  • This was a fantastic film. My only two (mild) criticisms were: A - the scene where he adjusts the clock. A little too hokey. And B - the scene where Rose and Jack retreat down into the ship because Roses' husband is shooting at them. That scene could have been cut entirely, and the movie would not have suffered a bit. We already hated the guy - no gunfight was needed. Just my humble opinion. I just watched this movie again today. Great film.

  • Francesco Schettino - watch and learn.

  • R.I.P Megaupload :'(

  • Iceberg = Patch 1.1

    Water = Empire

    People = Republic

Musicians = Old Bioware fans who have finally accepted the end and are lamenting on how their favorite studio has fallen so far.

  • RIP Bioware.

  • the saddest part of the movie

  • This made me cry!

  • I don't think this happened in the Costa Concordia

  • "Many brave things were done that night but none more brave than by those few men playing minute after minute as the ship settled quietly lower and lower in the sea...the music they played serving alike as their own immortal requiem and their right to be recorded on the rulls of undying fame."

    -Lawrence Beesley, Titanic Survivor

  • @clctitanic it was the bridge that sunk, not the bow, that was already 50 minutes under water.

  • @Firemarioflower Even your wrong, it was the bridge, the officers quaters and the boat deck and grand staircase which all sank in this video... which are all in the forward end of the ship so for short I just said the bow as for an example of the forward end of the ship sinking and the bow was only under the water for 30 minutes.

  • @clctitanic then your right. but the forecastle was certainly under for 50 minutes.

at 1:15, the water came over the front deck. logically, it reached deck B at 1:30,

then the A deck at 1:50. At 2:05, it finally reached the boat deck. After 10 minutes, the 2nd funnel was reached and the stern started to rise. Then the end came soon. You have seen the entire movie, or not??

  • @Firemarioflower An account from Fred Barret one of the firemen who worked in the boiler rooms was in boiler room 5 from just after the collision to 01:10am when the compartment between boiler room 6 which was flooded failed then causing boiler room 5 to flood at 01:10 when Barret left when he escaped up the escape ladder and came out on E deck on (Scotland Road) he said there was water just forward on E deck, Titanic sinking speed slowed down after 12:20am and the waterline stayed on E deck

  • @Firemarioflower between 12:20am and 1:10am, how could this be possible? this is possible because Fred Barret in boiler room 5 with two other men were able to pump the water out of boiler room 5 which was party damaged and flooded. They kept it dry and clear of any water between 12:20am and 01:10am so this is why E deck stayed at the waterline for 50 minutes because boiler room 5 acted as an air bubble holding up the bow for almost an hour until the bunker hatch between boiler room 6 & 5 failed

  • @Firemarioflower Yeah I have watched Titanic since I was 5 years old, I have researched for many many years and by all accounts the forward well deck went under just 30 minutes before the bridge plunged under. The movie is not exactly correct if you look at where the waterline is just after Rose free's Jack the waterline is half way up B deck and then through the whole lowering of the aft lifeboats and jack and rose breaking through the gates then Rose leaving in boat D on the port side...

  • @Firemarioflower The water is at the same level on B deck, so how is it possible that Titanic stopped sinking for a good 30 minutes in the movie with her bow under water...it's not possible. the water flooding the ship at that point would have been very rapid and continuous as there were large open doors and windows on B deck.

  • There's something very peaceful about a ship sinking.

  • The Old Republic theme.

    So many lost souls....

  • The official theme of star wars the old republic

  • im crying my eyeballs to the ground so much

  • por la rechucha toavia me da pena

  • I used to play the violin on sinking cruise ships, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @hfontanez98 bad joke for a video like this

  • @hfontanez98 REALLY!?

  • Introducing the new theme song for the 2012 New York Mets.

