  • mines better

  • What's the difference between the TI-NSpire with touchpad and the TI NSpire CAS with touchpad???? I'm a high school student and I heard that the CAS cannot be used in some tests, but which one do you recommend????

  • @Andy87GDR The CAS is a computer alegbra system. look on ti website they have a list of what exams it can be used on but i recommend waiting i bought mine like 2 days ago then found out the CX and CX Cas is coming out it has twice the memory, lcd 320X240 color backlit screen, and that is about it. i think it also has wifi and they said it should only cost 20 bucks more asethically it just doesn't have the bumps that are on the side it looks like a rectangle i guess you can say.

  • This aint somethin you buy just for "2+2=4"

  • I am going to stick with my 1992 calculator with extra large buttons

  • WAYYYY too complicated im going to stick with my trusty ti-30x-IIs

  • i prefer maple instead of this too small screen:p

  • I'm just curious if the TI-Nspire can solve this:

    (exp(ln(1+1.23456E-608))-1)*1E608

If the CAS really works, it should be able to do this. It's easy.

  • @G10000holder

Yes it can calculate the answer. The only part of that mathematical expression that could cause a calculator trouble is the very high exponents. The Nspire can handle values raised to as high as the 999th power.

  • @Staltercj does this calc. have a higher resolution than the ti voyage 200? :O

  • i just did it. it says the answer is 0.

  • i gotta say that this has to be the best calculator on the world. i want one so bad!

  • @wheely132 until the CX and CX Cas comes out lol

  • @shadowtsunami lmao

  • quick question: are you 100% sure that I will be allowed to use this during my examination? i'm in an IB school

  • @RISINGTENSION

I'm not sure what is allowed in "IB School." However, this calculator is allowed on the ACT and in most high schools. I would talk to someone from your math department to find out.

  • @Staltercj Also SAT and AP Exams.

  • @RISINGTENSION If I am not mistaken, the Ti-Nspire CAS is not allowed in the IB exams BUT the REGULAR Ti-Nspire (without CAS) IS allowed on the IB exam. You can find a chart on their website that outlines the exceptances of these calculators.

  • @RISINGTENSION i dont know if this is still relevent, but the ti nspire is said to be able to be used at the psat, sat, ap, and ib tests 'cause it lacks the qwerty keyboard

  • @RISINGTENSION i dont know if this is still relevent, but the ti nspire is said to be able to be used at the psat, sat, ap, and ib tests 'cause it lacks the qwerty keyboard, however if you have the CAS version, then it is not.

  • @RISINGTENSION im also in an ib school

  • @RISINGTENSION IB only allows ti84+ and 84+SE and some casio

  • @RISINGTENSION

you can't use the CAS in the IB program but you can use the non CAS

  • @RISINGTENSION Don't get the TI-NSpire CAS, it's not allowed in some tests, I'm going to buy the TI-NSpire (Not CAS) because it's allowed in my school, look at the Texas Instruments website, they have the exam acceptance list

  • i am allowed to use tl-nspire in my school,

but the CAS is iilegal at school, do you know why?

  • @deyomash CAS is commonly banned because of it's ability to solve equations with variables in them. If your school does not allow CAS calculators, you should get the NON CAS version.

  • @Staltercj that sucks. thus, the NON CAS can't use equations?

or only no equations with variables :/

  • @deyomash Get the CASIO fx-115ES, It can solve equations, Min-Max..Matrices, and a lot more that a graphing caclulator can do, exept graph. So it looks like a simple scientific calculator that has solved a lot of problems for me on tests.

  • i am allowed to use tl-nspire in my school,

but the CAS is iilegal at school, do you know why?

  • @deyomash because the cas can do everything

  • hi does it have algbra software built in??

  • No it has the cakculus menu to integrate and differentiate. It just has no 3D graphing, not sure if it has differential equation graphing.

  • just a word ............ CAS

  • @ jdoge12

No. Not at all. It is a completely different device. There is also a new software update that just was released. I will post that video soon.

  • So is this basically an 89 with better graphics and without the differentiation and integration ability?

  • The bottom looks quite funny :)

  • wehat does the CAS do differently than the normal one?

  • CAS stands for ComputerAlgebraSystem. With the CAS you have additional funktions like cSolve (solving of complex equations).

  • This calculator had very much been released by the date of this video's upload. I got my TI-nspire CAS in the fall of 2007. I ordered it offline from an educational products website. I have no connections, I'm just an average person in an average family.

