  • Great vid/song...but wtf is Glenn Headley doing in it?

  • oh i wonder who could that be lol

  • my fukin musical hero worship the man

  • Damn, now this song is stuck in my head. I've been singing it under my breath all day. My friends keep asking me, "What the hell are you singing?"

  • Pil and Lydon are awesome! This song is "OK"....

What "makes" this video, for me, is all the classic "120 Minutes" tags!! MTV once rocked!!

    Thanks for posting!

  • Not only was he one of the best of the 20th century, but he is better than most of the 21st.

  • how people cant sign with a "don't like"?

Rotten's one of the best of the 20th century

  • Great song!

  • Been looking everywhere for this song for 20 years! I had no idea who it was and just came across it by chance. Would never have guessed it was PiL. I am in shock. John Lydon is amazing though...so cool!

  • @Xxfancythat79xX Haha! Great song eh? Love it! Glad you found it man! First time I've seen the video to be honest, pretty cool!!

  • god i love this band ..even in their dry 90's era they still put out fucking great songs

  • John Lydon. God I hope he lives forever

  • a crap in a clingwrap...awesome!....remember this being the only song from this time I loved!

  • Wow, that's terrible.

  • Look mummy, it's the butter salesman!

  • do you understand?

    vaguely!

    LOL

  • this video reminds me of Inglorious Bastards.

  • after all years, he's still on the bloody top! wish I could have seen pistols live, maaan!

  • @missSuchashame luckily me and some friends managed to get tickets for four of the gigs in 2007, they rocked, me and a friend seen them in 96 at finsbury park london on their comeback tour this was great too.

  • @kevinb617 wow, 4 gigs? what a dream! :)

If they continue to tour until they end up in wheelchairs I might have a chance to say "I saw them that year, and that, and that..." ;)

  • @missSuchashame

the same, how I wish to see them when I'm still alive :P

  • HaHa SOO Catchy....makes me dance.........

  • omg... What did the man do?! ughhh this has been bothering me forever. ok i get it, he kept digging but what did those guys want him for??

  • LOVE THIS!

  • my music hero

  • Ohhhhh i still love this one Johnny is a Legend! With John MCgeoch on Bass such a shame when he died i used to fancy him hehehehe.

  • Whether its PiL or The Sex Pistols, Johnny's the BEST.

  • It's easy to deceive a child.

  • haha so cheesy but so awesome at the same time.

  • haha so cheesy

  • Happy Birthday Mr Lydon!

  • I love it !!!!!!!

  • i like the baggy suit

  • Yeah,this is a SUPER Song. I LOVE it.

  • Fantastic tune. Going to see PiL in Glasgow in December. Cannae wait!!!

John always reminds me of irritating tv chef Gary Rhodes in this vid....must be the hair

  • bought this when i was 15, great song

  • johns got a face for acting

  • Jolly and subversive bravo Mr Lydon. :)

  • I first heard p.i.l on beavis and butthead. I instantly loved it. I looked for it on tape(all I had at the time) but was only on c.d. Years passed, and then I got with this old punk rock chik. She gave me some nice original p.i.l nostalgia -badges,shirt, and a nice tape or two. So started my journey of neurosis with P.I.L lmtd. Been twelve years now, and still love the sounds..

  • I love the Sex Pistols, and last week I heard PiL for the first time. To be honest, I absolutely hated it. But damn, somehow it grew on me and I think I actually like it now... ha, I actually really, really like it now.

  • yeah PiL was so different, especially because they sounded nothing like the Pistols...or any1 else for that matter

  • One of my favorite songs. Does anyone know who directed this video?

  • jessie dylan

  • He is still great, wether it be Sex Pistols or the Pil...and he does a great advert for butter..

  • great song.

    johnny rotten's awesome

  • I love this song

  • Retard.

  • faggot.

  • The pistols should do there own stuff and stop copying , our uncle johnny?

  • great john!

  • the onli vids i would want to watch on utube that entertain me, Rock on Johnny!

  • Double Wow. Had to watch it twice. So the folks who burn little children to death live above ground and the christians live in dirty holes. Now I understand. UR out of your bleeping mind.

  • The lyrics are sublime... ;)

  • truly barking but brilliant!

  • You are a shit.

  • No wonder John Lyndon doesn't tell people who is influences are, this is a reason they'd be shot. He's gone downhill since the 70's.

  • Maybe is should get a bassist so he can pretend to play.

  • That "it's easy to deceive a child" bit on the end of the "Greatest Hits So Far" version still confuses me.

  • lol. I forgot about that.

  • I love the song. The video is a little scatterbrained, though. I dig the lyrics: garbage in the environment, garbage in the media. Everyone is screwing it up for everyone, and everyone just ignores it.

  • The man is a genius i love him woud love ta meet him 1 day i love this yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh rock johnnny

  • just a few

  • y r the sex pistols back? i want pil back...

  • country life butter, johnny! why?

  • for 2009 JOHN lYDON, what you gonna do when the money runs dry ( blame Bush) and china - usa oil global warming. SONG AHEAD OF ITS TIME

  • KROQ 106.7 Los Angeles

  • Such a wonderfully manic song! Brilliant stuff! Like butter, British is best!!

