  • Thats dumb.

  • lol why are all these skinny nerd / virgins commenting saying he's doing it wrong.

The guy is a pro-natural bodybuilder with a PHD.

  • isnt doing goodmornings with a belt kind of counter-productive? lol

  • @gruhonjic Actually, if you're doing a good-morning properly, the lower back stays isometric (no movement) to keep the back straight. The movement is created by the hamstrings and the gluteus maximus. A belt would therefore not be counter productive. And, that looked like a pretty good technique.

  • @gruhonjic No.

  • Honestly man those looked perfect! I have been training westside style For the past 8 weeks. Week 7 and 8 Involves good morning squatting I personally love them I felt so great after hitting 385 tonight! I bend over extra far sometimes just to get the proper depth! Keep up the scolid work brotha! Keep me posted on further workouts!

  • The only way to make your lower back stronger is by working it. So many ppl ate afraid to do this.

  • definitely not a good morning squat lmao....bro youre gonna destroy your back!

  • very dangerous man were not made to be machines ahah

  • ow ow ow ow ow my fucking back ow

  • r u fucking nuts shake your head man

  • Hell yeah, more Layne Norton vids!? I already feel the blood flowing!

  • Layne! I didn't even know this was you til I watched another vid! Man, ok. I really need your help. I know I can trust your advice and form, but i'm about to start using this along with a powerlifting routine from some of the guys I work out with, but do you have any advice for first time good morning squaters? Thanks Bro!

  • Not a good morning squat. Looks more like a way to produce a back injury to me.

  • @wookieeassassin

Agreed, I felt the pain in my back from just watching 0:36

That curve is not good at all, looked like it was going to snap.

  • Hey layne do you do these as assistance lift?

  • dont know if you do these often, but try bending at the knees a bit during the good morning, and think about sitting back instead of down. This will help you stay tighter and allow you to handle more weight. Giver a try!

  • Horrible form.

  • @onslaughtlz horrible form? what in the hell are you talking about? read layne's title... good morning squats....oviously a good morning which hitts the lower back, glutes, and ham strings mixed with a standered squat that was perfect form for the exersize that layne indicated that he was doing, a natural pro like layne norton didnt make it to the pro ranks because he practices horrible form...

  • @blondiecat15

are you kidding me? Ok. This is a half-goodmorning-mixed-with-shitty-squat form.

That about sums it up. It starts alright actually, except he's round his back and not ending in proper goodmorning-"stance", and actually ending in full squat position(???? why??)

It's not proper form, please no one do replicate this: there's is no "straight back"/correct arching. His "core" isn't tight, and this simply isn't a proper goodmorning. So do not use this guys style, for your own safety.

  • @onslaughtlz thats why layne is a natural "PRO" and you are???

  • @blondiecat15

That's a stupid argument, so I suppose you're a woman. You can't compare a theorist to an athlete, or try to apply the necessary skills of an athlete to the theorist. A lot of pros have wrong technique (not weightlifters, so your argument is invalid.

  • @onslaughtlz nope not a woman, im just a guy on his wifes screen name...so your a theroist huh? so you are the skinny guy that critizies everybodies form and techinque and have never actually touched a weight themself much less ever grown the balls to compete? am i right? i will agree that form is very important but his form isnt bad if u dont believe me put 365lbs on your back and do a good morning squat big boy and see where your form stands...

  • @blondiecat15 You're so stupid. Of course I lift weights, I could easily do a 240 pound goodmorning, and maybe 280 pound goodmorning squat. Doesn't change the fact, that this guy is retarded for lifting so fucking incorrect with a heavy load. Idiot(s).

  • @onslaughtlz stupid huh? so you can do good morning squats with 280lbs you say? well when you start moving some real weight then you can critize me and layne until then? how bout you just shut up... p.s. layne keep lifting like you are brother this cat is just jealous bc ur lovely fiance prolly moves more iron than he can...good luck at future events bro and i hope to have the privaledge to meet you one day and jsyk you are an ispiration to me and the reason i still train and compete natural

  • @onslaughtlz OMG!!!!! 240 Pound Good-morning. STFU and give credit were credit is due. That was A strong lift with decent form and you sound like a Fawking hater brah.

  • good technique unlike most people i see preform them

  • way to get pumped up and yell your so awesome........

  • cool exercise never seen that before

  • GOOOOOOOO LAYNE

  • great combination of good mornings and squats. Keep up the good work!

  • I have to say, that is really really amazing what you just did there. Congratulations, I love the way you train, you train like there's no tomorrow. That's a HELL of a lot of weight to do with good morning squats. Good luck with ur training goals and I wish you the best in the near future on your bodybuilding aims.