  • The only differences between the normal and the CAS is the software. Does anyone know if it is possible to install the CAS software on the regular one?

  • I am also using this in a statistics class right now. I feel the exact opposite way, it works wonderfully for me! It blows the 84 out of the water with respect to statistical abilities, and graphical quality. if you have any questions just ask, or google your quesiton. I know there are a lot of great N-Spire help-sites out there.

  • You should still be able to programTI-BASIC, right?

Whats the key layout for getkey?

I will subscribe to the first person with the answer.

    thx

  • can you better explain your question?

  • on a ti84+ SE, the get key layout goes by row # starting from the top, and then colum # starting from the left.

    thats what i mean.

    soo... same question

  • those are soo awesome, but im content with a ti-84

  • Don't ever use an N-spire then, or you will hate your 84

  • yo i am a junior in high school...(11th)

    should i get this?

my teacher says the ti-84 but should i just get this?

  • There's a version that has a Ti-84 keypad with it and you can swap out the keypads so it's technically both. That way when you get specific instructions as Ti-84 keypresses you won't get lost.

  • not unless you're taking AP calc BC this year

  • you can algo solve equations ans systems with the normal TI-Nspire, you only need to install the software

  • be careful though, if a teacher thinks you don't have a CAS and they find out you have been using it on a test they will get angry.

  • Calculator on Top?!

    Giggity.

  • It can do pretty much everything, except wipe your ass... Now I hate all of my teachers who made me do this crap by hand.

  • how much was it?

  • $180 at most stores but at bestbuy you can get for 164, i got mine on ebay, get it there for 110 at lowest

  • i'm not sure which one i should get me.....voyage 200 or the nspire?? any ideas?

  • get the nspire but not the cas one because the the cas doesnt come with the ti-84 thing for it and most statistics books and other high math book have tutorials on how to use the calculator

  • so only this one can solve algebraic formulas, not the blue one? btw, does this also have a removable keypad like the non-cas one? can u also play games on this?

  • i've done some reseach on this calculator and this one doesn't have a removable keypad and they dont have any games out for this one. And what sucks about it is that you cant use it on some test . .

  • how do you do trigonometry on this

    please help exams comuin up!

  • how do you do algebra problems on the n spire?

like if you type in a algebra problem and want the n spire to answere the prob in step by step how do you do that?

  • I have search all google vids and youtube an have dont found, yet.. any video guide on how to use the TI-Nspire, not the TI-Nspire CAS, just the TI-NSPIRE HANDHELD

I nid to know how to solve inequations with the calculator so it can give me the values.. an other staff

Also I try the square formula in mine "nsolve(a*x2+b*x+c=0,x)" and it says error: variable not assign, it suck that the TI-Nspire handheld has some important change from the TI-Nspire CAS that i realy dont like...

  • Ti-89 Titanium is better. has support for programming which means heaps of apps

  • Or... you could get a laptop

  • can't hold a candle to the hp 50g

  • that's not a calculator. its a computer

  • @error4385

with a fancy calculator programmed on it! You an right like an English paper on that sucker.

  • voyage rulz!!!!

  • FAG

  • NERRRRRRRD >:D

    RANDYYY :(

  • my teacher is obsessed with this, he has a shirt tha t says ti-nspire certified instructor, and thas all he talks about in math class, we never learn anything, yea well u can also do this with the ti-nspire

  • I just got one and I CAN'T PUT GAMES ON IT!!!

  • You can if you pop in the 84 keypad. I regret my purchase and I've just been using the ti-84 keypad, it's virtually the same as the 84, just a little slower because of the emulation.

  • I popped it in and transferring is a pain. :(

  • Im trying to find one and I can't find the one with the CAS software.

I looked in every nook and cranny of every store and they don't have it. Only the regular nSpire

  • Try online.

  • Look online. Its hard to find since most teachers don't want their students having it. maybe check an online store for teachers?

  • my nspire with the 84 pad is EXACTLY as fast as the ti84+'s at my school

  • yeah you can . .

  • How do you work out systems of linear equations in two variables on the CAS ?

  • I cannot remember the exact form to use, but i have done it plenty of times. check an online helpsite.

  • Can you please explain the specific differences between the TI-Nspire™ and the TI-Nspire™ C.A.S.? Why does the TI-Nspire™ C.S.A. not have an Interchangeable TI-84 Plus Keypad? In addition, why is the TI-Nspire™ C.A.S. not allowed on the A.C.T. and I.B., but allowed on the S.A.T.?

