great vid bro... I was about to buy that bar but I need something that would flood the foor like those old forencent 4ft tuves but not as fragile.. thanks dude...
Thanks. The only problem with the led uv lights is that they are expensive and you will probably need at least three to achieve the affect you are looking for. I'm gonna end up buying another led par uv can to even out my truss (one par on each end and the uv mega bar in the middle)
I was looking into the UV Cannons before I bought the led versions until I found out that the replacement bulbs were over $100. Not a great selling point for me.
They do have the mega bar uv 100, but when I was dealing with my warranty issue, reps at american dj said they discontinued the product line. I would def. advise against the mega bar with the gradually fading leds (although they claimed they would never fade). My par can hasn't had that issue yet.
Yup, they both have sound active mode if you want to use them as strobes. I like them better as a wash, but that's just personal preference. I think you'll like the par cans over the uv50. And like I said, I had trouble with one of my uv50's. If there's any more questions about these or any of my other lights, feel free to give me a shout.
Jim, THANKS for the video. I saw this video on my phone earlier today at work. I believe I have just one more question which should help me make up my mind. Does the Par 64 have sound active mode like the UV50? Right now I have and really havent used too often are two cheap ass walmart black lights which are simular in shape and length to the UV50. When I have used them i've struggled to mount them anywhere on my truss so I believe the Pars would be better for me.
What would be really interesting is if you could line the 2 fixtures up against a traditional 24 or 36 inch florescent tube. I've never seen a uv LED outside of the tiny ones inside my PC case.
If I had a traditional black light, I would definitely do a comparison. I dj-ed a 13th birthday last year for a girl that wanted a ton of black lights so they brought their own. My led uv lights made theirs look like dim night lights.
cool i like the par i baught a standerd rgb par 56 i love the LED its my first LED product and my second dmx light i have also a acme dmx party scan the 100w version
Thank you very much for the great comparison - I just ordered the par can from Musicians Friend - I think I'll be very pleased
