All acts are selfish. No matter what you do, you're doing it for an end result that positively affects yourself in some way. Even the most seemingly unselfish things we do are in actuality, done for our own benefit with the added side effect of helping the other person. Suicide is no different than anything else we do in life and is no more cowardly or selfish than tying your shoes. It just has a more noticeable effect on the external world. For some it may be the only option.

So many "what if" thoughts, wishes to go back in time, etc. And she was so smart, wise, had a home, etc. I kept on thinking it was a bad dream, hoping that I had a hallucination, that I went crazy..... Thank you for sharing, it's painful and I wish I had the power to prevent it. It will be on my mind for a very long time.

I'm a Muslim & in my religion it's forbidden for one to take anyones life or his own. That's why we don't have muslims who just go kill themselves after being depressed over any reason..