  • "it's easy to deceive a child..........."

  • I LOVE YOU John Lydon

  • pity lydon now finds he wants to advertise butter....... jesus.

  • Getting paid to slag the product off, good work if you can get it!

  • talk about completely loosing the fucking plot! what a load of shit the eighties wwere, hilarious! and utterly embarrassing, I didn't realise Lydon had released such crap! I'm going to have knightmares because of this

  • wow, overly-dramatic. see a doctor.

  • If you keep up with interviews and the like, I'm pretty sure Lydon's point was that people had come to expect him to be something; they'd tried to pigeonhole him, so he did the exact opposite of what was expected. I mean, the man DOES have a sense of humor and irony lol.

  • Awesome!!!

  • Brit Pop in '80s. No one ever can reach that point of creativity. and I'm afraid, no one ever will...

  • Been looking for this song since 1990. What a track.....

Me & my mates used to say "vaguely" all the time after this video came out.

    Good work for posting it.

I was trying to find it for my iPod but thought it was called "What's it all about".

A weight has been lifted today. Thanks

  • "Don't go anywhere, understand?"

    "Err... vaguely"

    Class.

  • So this is post-punk? alright... not that bad as I had heard

  • post-punk is so much enjoyable than modern-prefabricated-garbage that now calls itself "music".

  • Oh I totally agree music has become shit with no meaning....I mean...Pop-punk?

  • I personally am not sure how I feel about supposed "post-punk" revivalists lately either. If any band gets close at all, it may be the Editors, simply because they have proven they know their roots. But, where's this sort of stuff any more? Sure it's poppy as hell, but it's quirky and fun, as opposed to just mindless drivel to sedate the masses.

  • It's kind of post-punk; it's from a post-punk band anyway. Some of PIL's stuff is REALLY experimental and a tad hard to swallow, but if you want good examples of what PIL did that was typical post-punk, I highly recommend the song "U.S.L.S. 1" (you can find it on Amazon MP3's and I believe on iTunes). Lydon did good work, and the genre as a whole is so diverse and amazing.

  • LOL, bit of catchy song.

Sex Pistols or PiL, John Lydon is awesome!

  • @psychoman420 Hes my cousin lol, im not kidding

  • @RayRoark2009 you know what i worship the man. would love to buy him a pint and just chat with him

  • He´s one of the few V.I.P.s in this goddamn world. This song is fucking great. I love it, I don´t know.

  • john lydon kicks ass

  • you kick arse lol.

  • Świetne! Pamiętam to z MTV gdy była to nowość a ja byłem w bodajże 8 klasie... Od tamtej pory tego nie słyszałem aż do dzisiaj. Wspaniały kawałek!

  • And Oscar for overacting of the century goes toooooo... Joooohn Lyyyydooooon!!!!

  • That's a nice one.

  • ha ha ha ha

  • John Lydon meets David Byrne? Great song! Too bad it's on a hits comp.

  • What a top tune...ahead of its time

  • haha i just had a flashback i remember i was 10 i when i first saw this in 1988 and i was like...what the hell is this?this is weird..i dont understand..hehehe

  • What about 'do you like the taste of honey? Isn't it best without the bees!' That was nearly 20 years ago and now everyone is wondering where all the bees are disappearing too.

  • They actually have disappeared in china, farmers polinate by hand!

  • Do you know, I honestly never thought about that. I thought that if the bees died out then that would be the end of honey, seriously! Do you reckon it really is pollution?

  • Can't believe I've only just discovered this song. Who'd have thought a song with such heavy lyrical content could also be so cheerful?? Radiohead take note.

  • Loving the dance at 3.34, good song

  • Masterpiece. :]

  • bin looking a long time for this. true innovation

  • è facile come rubare una caramella a un bambino...

  • WE Should be concerned about the envirnment!

Thanx John Lydon I owe you won =l

  • As he said, "no ufos to save us, but do we really care?"

    All is said...

Great message, but not so much people to hear it... that's a shame, isn't it?

Nothing has changed, it's time to do something :)

  • lol john lydon plays the guy.

" ooh ,I woder who that could be?"

I love this song my 5 year old lil brother

is addicted to this song. He's like"shashaout

don't ask me I don't know, truth yet!""

  • It's a bit the same thing yes... but it doesn't change anything, does it?

  • Is Genius more than Brilliant?Poof

  • Mr.Lydon is brillianx PURe Brihillienz!

  • He's more than brilliant, he's a genius! So more than just the punk head figure.

Always done a great work, so open minded!!

    Love it!

  • damn i love this guy!

  • John Lydon is a Genious,

he sees things happening long before anybody else.

he is always a million years ahead of everybody.

greatest punk ever to walk the earth!

  • I. Love. John. Lydon.

    like WHOA.

  • Dang, did I say a month ago that Metal Box is better than this? I plead insanity.

  • Dang, did I say a month ago that Metal Box is better than this? I plead insanity.

  • LOL this song cracks me up everytime I hear it.

  • This is an amazing song in a B-52s sort of way. Of course Metal Box thrashes this but you can't hum anything on that album.
