  • 1:34 is when he finally starts jumping...

  • I can't back Squat but i do pistol squats 4x2-4 reps with 35lbs in each hand

    i still can't touch the rim!!! i'm 151lbs and 5 ft 8

  • Anybody that is thinking about buying this should. I have been doing it about a week, and it has already made big difference. I'm 13 (6 ft.) and when I started I could grab the rim. And,believe it or not,I just had my first dunk today. It was a 10 ft. rim.

  • @adidasskatejunkee Awesome man congrats!

  • wtf r u guys talking about ive seen ike 200 videos saying vertical jump nd there running learn ur words dip shits

  • @mrscrub93 ?? I honestly don't understand what you're talking about. Can you clarify?

  • @freejumptraining he just means that vertical is usually defined by a stand still jump as opposed to running and jumping

  • @Jordan34

Glad it worked for you too. I was also using that training

and it did what it promised! In just less than 3 weeks, It

starts increasing my vertical. Couldn't be more happier

with this training.. Anyway, you misspelled the site name.

    JumpHigher.info

  • u should try high jump :D

  • how tall are you?

  • @killerjunior23 6'3 and some change.

  • damn. he has ups

  • That shit is legit just look at his feet. He's far away from the ground. i want the jump manual but to young to buy it myself and no help from parents. can you post some jump manual workouts? just a little. you can do in a school weight room.

  • That rim is NOT 10 feet..

  • @NewTunesAllTheTime measured it with a tape measure. AND more importantly, had it inspected by the online rim police.

  • isnt a vertical supposed to be from a stationary position?

  • @SuperObligatory a standing no step vertical is... this is a running 2 step.

  • @freejumptraining What is your standing vertical?

  • @freejumptraining that is more than two steps stop bein a puss and go from a stationary position

  • Hey. I bought the jump manual but i dont know how to access it. I messaged the online jumpmanual support. Can you help me?

  • @TheEscapeAttempt should get an answer in 12 hours or less.

  • holy bjeebus

  • dam man

  • I was like "yeah he will touch the rim. Everyone can do that..."

And then I was like OMG cat

  • @MrDarkKobe24 Actually most people can't do that lol, even high school athletes

  • @AmateurGuitarCovers Yes I know I can't even touch the backboard lol. What I meant is that most of the dunk videos I see is a short guy touching the rim

  • @MrDarkKobe24 Lol, it's okay, even though I don't believe everyone can dunk, you can still add several inches, and with hard work you might have it, there's your daily youtube inspiration.

  • I believe thats about a 42 inch vert

  • @JamesHodge94 Right about that... busted my shoulder could jump much (arm swing was ripping it) or do heavy exercises... I"m back down to about 40 on a good day, but guarantee I'll beat my old records... which should mean head injury!

  • @freejumptraining Haha yeah watch that head of your up there!

  • y is it called FREE jump training if it isnt free? i need some answers, cause i want to jump high, probably just like everyone else searching these "free videos"

  • @CreamyJFluff I have lots of free training videos, and I also have my paid program.

  • why correct the man just enjoy the video lol

  • amigo por favor decime cuanto medis en centimetros

  • Because 3D motion analysis methods that account for center of mass are labour intensive and costly, the next best thing would be a flight time method with a high sampling rate. Other direct displacement methods are generally regarded as less accurate, but are commonly used because they are cheap, outcome-oriented, and can be used to process loss of test candidates quickly. No computer is necessary. Hence why the Vertec is used for the NFL and NBA combines.

  • The 3 methods for measuring vertical are:

    1) Direct Displacement Methods (Vertec, 3D-camera motion analysis)

    2) Flight Time Methods (Jump mats and force plates)

    3) Impulse Momentum Method (force plates only)

Ideally, we could measure the same individual vertical jump effort simultaneously using all these methods, and this has been done in studies evaluating standing countermovement jumps, but not running vertical jumps because force plates aren't practical (large/safe) enough.

