Steve really does look pretty sick... comparing how he looked 5 years ago to how he looks now, you know he must be sick. It's really sad to see. Hope he gets better...
@Dustie1984 Barring a miracle, I don't think he'll be shuffling around this mortal coil for very much longer. He's so frail that if he catches the flu, it's likely to push him into the abyss.
Ok, that's it the Mac is now the best. Has EVERYTHING I want on it. A Great OS, also has Boot Camp so I can get the best of both worlds, Incredible hardware they have for there Macbook Pro's.
Apple I beg to you all I ask of you is that:
Touchscreen.
A graphics card so incredible it can play Crysis 2 in FULL HD at top Graphics settings.
If you were to make the screen touchscreen some sort of cool thing where you can just bend the screen back and use it like a tablet.
Wow..how many clicks, flicks and gestures do you need to see what windows you have open? In Win 7 you just glance at the taskbar, all the windows are there by just looking. No clicking, flicking or swiping. Geez, Lion looks like a 15 year old operating system, miles behind Win 7.
@PhrozenFenom Maybe a bit nervous, but then his hand started sweating and it messed up the touch recognition. He was doing the gestures correctly, but the mouse wasn't recognizing them properly toward the end. Perhaps he should have had some kleenex or a handkerchief nearby to dry the mouse and his hand.
@PhrozenFenom well i mean he doesnt usually do all these presentations/demos, so ye he will be a bit nervy, bertrand serlet usually does mac os related demos...but hes JUST LEFT today (23rd march 2011)..
@PhrozenFenom Yeah, he may have been. He could have just been someone with shaky fingers though. Some people have funny motor reflexes. I have a few friends who when perfectly relaxed try and do something articulate with their fingers or hand shake a lot, the more they try to be accurate the worse it gets. They'll never surgeons.
So much bragging about that full screen, it should have been in the previous OS ages ago. All they really care about is just earning money and not the consumers' demands. Same as they bragged the iPad that doesn't even have a front camera, when the sales go low, then they'll bring up an iTab that has 2 cameras and supports Flash.
@tktox Ubuntu Software Center is limited to open source software from Canonical and partner repositories and is nothing more than a frontend for apt. Similar application managers existed for ages in Linux distros, I don't see why the hype around Ubuntu. The Mac App Store by the other hand is a logical step towards ease of use and a good opportunity for developers, even if it is nothing close to being a not-seen-before feature in other operating systems, as you very well observed.
and the similarity doesn't end there.. the expose and launch pad is what gnome 3 calls activity panel.. but in gnome3 they're just more conveniently merged in one with search app function activated at the same time.. u should try it sometime..
though i do admire the macosx fan base.. i mean whenever something good appears on linux some commandline fanboys jump up and start bashing it..
He should have been using a magic trackpad. I love mine and will never go back to the mac—er, I mean back to a mouse. You go, Craig! My magical conjurer mo-bro. =]
@Briwsion Yea. Magic Mouse rocks. I just think he was terribly nervious. I'd be when I'd have to demonstrate my OS infront of the entire world. :S I kinda felt sorry for that dude :/
Anyway. Lion's gonna rock like hell and magic mouse >> everything else (expept my Razer Deathader maybe XD)
"As a Mac user I like using Windows" LMFAO!!! But seriously, just loaded Lion and heard my desktop ROAR!!!

I actually don't like the magic mouse much -- it's hard to do those multi-finger gestures (for me anyway) on that small surface...
This guy is obviously having the same trouble I have - I just use a normal old dell mouse on my Mac, or the magicpad.

So, he just focuses on apps? Is that all the OS is? :| No thanks.

So Mission Control is pretty much a glossier version of the Windows Taskbar?
Props for the universal full screen feature, and the instant folder from dragging app icon over another app icon.
