I just recently finshied this anime. It was really good..the best one in my book. The ending was so sad, and gory. I loved the gore, cause it was awesome.. but the ending made me cry. I was really surprised, and happy, and sad, and y'know every other emotion this anime givs you, except for hate, that is forbidden.

I don't know what plplplplomg said, but I think EL is immature too. No, I'm not against the violence. And no, I don't think all anime should be serious. But the problem with EL is, it tries to be serious and dramatic and comes up with cheap little tricks to make you feel empathic for the characters. It's so obvious: rape, murdering a kitten, it's like the writer is out of inspiration. And the whole Latin and German doesn't make me want to take it lightly...

I think there are certain things about the show that are a bit over the top, and sometimes distract from the story (such as the sheer amount of nudity and violence), but that's just the way it is. As far as the drama, I think "cheap little tricks" is a horrible way of putting it. It wasn't even a kitten that was murdered, it was a puppy. I would appreciate if in the future, when you felt like dissing a show, at least do your research, so you don't look stupid.
