  • awsome tutorial... i wish they were all as short and to the point

    thanks

  • @fragnix808 Thanks

  • Really nice tutorial that's what i try to find

  • wow no trolls have seen this vid yet?!! 0 dislike and 59 likes!? good style ^_^

  • it can be done much easier using a peak controller, I made a tuturial for that on my channel

  • can u mute the kick like you could on the peak controller??? i have not found a way yet

  • Great Job! Love the your tune man!

  • nice one man=) can u tell me, whats ur plugin for the drums there?

  • Whats The Sample Mate. Could You Send Me It or Whats The Name

  • good job my man. simples

  • nice man :)

  • good tutorial

  • what sound of synth, and vst did u use with the kick in the beggining please answer! :(

  • This seems to be an easier way than using the the peak controller to sidechain

  • @mickeyjp111 It surely is a more elegant way, but it's the end result that counts.

  • Can you save the loudness settings in fl limiter?

  • @ 0:25 i accidentaly adjusted the gain to more loudness,

but when i fl studio starts the gain isn't set to normal

  • This is a great tutorial! how could you not understand this? :S

  • This is the fastest and easiest way to sidechain (ducking) over a kick drum I've seen on youtube tutorials.

  • yo how do you get the sidechain effect on the synth/bass and mute the kick at the same time? please reply back thanks

  • When I want to choose ''Sidechain to This Track'' Nothing happens, No tables come up nothing. Is there any other way to choose ''Side Chain to this Track'' but than I choose the empty insert, they letting me ''Sidechaint to this Track'' but than I put some sample into it, it dissapears.

  • hey man this was an excellent and quick tutorial keep them coming, you are good at tutorials as far as i know u explained well what the modulators do.. thanx

  • Awesome! quick simple tutorial which helps a ton!

  • I have to admit, this tutorial IS sort of vague and kind of confusing, but you have to keep this in mind - the sidechain source, must be in the same pattern as the synth or whatever instrument/vocal you want to have the sidechain effect applied on.

  • @ruhani777 It was meant to be quick and simple, and i'm not great with tutorials. Also, the sidechain source must be in the same pattern as the synth?!?! Thats what routing is for.

  • Doesn't matter, it helped me regardless, thanks.

  • @ruhani777

no it does not man simply route it lol

  • A big thank you for the quick tut. I was messing with sidechaining for ages before stumbling on this vid.

  • Thanks man, this really helps.

  • thanks. will do the ducking effect the new way from now on

  • i have FL9 but a diffrent version of the limiter, no routing options :(

  • what sound are you using man? :D

    plugin? preset?

  • NI FM8 and use of its internal Tube Amp and Chorus

  • @FeralBlade Awesome track, really like it ;)

  • Thx for explaining this... can you mute the kick so we only hear the sidechaining effect ? You can when using the peak controller...

  • I've tryied muting it in the mixer but it makes the sidechaining effect stop

  • Just don't route the kick to the master. That should make it.

    By the way nice tutorial!

  • Thanks, and that works too :D

  • How can I "un-route" it?

  • Select the FX channel the kick is set to. Then left click the routing symbol to unroute it.

Yellow light is on, yellow light off is unrouted

  • Lots of thanks!

  • best straightfoward tutorial on sidechaining ...thanks!!!!

  • thanks for the tutorial helped me out immensely =]

  • gr8 vid gonna start summit now :)

  • I worked it out....If you need to know how to mute the kick and keep on sidechaining.......you mute the kick by (selecting the insert channel you put the kick on)....and then "turn the master channel to the left"....

    :o)

  • i needed to know that thx

  • Many Thanks.....But how do you "mute" The kick, and still be sidechaining?

    Cheers

    Matt

  • Thanks for the tutorial, solid sounds as well.

It seems like more complication than the old peak controller method though...

  • No problem, and thank you. I don't think it sounds too great though :(

Its a bit more work than the peak controller method but has its pluses I guess. Like with the attack and release of the side chain.

  • thanks dude

  • cool thanks

  • Thanks for this!!! I've been looking everywhere for something demonstrating the new sidechaining capability in FL9. Thank youuuu!

  • pretty cool.bro

  • In the lower-left side of the mixer, under the master track there is an orange symbol like an half arrow; you click it.

  • AMAZING BRO THANKS!

  • You simply disable send from the kick track to master track.

  • Hey, who do i disable the send etc. Sorry, but dumb when it somes to this.

  • Very nice ;)

Do you know how to make a sound sidechain when the kick is off? Like in the demo song on FL Studio 9 when the "Massive Pad" starts playing, and in pattern 1 there is a kick with no sound, but the desibel meter shows that it is playing.

    Understand? xD

  • You can do what

dewedes said, or make a seperate kick just for sidechaining doing the same thing with that technique, aswell as the peak controller with mute checked

  • Thanks!

But, if you use peak controller with mute checked the db in the mixer will not pick up any sound..

  • You can use 2 kick samples each linked to there own fx channel. 1 kick can be muted / sidechain.

There is that strategy as well

  • yea.. but i just used an extra kick and muted it to the master channel. Worked out good enough for me ;)

  • Foxie pwns

  • This is amazing. Nuff said.

    Thanks!
