Psycho Cirkus is just as little Kiss as Sonic Boom. Maybe even less. Peter and Ace basically don't play on any of the songs. Read the Behind The Music book, which reveals pretty detailed what session musicians they used for every album. I don't think Peter did any drumming at all on Psycho Cirkus, just sang the one song.

At least Sonic Boom is the first honest Kiss album since the beginning, with all members playing and singing, no session musicians and no outside writers.
