Well in the days after and before doctor who, green screen and cgi was only for big budget stuff like 'walking with dinosaurs' the most anticipated documentary show ever, alas no Attenborough, cheap stuff like panel shows or sitcoms general got a set, some props and a few actors but no more than that.

Ah the good old days, when comedy was like soaps are today, out yearly and often clashing with dedicated fans on either side.