  • Flight time was 26 frames at most (29.97fps), meaning a 36 inch jump at most. Not sure where you got 42. Relying on a projected view from a low placed camera exaggerates how close your head is to the rim. High speed videography/photography & optical measurement systems (Optojump & IR-mat) directly measure flight time and would be far more accurate at measuring your vertical. Even a vertec would suffice if measuring your standing reach in plantar flexion. 36 is still a good jump though.

  • @Mokrybeans my jumps were measured with a tape measure, and have been on multiple occasions. Video was shot with a mobile phone, rendered in sony vegas, and then rendred by youtube. That said... I'm still interested in your calculation method. Video was shot in ethiopia... To give you an idea that rim is measured 10 foot.... actually measured. I stand at 6'3-4... you really think my head is 8 inches from the rim?

  • @freejumptraining your video significantly overestimates the true vertical displacement travelled by your center of mass for the following reasons:

    1) Observer vantage point (camera) is clearly below 10ft, thus subjecting the observer to a projection error

    2) The maximum height achieved during the jump may occur in front of the leading edge of the rim, thus exaggerating 1

    3) Deliberately swinging both arms down at your jump apes only increases your head hight, not your center of mass.

  • All these reasons can easily explain an overestimation of greater than or equal to 6 inches. Flight time measurements using an instrument with a measurement frequency of 30Hz for flight times < 1 second would clearly be more accurate, and increasing the measurement frequency would only increase this accuracy.

  • @Mokrybeans lol

  • @Mokrybeans I already had this passed by the strength and conditioning police and it passed inspection though ;)

  • @freejumptraining "passed by strength and conditioning police"???... never seen people measure vertical like this in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. And this is clearly because it is scientifically inaccurate.

  • @Mokrybeans lol, it's an inside joke about the story of the video... thought you might know what I was talking about. This is getting a bit serious...

  • @Mokrybeans Interesting to measure frames... you'd be better of trying to measure total flight time in milliseconds rather than number of frames... If my camera would have shot at 60 FPS I could then double my vertical?

  • @freejumptraining Optojump and IR-mat have sampling rates of 1000 Hz; much better I agree than relying on the 29.97Hz I used here. Still, a crude measure of flight time is more accurate than what you're trying to do, as I've explained above. If you can't understand why increasing the sampling rate would increase the accuracy at determining your flight time and hence the accuracy of your vertical jump, then I'm sorry but you clearly need to do more reading on measuring vertical jump.

  • @Mokrybeans I was just talking about using a frame rate... you were earlier saying FPS... and I just thought that was interesting. It's all good man, I'm not here to get petty... you think this is 36 good onya. Thanks for coming by....

  • @Mokrybeans tape measure on site... measuring highest reach to highest touch.

  • @Mokrybeans It's all good man, you seem very knowledgeable... I don't wanna get petty or get into a YT showdown... Fact is, I don't show this using a scientific test so it's up for grabs anyways...

  • @Mokrybeans shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • how old are you? im curious if age henders your vertical.

  • your trouble landing and absorbing the shock from a jump tells me youre not a very dynamic dunker. although you are probably very strong in the weight room.

  • @inmymind801 nice crystal ball ;) check my other dunk video...

  • @inmymind801 are u high? have u not seen the other video

  • @EastFartVideoCompany 0 windmills, 0 360's. Im not denying his power, but trust me theres a lot of balance and coordination, as well as force absorption that go into doing those kinds of dunks. I didnt start getting better at windmills until i focued on things outside of just a max squat.

  • u got alot of ups

  • @peterlaveus thanks breh

  • So can you dunk?

  • @AmuricaFootball check my dunk vid.

  • SEE white men can jump!!!!!

  • WOW

  • do u get damaged when u come back to earth?

  • Comment removed

  • Way to prove it man!!! Especially for us "older" dunkers. Now one believed I could get 40" after 30 yrs either. I am now 34.5 years and can still get 40".....I can get mid 30's pretty easily. I am the same in that I had not though of recording im prime. I was 5'9" and could dunk on a 10' 6" rim. Wish I had footage of it.

  • nice hops!!

  • is a 63 cm (probs about 30 inches) vertical good for a 14 year old?

