of engineering all right. of failing!

  • @AMXBOY73 They "blew" because their drivers were idiots and clutch dropped repeatedly from redline. Go troll somewhere else.

  • @Andrew64of88 dont get mad bro im just saying the truth. just like you made your silly comment i can to. there tranny are the weak link. weak tranny, i know it hurt but the truth does hurt.they spend alot of time n money on that tranny n it turned out to be a weak tranny. n the sad part is they didnt even try to fix the problem. just lowered the rpms!! thats sad. marvel of engineering my ass!

  • @AMXBOY73 Ever heard of the switzer p700 and 800 gt-r's? You know what the company did to the transmissions? Nothing. And they are as reliable as stock gtrs with ~double the whp. Yes the car is a marvel of engineering, no you shouldn't abuse the launch control in ANY high powered awd car.

  • @AMXBOY73 Ive had my 350Z since 2006 and ive had no tranny problems. My bro has his G35 since 2007 and he has no tranny problems also. tranny problem is a rare case with all cars it is not just Nissan.

  • GTR is only the beginning 2 a whole new way of driving.

  • I fell in love with this car playing Gran Turismo on my PS1

  • Tnx Ariell92..:)

  • How much it cost a car like this in US?

  • @momakIzHora $70,000

  • yeah!!! of '09!!! my high school graduation year whoo!!! go GTR you will be mine one day

  • Check my videos, i have some motoring ones on vdg bridge!! ;)

  • Anyone know where you can get the gt-r? because I think you cannot get the gtr @ just an ordinary Nissan dealer

  • @MrFrozenCanuck Or Ferrari price =)

  • @willsco76

hey dumbass. International is NOT american..its INTER-National..lol hillbilly...the only recall is TOYOTAs camry, different country. See..i have to point that out to unintelligent rednecks like yourself and the narrator is..what..British?

And Popular Mechanics and Popular Mechanics automotive take a scientific approach to their decisions, got nothing to do with where the cars from and Top Gear is EUROPEAN.

Again..continue to post..because ur still making yourself look stupid.

  • @Mattixxg Really? REALLY? Thanks SOOO much for sharing. Not one thing you said I didn't already know. Oh, and aparently im a hillbilly because im American right?

  • @willsco76

Oh btw, most product come from CHINA, hillbilly. HYUCK!

  • Stop talking piece of crap

  • @willsco76 Ignorance is bliss.

  • @willsco76 Hahaha your such a freaking dumbass its not funny. Stop talking your making Americans look retarded.

  • Then why did it get Motortrends car of the year?

Popular Mechanics Automotive Excellence Awards 2008 (Design)

Popular Science - Auto Tech Grand Award Winner

Top Gear supercar of the year?

2k9 International car of the year?

oh...man you must feel preeeety damn stupid about now...

  • People with small penises make better cars.

  • bahahah the pos zr1 sucks ass it will never get car of the year.

  • For all you haters, I really hope it is not because you are racists is it?

  • @KeepingModern racist? lmao...i think you mean "biased"....and yes i am biased....i thing american cars are junkers...imports ftw!

  • @KeepingModern Not really. I love the R34. The R35 is just too fugly for me to like. I won't argue with the performance, it's top notch no doubt about it. But it's a really ugly car.

  • ,,who hates who here ?

  • Japan is superior!

  • good choice!

  • Nissan Gtr is AWD right ?

  • Congratulations Nissan!

  • American cars we're only good between 1965-1972 (Muscle Cars). Now they simply suck! They are all made of cheap plastic. NO LEATHER! NO REAL WOOD.....C'mon get real. American cars are just not worth anything anymore..........buy jap or german

**GTR: It is the fastest production car on the market PERIOD! Thats a fact. AND it's only a v6. Imagine if it was a v8????????

  • My american car has nice leather. Futhermore, the Corvette ZR1 pwns the GT-R. But then again, it's a bit pricier than the GT-R.

You can imagine if it was a V8 all you want, or a V16 if you really want to. It's a V6 and that's all it will probably ever be.

