  • This video is cool! A bit dizzying though. But besides that... THIS SONG IS THE #1 SONG IVE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!! XD

  • Song for our generation

  • Some songs are perfect ..... you know it when you can listen to it over-and-over.... This is one of those songs..... Never grows old.

  • This video is cool, so why are you reading the comments?

  • Like if the movie martin child brought you to this video and you love the little dance that Dennis does with this song in the background. #nice talk

  • (♥)

  • WHERE THE #&*%(@*#&@*# DO I GET THE PIANO SHEET MUSIC FOR THIS SONG!!!?!?!

    pleasse someone tell meee.

  • My friends thought i was weird because i played this the entire way to the beach one night last summer, but it was a breezy star filled summer night with the moon roof pushed back, it was only right!

Now My home girl says she cant drive to the beach at night without playing this song now! hahaaaaa....good music aids good memories!

  • I know this song is the “it it"

  • How could anyone not like this song?

  • This song is for my Mom who passed away in 2008. She was my satellite, my moral gauge in life. This is for you Mom, I know your spirit was kid and good on earth and still guides us.

  • The martian child brought me here.Great song!

  • @HLP83

    Haha, me too. :D

  • Guitars sound cool.....like the harmonies

  • @Derekmanster

I agree. :) I couldn't keep watching the video. But, the song is amazing. :)

  • all the spinning makes me feel sick. I love the song, though.

  • loooove the sound of that snare!!

  • this is one of the best videos I've ever seen

  • de de de de de de de!!!! do do do do do do do do!!!!! shining like a work of art!!!! yes i am GUSTER! thanks to u i have SELF CONFIDENCE!

  • Amazing video to an amazing song.

  • The stop motion animation work is very well done!! i love it.

  • i love this stop motion thing, it's so cute :)

  • This video reminds me of doom graphics. But it's NEDM so it's shit.

  • 54 people didn't see the movie Martian Child

  • I'm going to name my daughter Satellite after this song : ) Everyone thinks it's silly...But they don't understand how this song speaks to me, and how I hear it :D

  • @CozartAmanda Maybe it will be telling you something different in 9 months.

  • @cue772 Haha, I have no idea what you mean by that, But...I'm not even pregnant...Just WHEN I end up having a daughter, that's what she'll be named :)

  • @CozartAmanda What if you have a boy?

  • @cue772 Hahaha, Then his name won't be Satellite!, lol.....I'm thinking Radar, or Arcadian :)

  • @CozartAmanda Dude, i love this song too, but the name is kinda silly...i mean, what would be her nickname?

  • @ToonComedy I love the name....I think the meaning of the word 'Satellite' is sweet, and the song is amazing. I don't even know if she will have a nick name, I could call her Sattie :)

  • @CozartAmanda But... doesn't the song imply that the girl is meant to be revolving around him? She's a decoration!

I love the song, but I personally always have to ignore the lyrics, because annoy me.

I dunno... maybe I'm interpreting the song wrong.

  • @babblingmongoose lol, I think he's just telling her, that he's going to be leading her...and that she's ''his'' satellite....he's very loving in the lyrics, But I love the name 'Satellite' and I feel that the meaning of satellite is beautiful..its very

definition seems poetic when compared to child birth, and life

itself.. "A satellite is an object which has been placed into orbit by

human endeavor... Or that of natural satellites like the Moon." :D

  • @CozartAmanda The song comes across as more of an unobtainable perfect girl, not about any kind of happy healthy relationship

  • @CozartAmanda

    @CozartAmanda

I'm not into having kids or naming kids or... having kids, but your poetic reason (and definition) for someday naming a daughter "Satellite" is just fine with me. These people who don't like it are terrified little tools who hate anything changing and want everything to remain the same. "WHUT WUD U NICKNAEM HER?? I DON LIEK IT. JUST STICK WIT BRITTANY OR TIFFANY OR SUMTHING CUZ UR IDEAS SKARE ME."

You are way more patient with these douchebags than I am. XD

  • @JosieQuatsch Aww, thank you!, That's very sweet of you to say!, and yes...Most people are scared, or very unsure about ''things'' that are not of the ''Norm''....I'm just not fond of ''Brittany'' or ''Tiffany'', Or ''Mckayla''' lol...Their over used and plain. lol even my name, Amanda...urgh, lol. But yeah, I think Satellite is adorable, and sweet :) and I very much appreciate your comment! :D

  • @babblingmongoose Maybe think of it more in the context of these lines specifically: "Lighting the sky/ always the first star that I find/ You're my satellite/ Maybe you will always be/ just a little out of reach"

  • @CozartAmanda no. just, no.