  • @sakon44 pretty good ..... 63 is like 26 ~ inches ...... i was like 20-21 inches leaping off one foot at age 13-14 and 4-5 years later i reached 41 inches .... now i'm down again :(

  • @FLA3H91 thanks for the info

  • @freejumptraining man, if you re jacob in this channel props to you for this amazing vertical! i was very sceptical of your product at first but now im plain amazed hoping to ever have the money to buy it!

so, i got some questions if you may answer: my vert is at 33 standing-almost 35 running and i started from 16 standing

can i get to 40 inches in 2 years of hard training? i ve been using heavy squats and half squats+explisive jumps with weight and some non specific plyos, is that enough?

  • @alejandrothefader Good question... too big to answer here. If you don't mind going here: freeverticaljumptraining DIZOT com and click on the ASK A QUESTION link... then ask it there. You can subscribe to the answers so you know when I answer it. Thanks!

  • @freejumptraining woah, man, i just saw the page you told me.... you got yourself a god finger workout replying to all the people there :P i hope you can answer soon ;) thanks

  • @alejandrothefader We'll get to them :)

  • @freejumptraining kay man ;) cU

  • i'm 16 and 6'3, i can touch my elbow to a 10 foot rim so i measured that my elbow reaches 6'6 in the air, subtracted that from the height of the rim so i have a 42 inch vert as well

  • @baller2287 awesome hit us some vids.

  • can u give an idea of your workout

  • wow

  • FINALLY. WE ALL DOUBTED YOU! GIVE ME NOW THE FOOTAGE OF YOUR FREE THROW DUNK

  • Awwwww Yeah!!!!! Up Up and away.... Serious hops there brother!

  • @BallinUSALLC thanks Scott.

  • your height scares me

  • It must feel great to make the haters eat their words after so many years of build up. Btw I'm impressed.

  • @Zebeldarebel thanks man... in the end they we're the ones who 'forced" me to drop some footage... worked out really well.

  • Way to jump, skywalker!

  • Good video. I have lost what little vertical I had. Now I can only just touch the rim. I used to be able to get 6 inches above the rim and I was happy with that(I could barely dunk... And I do mean barely). Now I am going to really get into this program and see what happens. One thing I think I need to improve is my weight... I think I am too muscular... Is it possible to be too muscular for jumping? I mean I don't have a gut or anything but I just feel heavy!

  • @Dmain1Event I have an article on my blog about that on the home apge.

  • Great form Jacob! That step in was perfect!

  • @AmateurGuitarCovers Thanks man!

  • hey what are your max lifts jacob?

  • @sunami108 not nearly good enough... my deadlift is my best and its 525... my butt and ham are strong but have weak quads... massive imporvements will come from that.

  • wow thats an awesome deadlift, how about your leg press?

  • Ya your jump is so explosive and quick..

  • wow

  • I always believed!!!! Your humble padawan awaits instructions :-D Good stuff bro!

  • @mikia973 haha thanks man!

  • Sick, rim is definitely 10fT!

  • how tall is this guy?

  • @KingRockets Dude is just a hair shy of 6'4" not sure why I gotta mention that hair... hahah...

  • Wow your head is up there-- you might as well go ahead and kiss the rim:) would love to talk with you about getting another inch or 2-- like you need it-- thanks for sharing

  • @stretchexpert I'm shooting for a lot more inches... this is just the beginning, I've still got some pretty blaring weaknesses. HOw about some groin prehab exercises? That's my one worry right now... aside from common knee injuries, but right now my knees feel amazing, I've done alot of prehab and stabilizing for that.

  • man you should sell this for free cause i wanna do this thing so badly

  • wow! that's impressive Jacob! thanks for posting!

  • @myjumpmanual thanks... nice screen name ;)

  • @freejumptraining - yep...now just got get my vertical just a little closer to yours! Posting my progress with Jump Manual each week on my youtube page. Keep the videos coming!

  • i want this manual so baddd i hate it so much that i cant buy it because i have no money im 16 and really, really want increase my vert bad you got any free tips for me to jump higher?

  • @ImmaAidan check out my blawg dawg...

