  • i would have to disagree, and say that Scarface's version is better. This up-beat piano melody is much better matched by scarfaces rap, which is lighter and fits better.

  • what came first? this version or scarface's

  • Thet beat is very famous

  • Lame quality....

  • My Block - Scarface

  • thats what i meant by the original, do you know any others

  • M.O.P. is the original this song came out in '96 dude, scarface was 2002

  • done after this...

  • Scarface-My block

  • tupac - on my block

    scarface - on my block

  • roberta flack if u like that kinda music, she created the beat in question. Crazy huh? i never knew that either, the name of the song is Be Real Black for Me, by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. Almost every rap track with a beat u love is from some old school track, even those weird ones like Poppa was a Playa by Nas( Eddie Kendricks), Regrets by JayZ but I forgot who made the original all old 70's music, that was the generation that had the best music, late 60's and 70's in my opinion.

  • how did billy danez get so fat

  • Fuck 5o!

    Das isch rap kolleq!

  • thats real rap

  • Beat is Fireee!!!!!!!!!! end of the Golden Era of Hip Hop 96

  • agreed bro the newer "hip-hop" should be burned and lost to history.... or called something else.... i would prefer the first idea

  • BD and lil fame! love these fucking niggas

  • Its hard to find gangster rap with good production and straight smash mouth lyrics thank god they kept it real and left g-unit if the same shit that happened with mob deep happened to m.o.p id would've been sooo shitty. Right for keepin real m.o.p

  • one of these niggas is my homegirls popz

  • 1:10 - 1:13 is my ringtone =D

  • it needs to be

  • the beat is whats dope

  • I can't believe how the fuck 50 cent can sell more than this masterpiece?!?!

  • no one is interested in 'real' shit, just posers, so posers will blow up and real cats will struggle. if u think about it, there can be no other explanation. ur probably a real dude which is y u feel that way, cuz i say the same shit all the time. how can cats hear this and prefer 50, its crazy to me, i really cant c what anyone likes about 50 or g unit all together.

  • well this duo in particular kind of have a "menacing street" sound and would be considered bad influences, right... so that's probably the biggest argument about them.. yet the record execs attempt to market more "Crowd friendly" poppy sounding universally appealing artists, and 50 cent and the latter are chosen. What I don't get it that they also have violence, misogyny and bad influences in their lyrics, yet somehow THEY are marketed, and M.O.P. etc are screwed over?

  • no fuckin doubt bruh, this shit is off tha hooook and i would play any day over any 50 cent song.

  • @NGTzz Because these kids are a bunch of faggots these days

  • @NGTzz agreed

  • @NGTzz because people just listen to what evers on the radio they dont take the time to but some cd's and lp's from the golden age of hip hop they just buy soulja boy lil wayne shit their all faggots that be rappin nowadays

  • @NGTzz because they dont take the time to go buy cd's and lp's from the golden age of hip hop they just listen to the gay shit on the radio like lil wayne what a pussy he never went to jail he went back to elementary school to get his sixth grade diploma

  • @NGTzz i hear ya dude, but simply the times were different. thats it thats all; sad but true.

  • @NGTzz Well to tell you the truth 50 Cent is a good rapper...but he does have his commercial wack side but you gotta listen to his mixtapes to give him justice. I think 50 has been given the wrong image because of his radio music but nothing can touch MOP, Big L, KRS, Gangstarr, Nas Redman Wu Tang na' meen. THats why im glad I was born in '92 to be able to nod to these artists rather than these lil waynes and soulja boys.

  • @DameSmiff You were born in 1992? LMFAO. You still a young'n. Don't you like Justin Bieber?

  • @Ticalist You didnt read anything that was in my comment...but the year I was born and you can only come up with such an immature comment like that

  • @DameSmiff I did read what you wrote it's just I don't see you listening to this in '94. Anyway, I guess it's like them rock lovers and reggae lovers who like music that was before they could understand what music is. So I'm guessing that if that is the case you would be interested in samples used by DJ's like Eric B, Premier, DJ Polo, DJ Muggs and all the rest of them? Don't take what I wrote to heart man.

  • @Ticalist Yea ur probably right but when justin bieber (one of the top gayest things to happen to music) is mentioned all of a sudden it gets real

  • @DameSmiff I'll stop joking with you. It's a song by Roberta Flack called "be real black for me". A guy called KBoogs719 posted the same cut, he's further up the page and did it a year ago. It's good you take pride in what you like. Peace!

  • @(EVERYBODY)

Don't argue over shit on here wtf

Just listen to the fucking music and LIKE IT.

If you dont then how did you even get here?

the one person who disliked this is more gay than rainbows and 2 guys kissing.

It's cool to argue something like thats necessary but Cmon, really?

M.O.P niggas are straight G & will blow 50 the fuck outta the frame

  • @NGTzz record labels need to stop that whack shit they be promotin

  • @NGTzz thats cause 50 is good radio crap music and not true from the street style hip hop

  • chillest song ever

  • @SimenYO1 But still gangsta.

  • I brought that album because of this song...

  • mad dope

  • Yup it is donny hathaway

  • dope shiaaat

  • 1 of my FAVORITE M.O.P. tracks!!

  • DOWNTOWN SWINGA 96 IS THE SHIZZLE

  • Thats Rap Music !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yup thats it

  • where did the beat of this song come from? I know it came from a different song but dont know the name.......tight beat

  • on my block by scarface

  • scarface is tight but sorry dude this predates scarface by 6 years

  • this was first, before scarface my block, and its not the beat, its the piano loop that is the same. which is sampled off an old soul song, of which I can't remember!

  • scareface sampled it for the track on my block. in terms of the original i have no clue.

  • Maybe a late reply but: Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway - Be real black for me.

  • Classic. Souns like a Primo beat. Is it?