  • Dont take this the wrong way, I love this scene, but this scene assumes Im an idiot

This is a story told by the account of a survivor, and while yes maybe some of the survivor may have given their two cents on this situation, I find it down right odd that not only do they know that a irish family was on board, but that they know during their last moments their mother read them a story

which brings up another thing, Their drowning would have been horrible to witness, yet it seems less horrific

  • ninendowii2000 u fcking evil

  • A lot of people cry when Jack dies ... but this part always makes me cry the most.

  • lol i always rewinded the part where the ship cracked and sank

  • The actual total of lives lost as RM Titanic went under was 1,517

  • @MorganMcCarraher RMS Titanic

  • This should hold a record of Saddest song ever

  • The most impressive scene of the whole film I'd say!

  • It's amazing to see they still played, I'd do the same do what I was BORN to do. So amazing. ;)

  • Its amasing to belive this happend

  • Makes us realize that life is precious.

  • the scene with the kids is really sad

  • gentlemen it has been a privileged playing with you tonight, love that line

  • there is something hypnotizing about a string quartet

  • I find this easy masturbate to.

  • The reason why the port side sank before the starboard was because when she was sinking she listed 5 degrees port.

  • pause at 2:44

thats what i did on my first time riding the drop tower

  • When the mom was in the bed with the kids made me cry :'(

  • See ya Big East!

  • This part of the movie makes me ball!!! Knowing the words to this song makes it really hit home. We sang this in church today, and I was tearing up. What a sad tragedy. :'(

  • there are 10 strong people here that didnt tear eh... we the weaker know what is the tear..

  • true fact shortly after the sinking of titanic when the families of the musicians and other crew where to get payment for their loss all they got was a bill for lost uniforms

  • @Crazyphil2008 ikr! how horrible Dx

  • This is my favoritist movie EVER, such a sad tragic event

  • So sad and yet, in a way, inspiring. In the middle of such tragedy the band played on. And it isn't just something Hollywood made up, they actually did- even though they knew they faced certain death they played on. Such courage and bravery

  • @thebigJM92 and they absolutely knew they faced death, none of them survived, when im sure all of them could with at least a little priority, the story of these musicians is one of the greatest and most inspiring things ive watched/read

  • I feel bad for those who died :'(

  • and the band played on...

  • :*(

  • Sad : (

  • The couple on the bed makes me feel sad.

  • I don't care much when Jack dies but I always start to cry till the end from here on

  • I feel bad for those poor Brits...

  • i always cry when i hear this music

  • SUD

  • no matter what that was the best scene.

  • How calm they look.......freaks me out a bit.

  • I, like a lot of people, do not care for James Cameron. However, even I have to be brought to humility when I say that he has definately depicted this tragedy the only way it could be shown.

  • Those musicians, who played music in the face of death, were very brave. So other people were not so frightened. Wherever their souls now - Let them rest in peace.

  • this scene gives me the chills and makes me tear up every time. the first time i saw it, i was just sobbing into the pillow.

  • i cant imagine knowing im gonna die in a few minutes

  • 2:36 the guy with the moustache behind 2nd officer lightoller looks suspicously like adolf hitler with that moustache.

  • this bit made me cry the first time i saw it. they heroicly played on, knowing they would die even as all this tragedy happens around them as the ship slowly sinks.

amazing film, can't wait for the remake!!

  • the last version 1 boarder take a leg and the titanic broked in 2 so the victims died i think for the funnel or the ship broked in two.... sad its sad......

  • with some cameras, film, a director, producers, actors, muscicians, make up artists and a script ;)

  • how did they make the movie/

  • respect from poland

  • Einmalig! Einfach großartig!

  • i would be scared out of my mind

  • Everytime every damn time I see this movie and believe me when I say that we are way up in the double digits here i just cry my eyes out during this scene! When I see that couple in the bed and that woman telling her children the story Of Tir Na Nog I just lose it!

  • hino lindo

  • 1:04 sooo sad :'(

  • the actual version of "Nearer My God to Thee" played at the time would have been a different one, the version composed by John B. Dykes

the musical score in this video's version is known as "Bethany," composed by Lowell Mason

  • I don't know about ya'll, but Titanic is 100 percent better than Avatar.

