why is the intake so long? is it better for the higher revvs?

Just a theory, so don't take my word for it, but it might be because so it can suck in cooler air rather than being right by the engine where it would have more potential to suck in warmer air.

@einnebbennie It's so you can accelerate the air more and get all most an turbo like effect at higher revs with the right valve timing.
