The dicision "no foul" was correct, since this shot was so close, that it was almost impossible to tell without having a slow-motion replay like we do. If the ref would've seen the foul, it would've been a correct decision. But if it's that hard to tell and you're in doubt, you have to decide on no foul.

It would be easier to judge if you showed the entire shot. Did the cue ball travel along the tangent line of the 3-ball or the 9-ball after contact? That will give you the answer to whether the hit was good or not.

You can also tell by the way the cueball continues its path. Check youtube for a referee-quiz. Its a quiz with all kinds of problems like this and how to conclude whether this was a foul.

No.... if it had hit the nine ball first the nine ball would have taken a different trajectory. This video doesnt show the 3 ball ball moving first, because of the Framerate.. The 3 ball is moving first, but it isn't shown because it is moving so slowly.

The 9 ball took the trajectory it should have, if the cue ball impacted the 3 first and then caromed into it.... i see no foul here.

Im saying that you simply cannot say from that video, and from that angle, with that low frame rate, and with his cue just infront of the ball everyone is trying to see if it beraly moved!

@mousitsoula I do play pool and I understand the point you're trying to make. Unfortunately, I do not agree the framerate is to blame. I believe there is enough evidence to conclude that it was a foul and I remember watching this entire match. I remember it was also obvious by the path the cue ball took after the contact of the two balls but it was so long ago I'd have to see it again. I love bustamante and I was very sad to see him lose but I, personally, can't deny that it was a foul

hate to be that guy but there is no such thing as a split. it is impossible to hit two balls at exact same time. one will hit before other. even if it was a good hit I dont see any balls hitting a rail afterwards. BAD HIT

The overhead shot that they only show once lcearly shows a bad hit, the 9 gets hit WAY before the 3. Who cares about seeing 50 replays from the worst angle imaginable, the first showing of the shot from overhead shows a clear foul.

Bustamante vs. Peach. Bustamante is on the hill and gets bad position on the 3 ball. He has to kick at it. What you don't see is that after he kicks at the 3 ball he actually makes the nine. He thought he won. The ref(s)reviewed the hit a million times before ruling it a foul. In my opinion it was a foul. I see the 9 ball moving before the 3 ball. Peach gets ball in hand and goes on to win the match. I believe it happened in the Phillipines. The crowd was really roudy after that call.