  • @DudeBrahMan yes. just, yes

  • @mafisher13 I feel bad for yours :) (when and if you do have them!)

  • watching this video drunk makes me feel sick. good song while you're drunk though.

  • FRICKIN AMAZING

  • Great song, reminds my of 2006 days in Pilsen Chicago, World gym!!!

  • Good song, good video. The lyrics are a tad conventional for my taste, but none the less well done.

  • Oh my gosh. O.O It's so good!

  • God damn - this is just too good of a song. Fuck - its close to perfect. The Gusters are melodic masters.

  • this is just one of those songs that some people don't know, but are always humming the tune. i'm in love with this song.

  • boring

  • the constant circling of the video gets annoying and hurts my eyes, but i love the song though

  • I'm dizzy

  • My all-time favorite song. :)

It's too bad that the official video cuts off more than 20 seconds of one of the best fades ever done.

But I can fix that. ;)

  • Sounds a little Elliot Smith-esque. Good stuff and great organ

  • Very original video but got a little motion sickness watching on small screen LOL....

  • Yourrrr myyyy satellite!

  • just saw these guys live at life is good festival. they play a great show.

  • These guys are mad good. Guster have such a nice sound. I hope they make it big one of these days.

  • this band is pretty bad, but this song is straight amazing.

  • i love this guys voice, it fits the music perfectly

  • It's unique and has great lyrics. I am tryin to see if there other music is as good.

  • Whomever made this video is wonderful, but please take the goddamn link off of the middle of screen. If I'm interested, I'll go there, okay fucker?

  • god damn full screen links

  • My all-time favorite song. Too bad the video slices off almost half a minute of the end of the song (the best part). Grrr...

  • i saw them in concert this was the only good song of the show the rest of them sucked how did such a shitty band sell out a full theater in NYC

  • I heard this exact song for the first time two years ago in ruby Tuesdays and I couldn't figure out the name of the song. I was instantly in love. The elevator to the moon part stuck in my head, and that's what I thought it was called. So two days ago I was listening on pandora and this song came on and I was like, "OMG! I know this song!"

  • just saw these guys live for the first time in 3 years. forgot how much I loved them

  • Amazing. Just discovered Guster and I'm loving 'em.

  • this song represent the love between me & my bestfriend. he lives faraway so the line "maybe you will always be just a little out of reach" suits perfectly.

  • Wow. This video made me want to cry just as much as the song does. I don't know why, but every time I hear Satellite, I want to start bawling. Great song and video, though.

  • Excuse my english, Regards from Costa Rica!

  • When I saw child from Mars, ive waited for the credits to see who was singing that incredible song. I loved the movie, it made me cry. Greetings from Costa Rica!

  • Dude. Wow. What an awesomely unique and trippy video. I love it! :D

  • 1 of the top 5 songs I`ve heard this year. Lots of replay value. Glad I discovered it.

  • This song makes me happy inside

  • What a greaaaat video!!!!! WOW!

  • this song actually made my sox rock a little :D

  • very very nice

  • i just fell in love

  • Good music, great vid! lots of pre and post production work, massive stop motion ideas, also found it while searching for stop motion.

  • I really enjoy this song and to think I found it in search of Stop Motion!!!

  • :) :) :) :)

  • great song

  • this video makes me motion sick

  • This video is a true work of art. Must have taken an age to make.

  • amazing video!!!!!

  • Let's tAkE Sidney to see the show

  • i just spoke to the lead singer of this band on chatroulette hahaha he was cool are they famous?

  • guster is amazing

  • nice talk!

  • love love

  • For some reason, I feel listening to the song with the video is way better than with just the audio. It fits it perfectly.

  • 2:36 is the best part of the song, and video, for me. It is a limitation we must accept in our lives. The part when they spin around and see each other, but never do, is memorizing and haunting.

  • Why yes Tim, I do love it!

  • I tear comes to the eye with this song.

  • omg my ears just orgasmed :O

  • @dylanyacuel eargasm?

  • @dylanyacuel eargam!

  • @dylanyacuel thats just gross

  • @dylanyacuel yellow liquid?

  • This is a beautifully put together song.

  • love it! :)

  • chill song

  • gotta love the stop motion =D

  • Heard it on the movie on Martian boy in school and loved it !