  • @goraiders8 Without a doubt mate :)

  • @goraiders8 140% better than Avatar!

  • @goraiders8 maybe she didnt know the ship was sinking damn i take that back she is crazy

  • this movie is a great representation of how devastating this was i know the real disaster was different but this movie with the old couple and the children being put to sleep for all we know that may actually have happened it is so sad to think of those people standing helpless on a slowly sinking mass of metal and wood and glass without anything except bits of the titanic itself to hold onto in the water knowing they and their families were going to die :'( hope humanity never forgets this boat

  • these 3 musicians were played by Hungarians :)

  • 1:09 omfg D:

  • the old couple always make me cry

  • @darkkristian22 The old couple shown was Isidor Straus & his wife Ida Straus. They helped found Macy's department stores.

  • @darkkristian22 yea me too idk y

  • @darkkristian22 I think the mother putting the kids to bed is the worst.

  • @darkkristian22 The parents tucking in their children makes me cry.

  • the old people laying down is a sad scene /: and so is the part were the mom is putting her kids to sleep

  • "Gentleman, it has been a privilege playing with you tonight."

  • titanic is my favorite movie

  • why hi sink makes me cry

  • Eeeeee

  • fairwell titanic

  • 0_0

  • When i listen to this song in this particular scene, i think about a mother that sing a song for his crying child, to make him sleep... Forgot the sadness, the fear for the death and the sorrow sleep, sleep with the Titanic and dream in deep of the ocean about the life ...

  • 0:05 + 0:00 = The sound disclaimed!

  • It is said that NMGTT was a favourite of band leader Wallace Hartley, and it was a piece that he wanted played at his own funeral. If this is the case, and this was indeed the last song that they played, it is an eerie coincidence that he himself played it for his own death and the death of 1500 other people.

  • I just read a book that was comprised of several eyewitness survivor accounts, and the chief wireless operator said that they played "Autumn" as the ship went down. I'd like to think they played this instead though. So touching.

  • I don't care what people say, I think the violin is THE instrument that could convey the sadness in the human soul. Every time hear this song I catch myself tearing up. True music lovers would understand what I'm talking about.

  • One word comes to mind here among the chaos of the sinking ship: Peace.

  • @SheaDisney that was the main reason the band played that night...to keep the peace. But it can also be argued that their lively and sometimes gentle tunes lulled the crowd into a false sense of security aboard the sinking ship, and was one of the factors that contributed to the first few lifeboats going away with so few on them.

  • The cello player doesn't sing in this one. PS Wally Hartley was a somewhat younger man than depicted here, but this lad and the one in A Night to Remember look enough like the genuine article.

  • To me, this was the movie's best scene overall. There is just no words to describe what went down that fateful night. For example, Guggenheim watching with fear written all over his face as that icy cold presence of death swathed into the foyer. And the crew who frantically tried to cut the lifeboat tethers under pressure from the fast moving water and the panicking passengers who tried to escape the flood. May they all rest in peace; their duties done.

  • This is the one scene, in the Titanic, which never ever fails to make me cry, however many times I watch it..so beautiful <3

  • one of the best emotional scenes made in cinema.

  • cant wait 4 the 2012 3d remake

  • @datscool567 lol

  • @datscool567 That's hella stupid. This movie the original. No should make a remake of this movie. WTF 3D! That's bullshit!

  • @Theatermedia10 It is the same movie only in 3d. sheesh, look it up.

  • @datscool567 It will suck.

  • @datscool567 it will be the same only in 3d

  • this movie made me burst into tears. :'(

  • More youtube arguments. Sigh. Can't people just for once enjoy a powerful film scene in silence.

  • 1:01 :'-(

  • The captain is the smartest man on the ship !

  • *sarcasm* i think they should make titanic 2

you know with Von Diesel and Angelina Jolie and they built the new titanic but aliens want to destroy it with bombs, then they are going to shoot at each other for the entire movie

  • They stood their posts, while the weaker ran by

And showed to the world, how real men die...

