This is *AWESOME!!!* This was the trailer that made me want to see the movie more than anything else. "The Rescuers" was the first Disney movie that I actually enjoyed on it's own merits rather than just because it was an animated movie or a "Disney movie". (And, of course, I *still* do!)
@reynard61 I wonder what the original theatrical trailer looked like? They had to have good advertisements for it to break the record of biggest hit for the opening weekend, never to be beaten until An American Tale 15 years later.

My guess is that it did so well because it was getting spill-over audiences from "Star Wars", which was packing theaters over capacity and Multiplex theater audiences would often go to other movies in order to wait for available seats in the theater in which "Star Wars" was playing.

Oh yes i also adore Oliver and Company, Sword in The Stone, Jungle Book, Sleeping Beauty and Lilo and Stitch. I also like Black Cauldron as well for being different and very Mononoke/Rock-and-Rule esque. Bianca is quite a cutie even with that accent, John Candy was hilarious in this movie. Did you know Don Bluth was one of the guys behind this movie before he quit Disney?
@Johnlindsey289 Yes, those are faves of mine too, especially The Black Cauldron. 101 Dalmatians, Fox and the Hound, Lady and the Tramp, Song of the South, Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Dumbo and Bambi are all faves of mine too. Bianca was adorable in both movies. Bon Bluth is one of the best animators to ever come from Disney.
More faves, i adore any Disney movie. Bianca has that appealing accent and Bernard always insists on taking the train in parts 1 & 2 but seriously what kind of train would go to Australia? Medusa looks like a younger version of Cruella.
@Johnlindsey289 Well, i guess it would have to be a special train that could travel underwater to get to Australia. lol. Medusa does kind of look like a younger Cruella or perhaps even her sister.
Here's an interesting fact you don't know, did you know that The Rescuers was gonna have a TV show but was changed to Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and went for a sequel instead? true fact.

To think this Disney classic did had Don Bluth as animator, before becoming director for both The Secret of Nimn and An American Tail, during the 1980's. Don Bluth worked on The Rescuers and partially on The Fox & The Hound for Disney, between 1973 and 1980.
