  • I wonder if 3028 and/or 1533 will be restored next

  • @Strasburg1991 It would be nice if 1533 would.

  • @rgerhardtembarq how much would it take for 1533 to be restored to operation

  • @Strasburg1991 A lot of money. It is rusting away in the back of the shed. A lot of parts are missing, and will probably need a lot of new parts. It might take 10-15 years if they would start now.

  • @rgerhardtembarq you never know, the only thing that 1533 needs is a new boiler, and some of the old eqipment could be put up for sale to raise the money, i could put my hands on that 10-wheeler

  • @Strasburg1991 Thay are slowly rebuilding the 10-wheeler. But about 1533, it is no doubt that it will need a BIG overhaul. It has been sitting their for 25+ Years! Boiler definetly, firebox, cab, wheels, driving rods, those are just the big things!

  • @rgerhardtembarq what about putting some equipment up for sale to increase funds

  • @Strasburg1991 Such as what?

  • @rgerhardtembarq some diesels and some passenger and freight eqpipment that doesnt belong in the collection

  • @Strasburg1991 I don't know, I mean they don't have a lot to sell.

  • Good video. I appreciate your excitement, but there is no way 40 is going anything above 25 mph here. I worked on the NH&I from 1991 til 1997 and believe me, the NH to Lahaska stretch was in way better shape then now and we never went above 25-30 speed limit. But again, great shots and presentation.

  • You tube wont let me post the link, but in search type New Hope Ivyland 1991. A video of the 40 at a much higher speed can be seen after heavy rehab of the trackage.

  • @Shahoofah Thanks, I will be sure to change the desc. Also, I saw the video. #40 has changed a lot. Thanks!

  • @OddlyEntertaining O ok, thanks. Sorry for the confusion. And I understand you work at the Black River and Western Railroad?

  • @rgerhardtembarq The summer of 2007 I helped out a little on 60's restoration. But I am currently in my 5th year employed at the NH&I. I am a steam and diesel engineer, fireman, conductor and I also work in the shop.

  • @OddlyEntertaining I am waiting for a cab ride in #40! See, I am only 12 years old, also waiting to be a voluteer on New Hope, also. Railroading is in my blood. And am also waiting for #60 to be getting going, too. I understand that she has some more inspections. Also, I see that New Hope has a bigger steam locomotive in the yard, will that be operating on the railroad? I have further questions, but I will leave you this for now.
