Yes, it's a shame they were lip syncing, maybe the technology back then made it hard to really play live. I notice there are many parts where the flute plays over the vocals, that would have been difficult. Great Tull line-up. I think Barriemore Barlow is one of the most underrated drummers ever...

The late John Glasscock on bass there, died 1979, RIP. Not many of the many members of Tull have contributed backing vocals, now that I think of it, but John was credited with them, and is doing a good job of miming them here.

This has to be the best seasonal song ever! I think one of the main reasons I enjoy it so much other, other than the obvious!, is that it does not mention the word Christmas a single time!

This is not a Christmas song. This is a pagan song for the solstice. Same as cup of wonder. The whole "songs from the wood" album is about the old ways before Christianity.
