where do we go when we die? (a question asked on here) it's one of the questions that can't be answered by factual exchange, nor by experience, nor by authority. any answer wwill be pure imagination and speculation which, can't be relied on as truth.
@albertchandler2 Whether you are cremated or burried, once you're dead, you're dead, your spirit doesn't leave your body. Your spirit is part of your body, and if that's dead the spirit is to, at least that's my opinion.
Been a fan since 1978. They are the best and the voice of Jim Kerr is impossible to describe for any human. This song is suited for greats like Mount Everest, Sahara Dessert, Great Whales, Space Travel and Peace anywhere in the Universe...................... Bigger than life
Love the ending of the song......"forever more", the haunting music and if you turn the volume up at the very end Jim Kerr's voice as he sings "coming home in the Big Sleep"........awesome!
When I listen to this I am transported straight back to 1982. Sad to say, how I wish I was still living in the '80s. Life seemed so straight forward then - so happy-go-lucky. Alas, I've not best coped with adulthood and life as a 40 something. Bad carrer choices, lost loves, missed opportunities - the list goes on. At least listening to this wonderful music strips away the pain and heartaches, even if only fleetingly. It does lift one's heart once again and makes one realise that there is good.
Without sounding boastful, I'm only half your age and I too can completely empathise with a lot of what you just listed. And wholeheartedly agree - this music does seem to dull the pain, even if for a moment!
@Thatwasthesummerofsv you said it so well in your comment, i'm 41 years old and also would like to live the 80's again, and do a couple of things different i did wrong back then !!!
@Thatwasthesummerofsv Life was so good in the 80's. Our Children will probably never have it so good. When you play it, sing it and close your eyes. Imagine you are back there even if only for 5 minutes.
@Thatwasthesummerofsv 'Lost loves, bad career choices, missed opportunities' - three quarters of the 40 something population are there with you my friend. I'm sitting in on a Friday night guzzling red wine and going through old music, old thoughts and wishes but there's no rewind button that can bring it back. I'm learning to love the vivid feelings and memories when I listen to 1980s music. Thank God for it all.
@Thatwasthesummerofsv mate - only day there is is now :-). Guess there is something about the 40s that makes us all feel that way. But this is the summer of if you can look at loss and see it as the grit that forms the pearl. 80s are a long way away and that hurts, but youre alive to watch the next sunset!
@georgejacktheripper What about The Associates? Yeah, Simple Minds rule and so does The Blue Nile but The Associates are pretty awesome. Charlie Burchill himself has admitted to being a fan of theirs.