  • cas stands for computer algebra system. It is not allowed on the act because of this. No idea why the cas version does not have an interchangeable keyboard. maybe look for updates?

  • guys...stop wasting your money if you'll use it for games...

  • if i get the inspire without CAS will it not be able to do anything my ti-84 can do? cuz ive heard some people say it says it has an error that says you need CAS for some features. i just want to know if it wont allow you to do any calculations that my ti 84 plus se can do

  • The cas just has some extra features in algerba, but those are used mainly in college. The nspire [wihout cas] is aimed at high school becouse it is allowed on many exams. Besided nspire [no cas] comes with a TI-84 plus keypad which emulates the actual calculator. CAS is just needed for above-high school stuff, but it doesnt have any problems (at least not with the latest OS)

  • This isn't entirely true. they CAS makes upper-level highschool classes less tedious. If you abuse the solving function, you will crash and burn, but if used in moderation, and only when things become repetitive, you will thrive. I now have both the non-cas and cas, and the cas has helped me greatly in my AP calculus class

  • I bought this thing obligatorily at school at tenth grade out of twelve. What can i do to make it useful?

  • Hi. I'm doing CAPE Maths (a bit more intense thatn GCE), and I was just wondering, does this calculator live up to all the hype? Seems nice, but that doesn't mean anything. Also, which is better, this or the HP 50g?

  • Nice calculator, especially with the CAS. Around here (Texas), TI offers big discounts if you buy your calculator through the school. A new TI84 Silver Edition which the school district recommends and uses in teaching can be purchased new for $39. I will look into TInspire to see if it offers anything I need but don't have in my TI 89 Titanium. So far, they look very similar. GraphFunc and Maxima's CAS (free computer downloads) are good too and faster than calculators. dkw

  • How much do the Ti 89 Titanium's cost?

  • At Walmart, the TI89 Titanium and the TI Nspire both sell for the same price...$149.

  • LOL we here in belgium pay like 100 euro for TI 84 Plus , and thats in discount lol.

TI Nspire from school is 60 euro

  • just that you moved your camera alot... so i can't really see what the screen looks like in detail lol

but i saw your video before i bought it

    and its helpful thanks

  • finnally!!! i got my ti nspire cas! yay!

it like... came in just 2 days! =]]

  • where did u gdt the serial code and that from :( i need a serial code to activate

  • please, anybody who is using TI-Nspire can provide me with both, The serial number and activation number. I want to use it for my studies in Mathematics at the University.

  • Thank you for responding me, I believe you, that some of the products you cannot activate them twice or using serials more than the limit. But I have an advise for you, is to contact the retailer to provide with new one as long as you keep the old one, and will tell to use it as much as you can as you keeping the serials or activation code in your custody.

  • Thank you very much for this presentation.

    It was very fruitful.

Could you please be kind and send me the serial number and license number of this software so I can activate it on my PC. Cause I am student in Mathematics and like to use this wonderful thing and I can't offer one, only downloading the software from original website.

  • I'd love to. But the numbers can only be used once. I stupidly installed the software on an older computer first and now I cannot install it on the PC that I would prefer.

  • I picked up the Nspire and realized that doing algebra I & II is not as "easy" as with the CAS version.

  • it is. you just have to learn the new methods. once you get them down things move very smoothly

  • can u use this for the sat?

  • yup

  • yeah, and on the act. its great because it can solve nearly any equation, yet it has slipped through the test-creators fingers.

  • the ACT will not let you use the Nspire CAS edition. you can use the original one, but not the cas

  • hmmm. that is odd. i got it last year when it was only available to teachers and i let my friends use it for the act and nothing was said about it. i guess they have caught up now...

  • It depends on the testing facility. Sometimes you can get away with bringing a TI-89 there.

  • I meant to hit thumbs up. sowwy

  • SO pretty! x

  • ahh i meant to hit thumbs up

    sorry

  • looks like one of those old gameboy's haha

  • i just got one today... it was soo hard to open from it's plastic covering

  • No fair X_X

    I bought a ti 83 last year and now there's a new one X_X thats 10 times better :D

    nice

  • just got this calculator, have no idea how to use it, thing is big as hell though.

  • does the ti-84 keypad come with all of them?

  • if you get the regular version it does but if you get the CAS only version it doesn't

  • You can't create programs. Yet....