  • @tripzero0 wow can you say that when the gtr beat it for car of the year?

  • @karsseboomh22 I can say that because it's true. The ZR-1 beats or equals the GT-R in just about every road test that Edmunds and Motor trend did on the two cars.

However, the ZR-1 is more expensive.

The GT-R is a great car and a rocket off the line. It's nearly perfectly balanced and has a lot of tech in it.

My comment was geared to the anti-american-car lies that @modernsigns was spewing out of his keyboard.

  • @tripzero0 Too bad the Zr-1 lost to the GTR on the Top Gear test track. But it was a bit wet when the z did the lap. Shame, I wanted to see who would get out on top. Keep in mind that the gtr beat the scuderia, slr, carrera gt, etc.

  • @carmodifire check the motor trend comparison and the zr1 was better.... top gear is always hating on american cars

  • @mikeya1009 Not in lap times. Clarkson tested it and he likes it, and he hates US cars more than anyone else.

  • @carmodifire

Clarkson loves GTR too. Did not talk about it as much as he did about Corvettes. Plus GTR beat Corvette in Top Gear track in UK and tied it in the Nurburging track. What's wrong with that picture?

  • @vm2003 Yeah, I know, I said that in my earlier post, but it was a long time ago. Clarkson loves the gtr, and so do i. Maybe when i can afford one, thr r36 and r37 will be out

  • @mikeya1009 Why oh why do the Americans compare the GTR with the ZR1? it's 225kg more 153bhp less 170 lb of torque less, 2 cylinders less, steel brakes not CF longer, taller... That's like saying the GTR VS the Enzo you can't do it. The ZR1 is in the Noble N600, Enzo LP670 territory. Not a 485bhp car... The Spec V has better specs than the ZR1 and that's still less than the ZR1...

  • @mikeya1009 it depends...each car has its own strengths and weaknesses. For top high speed ZR1 has an advantage. For quick and curvy track races GTR dominates

  • @SilverNBlack510 Depends how curvy you're talking. If the turns are too tight the GT-R would at quite a disadvantage because of its understeer.

  • @modernsigns accept me as a friend bro.

  • @modernsigns ?????? HOW do you figure that Nissan GT-R is the fast as production car on the market?????? But I mean it's fast, very fast, but surely you can't possibly believe that it's the fastest car on the market today???

  • thats not the why they made it but for all round versatilty around the corners great speed and comon its a v-6 twin turboed

  • @AdThaDon2k8 Ok, I understand that there are some potentially hardcore Nissan fans that I am not here to hide behind a youtube post and offend. I was specifically addressing my comment to modernsigns. Because according to him the GTR is the "fastest production car on the market". U R coming in on the tail end of debate. Changing the subject. Kinda like yelling bingo at a checkers game. We were not talking about why the GTR was built. Just that it is not the fastest production car. That's all.

  • the corvette wan't even nominated so their retard fat fans can shut the fuck up

  • corvette is old technology & slower. GTR is something even GM and Ford will try to copy. Car is ahead of its time.

  • @djsal510 they compared the zr1 and this car and the zr1 was quicker in the 1/4, better slalom times, and better braking and top speed......look it up captain if you dont believe me

  • @djsal510 i dont think so! i dout ford n chevy wants to build a weak ass tranny that blows at a push of a button! ahead of its time WHATEVER! N 20K to replace. that sure is ahead of its time.

  • @djsal510 its a car thats very ahead of its time until the transmission fucks up

  • @djsal510 Corvette is faster, and no, GM and Ford will never even think about making an AWD ugly heavy piece of shit full of nerdy gizmos.

  • @wildbloodydragon

GTR is the most efficient production machine on 4 wheels EVER made. Its very sad actually since Corvette has 50 years of R&D behind them. GTR is not even supposed to compete against the Vette. They are only to beat Porsche 911 GT2. That's the car they dissected and beat. Vette boys are planning to create 2013 Vette with some AWD feature (wonder if they have accidentally dissected GTR cars in the process). How about the new launch control feature Chevy copied from GTR?