  • @freejumptraining what kind of shoes are you wearing in this video? I'm in need of some new boots for the court? And I haven't had a new pair of bball shoes in over eight years, so I'm not really versed in what's decent in todays market.

  • @TEmericDamienThorpe Koby's love em..

  • nice jump, legit.

  • @chase4three thanks man!

  • looks more than 42 too me haha

  • @MrAirJacobs sounds good to me ;) HOnestly though 42 is what I think this one is... no more no less. But better jumps coming soon.

  • nice jump man, definitely legit. congrats on your progress.

  • @LanceSTS Thanks man preciate that... more to come soon.

  • I'd love this video to be spammed with the 50 inch dot com spam that usually happens to jumping videos :D

  • @Raptorel that would be neat.. real neat!

  • Is that UK? They have rims like that over there

  • @FireSwordProductions Ethiopia

  • whats PC?

  • @vincentlcarter Posterior Chain

  • Respect. Great jump Jacob.

  • massive props on this vid, most people who get called out for so long never prove the doubters wrong, but this video does just that, definitely 40+

looking forward to more footage & looking forward to seeing you get head on rim and higher.. feedback is already looking good, i doubt you will get much haters on this video, like i said in our convo lmao. i would stop feeling like people are going to hate on your future vids, with footage like that, wont happen

consider my anus raped, good job :)

  • @adarqui Thanks man... head to rim by August eh? CU there ... I'm looking forward to see how it's recieved overall, maybe I'll release a little dunk vid real soon... and then just keep it rolling. Gonsta get me a tripod...Thanks for your integrity...

  • @freejumptraining ya man hope you get it, you're definitely not far off, 2-4".. i imagine a dunk vid would look pretty freaky, especially some monstrous lobs.. maybe try practicing some 4-step runups if you dont already? that right there could eventually solve that 2 inch issue real quick, just a little more momentum/speed into that runup, handled properly, would get you those inches.. there's lots of strength in that jump.

ya man np, gonna edit the original post of the derp thread hah.

    pC

  • @adarqui hahah lol to be honest this go round I was kind of testing out all the PC stuff you here but... Quads bro... seen a ton of gain on quad work. My quads are still my weak point but that's changing fast. With that some more reactive / plyo work and a bit more speed and I'll be back at rim level soon... barring any injury! I'm pumped... based on feedback I'll release a dunk or so soon...

  • @freejumptraining : quadnation4lyfe.. i love the PC, glutes/calves are apart of it, but people who get obsessed about the hamstrings for vert blow my mind.. quads/glutes/calves/shoulder power/hamstrings.. the one main issue the p-chain nazis have, is they neglect their quad development in favor of "recruiting the hamstrings & glutes more", glutes will recruit at any depth of squat, just got to go heavy.

ya injuries suck, don't even like talking about them.

nice man cant wait to see some dunks.

  • @adarqui Do you think the hams play a roll in hip extension?

  • @freejumptraining sure, but it's a very small role.. significant nonetheless, but you the primary hip extensors are the glutes.. combine the powerful hip extension of the glutes with the highest contribution from the quads in knee extension, then allow the calves to help plantar flex and give you that extra pop at the top, and that's the majority of what contributes to VJ.. if you look at all of the GENETIC JUMPERS, the freaks, they are so quad/calve dominant it's insane, contreras did some nice

  • @adarqui research on it in that article in the "articles subforum", the one on sc.com.. studied kenny dobbs, good info in there.. that's pretty much all it boils down to really.. hamstrings are very important for top speed though so, they can't be neglected in training, they just shouldn't be the focus of VJ training that's for sure.. basketball for one is very quad dominant, even the sprints are only accels etc, that's high contribution of glute/quad, ham dev is more important for injuryprevimo

  • @adarqui interesting stuff. I've seen some on Contreras stuff and when we get our EMG setup next month I hope to start doing some of my own tests as well. Gonna go check out that article.

  • @adarqui whats that site man?

  • Really nice man, good thinking making this video.

  • It is about dang time!!

  • @SystemsofNervous lol I figured if I didn't show vids of what I claimed in the past people would hate...

  • damn u got bounce..

  • how much is the jump manual

  • impressive