Also, you have no idea of the capabilities of the drag function on graphs. You can drag to change the slope, zoom in or out, move the actual line, change the scale, all without going to window options. Also, you can simply hold down the click to grab. Finally, if you hit control G, the f(x)= thing at the bottom goes away (hit it again to get it back. Plus hundreds of other awesome things.... It's fucking amazing. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eventually itll happen

    Amazing!!!

  • yes it is! its saves so much time

  • And no. The TI-Nspire has a different programming language than the other calculators, so Mirage OS or any game programs won't work. Texas Instruments hasn't released the programming language yet, so no one can make programs besides them yet... could be a while. I'm content, however, to just sit and mess around with all its other amazing features until then!

  • Yes.

  • hey i was juz wondering would you rather buy this calc or the casio classpad 330??? that one has touch screen but i dont know if this one has more stuff or something plz reply

  • lol... i used to work for TI as a developer on this product up until yesterday :-) its an awesome calculator...

  • Sweet :)

  • I <3 my TI Nspire Cas+ =D, protos ftw

  • Hey, since you have connections, can you get me one. Just talk to your dad that you lost it and I will pay you a discount!!

  • What's the difference between this and the blue (Math and Science) Version?

    Comparison to ti-89 titanium?

  • the BLUE one is a regular nspire

    sin(45°)=.707106781187

    like BLUE ti-73

    the GRAY nspire has CAS

    sin(45°)=sqrt(2)/2

    like GRAY ti-89 titanium

    all about $150

  • The blue one (TI Nspire) is the alternative for TI 84, and normally priced slightly higher. This one has CAS, and could therefore be compared to TI 89 Titanium. Note that it cannot 3D Graph, but has various functions to make up for that loss in ability. Overall, it is priced slightly higher than Ti 89 Titanium.

  • Any idea to put games on them?

  • Hey man

ive bneen looking for info on the dimensions but i guess noboy cares about the size or anything but how tall wide and thick is it

and do you think its easy to use

or do you or anybody else think this calculator is betterforphysics rather than the ti-89 titanium or hp 50g?

  • its size is actually pretty nice, its slightly taller than teh 84 but the thickness is roughly the same. it definitely has the 89 titanium beat for graphics and everything else

  • I've learned that there is a OS update that includes programming support, including a Program Editor. Is that something that you can confirm, or even better do a video regarding?

  • I'm installing my CAS software as we speak. After I do this I will check and see if there is an update.

  • Hi, how did the update go?

  • hey, sorry man I forgot to update you, I ran into some troubles installing the CD that came with the calculator, and I haven't tried to again since. I can ask my friend on Monday who knows a lot more about it.

  • Man, you sound familiar. Your chemistry teacher wouldn't be Mr. Cox now would it?

    Hahaha

  • o:

    My teacher is Mr. Cox.

    o-o

  • does it come with the TI-84 keypad?

  • The regular TI-Nspire does come with the interchangable TI-83/84 keyboard and it is blue in color, however this model the TI-Nspire CAS with Computer Algebra System which is grey in color does not have that capability.

  • Oh. thanks for the info! I am glad you told me that, because i was getting rady to buy this one, but i also need it for Algebra 1, so my teacher said that i would need the TI-84 keypad, so it looks like the regular TI-nspire for me!!!

    thx smartcar13!!!

    treymason

  • i also have the nspire . but do u no how to put games on it? plz tell me how

  • I have no clue, i I have yet to find any, sorry!

  • are you using it to play games?!!!IT"S CALLED A CALCULATOR!!DO YOU KNOW WHAT DOES THE WORD CALCULATOR MEANS, LOOK UP IN THE internet

  • what is wrong with having games on it? >.>

  • The TI-Nspire has a different programming language than the other calculators, so Mirage OS or any game programs won't work. Texas Instruments hasn't released the programming language yet, so no one can make programs besides them yet... could be a while. I'm content, however, to just sit and mess around with all its other a-fucking-mazing features until then!

  • it depends what the hell you want to do with it

  • I am thinking of buying the ti-Nspire CAS or ti-89 titanium, have you used both, if so which do you recommend?

  • The 89 is really just an upgraded 84 in my opinion. I would DEFINITELY get the Nspire instead.

  • I went ahead and got the Nspire CAS, it is awesome, thanks for the input.

  • that is awesome!

    i have a ti-84SE

i really want the new nspire

i'm just wondering, what are you using it for?

    geometry class? algebra2? for fun?

  • A combination of fun, college algebra, and chemistry.

If any of you have information on games it i was appreciate it greatly!