  • great video cool song, love the stop animation, there was obviously alot of hard work and attention to detail when they revolved the set around the hotel scene, and you could still see the lamposts outside the building. if you wanna see another cool indie song with amazing stop animation, I recommend "oh mandy" by the spinto band. the stop animation is comparibly amazing, but the song is ten times better.

  • Honestly, if these fine gentlemen never produce anything else for the rest of their lives, they will have fulfilled their purpose as far as I'm concerned. This song is a treasure.

  • @PrestonSC: I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @PrestonSC true dat homeboy. blank the medai, if commercial radio dont pick it up, better to us!

  • Have a ponder at our videos.

They are out of this world.

    <3HELVETWITCA.

  • Great song... video kinda makes me nauseous after a bit.

  • Favorite song atm, heard it yesterday on the movie Martian Child, great movie too ;O) thanks for sharing this.

  • makes me feel like a bobblehead doll. i love it.

  • i didnt eve realize i was groovin till i read this lol

  • i know, it just seems to make you feel that way. Just a happy feeling to kind of go along, having a bad day and I listened until i felt better...

  • I know I may get some thumbs down for saying this, but this song reminds me so much of the relationship between Kirk and Spock. Whether that relationship be taken romantically or not.

  • yeah, thumbs down for you definitely

  • Care to explain yourself?

Or are you just the kind of person who likes to use the internet to say mean things to people that you wouldn't say to them if they were looking you in the face?

    You know what?

You don't even have to answer that.

Honestly, I really just shouldn't be getting into an argument with someone like you.

You obviously have nothing interesting or anything of value to say.

  • hey man i was just joking. you shouldn't be taking a thumbsdown from youtube all that seriously. and yes, i would say it to your face, seeing as it's something most ordinary people would not find insulting.

  • whooa haha

  • @ShinSina : Word. Total chublover.

    :]

  • thats pretty cool that your teacher played this song they must have good taste. haha,

  • simply amazing

  • I was changing my pants in Macy's and this song came on. Turned on Shazaam and def saved it.

  • @vunley Lol One of those moments. Always the best kind. First heard it on a crappy radio station in New England which never bothered to tell the names of songs. Thank goodness for predictable song titles ^_^

  • >8( Whenever I try to pause it I forget there's a link there and it sends me to that video argh

  • if people overplay this song to much it is gonna get worn out!!!! tho thts practically impossible with this song!=P

  • at 1:39, hes in a jimmy johns

  • ha yes very dizzy. good tho. trippy

  • elevator to the moon, whistling our favorite tune, trying to get a close-er view... <3

  • feeling a quite dizzy now...o_O

  • Wow.

  • Kind of pissed this song is being so overplayed in places like Kohl's and certain restaurants. I've been a Guster fan for 4 years and now all the bandwagoners jump on... Come on people you're like 10 years late. lol

  • you're so cool

  • Hahaha. Mean but it's true.

  • if you're a Guster fan why are you pissed that they play the song a lot? why do you people who were fans a long time ago get pissed when more people become fans? is it because you want to be one of those people who only listens to bands no one's ever heard of because you think that makes you cool?

  • No no. Don't get me wrong. I guess my first post was venting. I've been giving people Guster's music for a long time now, trying to spread the love. I just hate it when good songs get overplayed on the radio or in public places. Most of the time, people listen and play the crap out of great songs like this, and Guster's other work goes unnoticed or undiscovered.. rendering them a one hit wonder in the minds of the buffoons. THAT is what angers me. Sorry If I came across as an elitist.

  • i'm sorry!

  • this album is ok but they were better back with "parachute and "goldfly"

  • this has seriously been my favorite songfor five years. i always go back to it.... if i find a boy who either knows this song/can actually sing it to me...well, i might just fall madly in love

  • this song makes me wonder why do i have no girlfriend for 5 years, it just puzzles me. well but the song just makes me wana go to the moon

  • guster is for nerds

  • And I am a nerd, so Guster is for me

  • this video is fuckin good! I love stop motion

  • This song reminds me of the romance between Fry and Leela. :)

  • I never thought of that! It really does.

  • Haha it kinda does.

  • i used to work at Kohl's and this song played ALLLL the time. haha

  • actually they play it on the radio in chicago 93.1 XRT

  • wOw i love this song!!! It always puts me in a good mood!!!!

  • hah hey babe im stocking you =)

  • Can you quit stocking her and get back to register? We have customers

  • such a great song.. to good for the radio i guess..