God bless Wallace Hartley, the bravest musician who ever lived.

  • I love this song sad but so pretty

  • This was the saddest scene for me. I thought I was gonna dehydrate from all my crying. My eyes are bit wet now too :'(

  • at 0:36 and threw the Captain is like well i guess ill die in this room insead of any otheres lol =|

  • So many beautiful moments in this sequence, it's never failed to bring a tear to my eye! I especially love Fabrizio using his final moments to cut last lifeboat free.

  • In the film they show a scene where all passengers of the 1st class are in the chapel of the Titanic and they sing a chant. Does anyone know the name of it?

  • so good are title .

  • Leave it to the British to stand their posts without fear of the impending fate.

A testament what British people today ought to be...

  • @winstonchurchill95

Ever heard about HMS Birkenhead ?

  • has anyone else ever caught the string pulling the cup in the scene with mr andrews?? You can see it from the glar of the fire by his arm!!

  • gets me every freaking time :(

  • So this was the orginal, CH BTW

  • When I'm deceased, they have to play this song...

  • I just love that his band members return to play with him, awesome!!

  • You could have done this more justice by not filming it with your shoe.

  • HEY HEY @DreadfulControversy and @o3941 stop this! this is unacceptable while titanic is playing!!

  • @Ryborstan LUL, this kid is retarded. Trying to be a professor on Youtube, LMAO.

  • @o3941 1. I Don't CARE what Titanic was about 2. "I see you AS an ignorant pig". Not "a". Ignoramus. 3. If you have a problem come to New York and see me in real life. Until then, just keep typing behind a computer on a BLANK PROFILE. Until then, you're getting ignored. As far as I'm concerned, you're just another loser who fails in the real world so you're trying to make up for it on Youtube. LMAO!!!! Get off my dick, fruitcup.

  • @DreadfulControversy shut the fuck up.

  • @throughthepensieve This DICK

  • @DreadfulControversy And you call yourself an adult? How repulsive. I know 12 year olds who are more mature than you are. This is an emotional song, and yet you don't care, you have no soul or heart. Your ignorance doesn't belong here, go back to your crappy rap songs. You can say anything you want, like it matters here on youtube or anywhere else.

  • @Brigade35 You used "ignorance" wrong. I never called myself anything. Everyone has a heart and soul, ignoramus. Repulse this DICK. If you have a problem with my comments, go cry somewhere else. I'm free to post whatever I want. What makes this song any more emotional than rap? You biased, one sided prick. Repulse this DICK.

  • James cameron, ILOVEYOU!

  • Bernard Hill has a bad habit of dying in all of his movies.

  • I was totally serious, straight faced will 2:41

  • my favorite scene its so sad

  • its always women and children first but most americans are not gentleman but cowards

  • @Slipknot5301 My bad, you can resume your crying over the old people. LMAO, softie.

  • Well, this had to be Americas biggest genocide on itself.

  • @DreadfulControversy If you think this disaster is a genocide, you are foolishly mistaken. A genocide is "The INTENT to wipe out a group of people based on nationality, race, religion, or culture. Also, as you obviously don't realize it, RMS Titanic was a British liner, with few Americans onboard. It was primarily European people onboard the ship. And seeing as it was an accident, there is no possibly way an international inquiery would even consider the this disaster a Genocide.

  • @o3941 You take the internet to serious. What a waste of typing for nothing. Oh well, carry along lad.

  • @DreadfulControversy I take what I want seriously, I see you a an ignorant pig that thinks he, or she, knows something about something, and is trying to show off his, or her, "knowledge". But you don't. I doubt you know anything beyond what the movie shows about Titanic, and I am damn near certain you know nothing at all about what a genocide is, or how many there have been in the last century.

  • it's impossible for me to watch the scene were the mother is telling her two boys a story so they could sleep without crying.

  • When the mom tells the kids a story right when they are about to die gets me ever time