  • @vm2003 There are two companies that have stuck to their original engine designs and made them near perfection: Chevy Pushrod V8, and Porsche's flat 6. 997T and Z06 are faster than the GT-R (from a roll) and are far more fuel efficient.

GT-R, Vette and 911 all compete in the same segment.

AWD and launch control were done before, so GT-R gets no bonus points for originality. 911 had both and Chevy had LC, decades before GT-R. They only improved their system so they'd stay competitive.

  • fuck off......

  • ur a dumbass u fag

  • and ur a dumbass cuz if u look at price economics, and mileage, gtr fukin kills the corvette, so if u own a corvette ud frikin want a gtr cuz ur spendin lik 100 dollars on gas every hour, then smart people who get the gtr wont have to worry bout gas way too much

  • Look up the gas mileage of a Corvette and of a GT-R next time instead of just talking out of your ass. You will find them to be very close.

  • dont give a shit plus if u wanna hav a drag race the corvette has to burn the fuk out of the tires to get a fast start and if it doesnt its over against the gtr, and the 911 gt2 smokes the zr1 in a non skid drag race start and the gtr is barely slower than the gt2 in a drag race but is way faster in terms of handling and the only reason why the zr1 beats a gtr in handlin is cuz its lighter but if you took off weight of the gtr wich they did with the spec-v, it would rape the zr1 in the ass

  • None of what you just typed is worth the shit that comes out of your ass. You didn't list any stats or anything else legit to support your opinions. Congrats, you are a retard.

  • Hahhahahhhahhahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahaha....sorry i gotta breath.....ahahahhahahhahahaha, I gotta laugh in the faces of those who thought your SR1 or VB1...you know that poor excuse for a turd with wheels...That those retards over at the Chevy land fill head quaters bubble gummed together. whats that heap called?.....ah well doesnt matter..Japan takes this round....better start getting used to it....They obviously dont need bail out money they are doing just fine. WTG Japan.

  • what happin gm with the shit box zr1 lololololololololololololo

  • thats funny, a few years back., a ford tauras won, so this isnt really a great reward, just one for advertisment, and it does have the steering of a sentra SER

  • this isn't an award based on track times, it's all around value

also it's why another ford won again, this time with the fusion

  • GTR is the smartest, so are Japanese.

  • I don't get how that's cheating,

you put in technological pieces in the car, it improves it's performance and it' beats cars twice it's cost while still being cheaper than all of it's competitors...it would be cheating if they were in the same price range... at which the GTR would be near unbeatable.

  • I must have that car!

  • definitely the best transmission in a production vehicle.

  • Nissan GT-ahh(Aussie twist)

    F430 killer, YES

    599 Fiorano and Enzo, NO

  • I beg your pardon but GT-R is faster than Ferrari 599GTB at the Top Gear race track. Ferrari Enzo 1.19.0 Lamborghini LP670 SV 1.19.0 Ariel Atom 1.19.5 Lamborghini LP560 1.19.5 Ferrari Scuderia 1.19.7 Nissan GT-R 1.19.7 Lamborghini LP640 1.19.8 Porsche Carerra GT 1.19.8 Koenigsegg CCX 1.20.4 Ascari KZ1 1.20.7 Mercedes McLaren SLR 1.20.9 Ferrari 599GTB 1.21.2
  • @mitsubishi777 wrong

  • Simply Nissan Gtr is the best

  • It all depends on the boost (psi). you can boost up a 6cylinder supra to 1500hp. I'm sure this car will go over 1000hp with the right set up too.

  • And too bad your fantasy is not reality. Because in reality, Nissan GT-R has already beaten many supercars from Europe, and only delusional fools would deny this.

  • I love this car, only i wish they'd ditch the stupid flappy paddles and put a proper manual gearbox in it

  • it woultn be as fast.... it has the computer aided shifting or whatever its now called... point being, thats why its so fast - almost everything, including the launch, is computer engineered to perfection. make it a stick and itll be doing high 4s if not low 5s.

