The U.S. Constitution, by your reasoning, is just a piece of paper with some ideas. Frederic Chopin's works for piano? Just paper with musical thoughts and feelings. Same with Beethoven and Mozart, of course. The Bible? Just writing. Masterpieces by famous artists? Just paint on a canvas. Einstein's theory of special relativity? Just math.

I did not mean to offend you I see your patriotism has woken up. did not mean to offend you. we think to much and feel to little. that is the point, the problems do not come of human being natural but human being social beings. Nothing Htiler has done was natural, he had an ideology which is a social beast, the product of thoughts (social) and not fellings (subcouncus). but we are social beings and we are on the long run fucked. I belive in simlicity, to simplify everything is road to happines but yet not for a good philosophical thought sorry to say.

@smallpotatoes989 I don't know that simplicity is always best. Just think about Pol Pot in Cambodia. He murdered anyone who wore glases, because he wanted to do away with intellectuals. He wanted an agrarian society, where people were all simple and just farmed their land. No, I think you can make a dangerous political ideogoly out of something even as innocent as "simplicity."

Even on funerals they will do everything to not show tears. @keatsblake100 I belive that it is imposible to solve any problems ever in the global scale taking in acount the whole society. I belive you can only work on individual becouse if you look deep enough the indiviudal is the only thing that exists. Societis are all name, countries (for example: slovenia, Usa) is nothing but a THOUGHT, a concpet slovenisa usa does not exist in reality at all it is all in our head, it is all a mental construct of concepts, but most people are to dumb to realize that

Sometimes, when I think about the scale of human conflict and suffering across the world, I feel helpless and overwhelmed. The millions upon millions of suffering souls, and what can I do to help them when they are half way across the globe?

@keatsblake100 yea if you think that countries are basicly made up, they do not exist in nature. borders are man made, thought out by our ancestors but there is no real usa land it is only land it is only becouse we belive it is and nothing more, but we were raised with that and we see it as if was real as the sun or three.if you want watch Antony Demelo videos on utube he has a great video about guy asked if he wants to live in russia? It makes a great point from what I am talking about.

Educated people, called the Founding Fathers, (no one argues that some of them were geniuses) composed a special document, unlike any other in the world today or any time in history, called the US Constitution.

If you ask the Poles, Russians, Chinese, or the Irsaelis if their land is real or just a socially constructed idea, they look at you with eyes like plates.

@smallpotatoes989 Do you believe that culture exists? If you do, then you also know the land that people are tied to is an inseparable part of the culture. Does language exist, or is it man made too? Why does an Irishman speak in a certain way, while a Scottsman or Englishman speak another? Their accents are regionally defined. Their language and the way they speak it tells us where they came from.

Native American Indians loved their land. They still cry for it today.

Language is a way of talking and some words mean something becouse we have decided or our ancestors that they do. but it is a hard one I will think on that. do not know for sure. native americans belive that it is their land becouse they belive it was their land but it was nothing but land they only belived it was their land.

I have seen Great Dictator and the regular Zizek insight we have come to expect, which blows you away, didn't materialise in this 3 min video. Is it a clip of a DVD?

@iamFegor Yes. This is from a movie called The Perverts Guide to Cinema. He deals with other Chaplin films, and about 20 or 30 other films in clips like this. In each clip he psychoanalyzes the films, but each section sort of builds into a whole message he is trying to portray. It's really good, I highly recomend it.
