This video does not do them justice. Their sound was much bigger than what this portrays. This song will be remembered for many years to come.

Personally, I like CR Kennedy and Olentangy versions better. They're still pretty good though, and this version is a little more creative; nice use of back drop and props!!

First of all, Olentangy's vocals are MUCH better. Olentangy uses more dynamic contrast, without shouting. Olentangy's diction is much more clear and they're WAY better intonation-wise. Cheographically speaking, Olentangy's and CR Kennedy's cheography is much cleaner. I'm sorry, but what truely matters in a show choir is vocals and cheography, not expensive, flashy props, they're nice but not required. My views do not represent the views of any show choir, they are my own personal opinion

nor does my opinion reflect any group, first of all this is a video so if you haven't seen all of the groups live, you can't be comparing vocals. but really East puts on a SHOW, i think that what SHOW - CHOIR is really about. Yes they did have props(east isn't known for having BIG props), but i'm sorry that helped them have a better show;

and yea if you look at it "Choreographically speaking," East's is much more stylized and difficult; so yeah if you think "jazz hands" and other dance moves similar to that, are representative of this song & is clean choreography, then fine. I don't want this to turn into an argument, but when i think of SHOWCHOIR and a good Show i don't think all about the score sheet.

I don't want to turn it into an argument either, I'm simply interested in a civil discussion and debate. I was never out for an arguement. There's no doubt this choir's acting and props are top notch, but acting isn't everything. True powerhouse groups, such as Ankeny, Mt. Zion, Buffalo Grove, have astonishing acting skills AS WELL AS having astoundingly clear cheography and vocals.

Even though video's often fail to properly represent vocal talent, the rankings don't. Even though the rating system has its flaws, it isn't completely wrong. Olentangy is ranked 16th and CR Kennedy is ranked 18th, whereas Souix City East is tied for 66th.

I think each person is entitled to their own opinion and I respect everyone's opinions even if they differ from my own. However, referring to the ranking system is not the best way to back up your opinion due to the obvious flaws in the system (I know you mentioned the flaws, but you are still quoting the system). For example, Sioux City East beat Lewis Central (ranked 46), Lincoln Southwest (ranked 40), and Bloomington Kennedy (ranked 37) this year and all obviously ranked above East.

Yeah, but CR Xavier beat Souix City East at Benton, whereas at Linn Mar, CR Kennedy won 1st runner up, whereas CR Xavier didn't even make finals.

I am not saying Sioux City East is better than Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Olentangy, or anyone for that matter...all I am saying is that the Show Choir Rating is highly flawed and should not be used as a basis for anything.

I hope you didn't take this as me degrading Souix City East. They're a rather good choir and at the end of the day what truely matters in show choir sportsmanship and having fun.

I didn't take it that way at all and thanks for the nice words. All I was trying to accomplish with my post was to show that the Ranking System isn't accurate...at all, not to bash anyone's opinions or ideas.