  • Everything's too artificial in supercars these days. I mean all the launch control and ABS and the flapy paddle gearboxes take away from the raw power of the engine that's being supressed by electronics. Now I think the most well done supercar was the McLaren F1

  • yup. the more electronics it has the less soul it has. now-a-days most of these fast cars are soul-less... even my old S4. sure its great engineering, but its got no soul, and you could tell...

and those retarded paddle shifters or whatever shoul dnever be applied to any car other then F1 or whatever.

  • +1 on that. i feel u. no smg or paddles are gonna make it feel like a "manual" car to me

  • Comment removed

  • i luv

  • All the kiddies want the new muscle cars like Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers. Only those cars are low-tech '70 clones. It really doesn't matter what you drive if you drive what you like.

If you think the Cama-former or the Corvette is the car for you get it... it'll keep you poor with the expensive repair bills -- trust me I know. In 10 years it'll just be another tired old Chevy, but a Nissan... (pause for effect) will still be a Nissan! Gotta love the engineering.

  • Nissan hasnt always been a quality brand. Which is why its such an achievement for them to make the affordable and great Nissan GTR now. Its also good to see that it doesnt have to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to own a supercar. Sure the Challenger is cheaper still. But its based on the Chrysler C300 which again is based on the cheapass discontinued Mercedes W210 from 1996. Carrying on old uninspired crap like that for decades to save some cash is why americans lost their car industry.

  • I take it you're talking about the Altima... Otherwise Nissan has had a history of cars and light trucks that rack up high mileage with relatively low cost of ownership dating back to its Datsun days. As for performance... Nissan has come into its own in the last two decades. Prior to the 80's performance options were somewhat limited in the Japanese market, but even then there were aftermarket mods for key cars 240Z and 510s notably.

  • Corvette comes with a 5 year, 100k mile warranty- how would that "keep you poor with expensive repair bills.." ??? Not sure I understand that statement-

  • Having owned cars from all major manufactures, I can honestly say you get nearly twice the car (based on mileage and longevity) and about 2/3s the cost when you compare Nissans to Chevy or Chrysler products with some notable exceptions (early Altima for example). You still have to be smart about individual models... The current Chevy lineup is a desperate attempt to jump current in terms of consumer styling favor. In my opinion it is a bit goofy, but they have attracted some attention.

  • Right.... sorry, I'm not Hyundai fan. So I don't have a lot of good experience with warrantys. But best-of-luck to you. Hope it works for ya. Just make sure you don't own it when the warranty expires -- that's what I was referring to keeping you poor.

  • impressive but so fucking ugly... it looks like a fucking space ship.... like id be about to launch into orbit or something. why nissan? why build a transformer?

  • Hmmm... ugly is subjective depends on what you see. Oh and it was Chevy that built the transformer. I guess you missed it in the theaters, eh? The GTR is designed to be highly technical with a flair towards futuristics. This is in contrast to the used-to-be-American car manufacturers that are going for the new-retro look. Kinda appeals to different crowds doesn't it? Personally, I don't go for the 22+" chrome rim look, but I'm glad for the variety so I can get the performance cheaper.

  • i hear ya, it is all subjective. i was just stating my opinion.

and just cause i think this is awful doesnt mean im gun-ho about american muscle cars... though id take a GT500 ANY DAY over this. just for the fucking fun you'lll have. ive owned a 4 wheel drive - they're cool, but cmon... you're never gonna go crazy with all this potential anyway unless you live in the desert with open wide roads......

  • a few years back i sold my Audi S4 with about 402hp to the wheels - that thing was incredibly fast.... and still as fun as it was, everytime id get into a rearwheel drive car (regardless of make) id just get this grin..... knowing all the things i could do. i personally like attitude in a car - the ability to wip out the rearend on a turn like nothing.... 4wheel drive feel really "neat". yeah they made an amazing car - i admit. but im not the type to buy something just cause its fast.

  • Isn't the Audi S4 all wheel drive...
