No-one takes what you say seriously, becuase you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
Supreme Court has ruled that forums may restrict vulgar speech or disruptive behavior in forums. Ergo it was no violation of meyer's FREE SPEECH, much less any other right to throw him out.
He did not say anything that warranted arrest. And if you think he was arrested for speech you are a mindless fucktard. He was thrown out for using vulgarity & being disruptive.
The organizers had every right to throw out Meyer, and it was absolutely no violation of his rights to do so. You can argue with the Supreme Court if you want to. The cases you might want to read are Bethel & Tinker.
That is outrageous. Though admittedly obnoxious and loud, he was taking part in a forum on FREE SPEECH. Not only did he say NOTHING that warrants an arrest (No ad hominem or derisive remarks) but John Kerry, actually wanted to answer his question but the soft spoken would be president didn't have the heart to stop an injustice taking place right in front of him.
The fact is the organizers had the constitutional right to throw our Meyer, and his speech is not protected under the first amendment in a forum when he is vulgar or disruptive. So ruled by the supreme court. And they do have the authority to make that decision.
So what happened here is Meyer was lawfully ejected, lawfully arrested, lawfully subdued when he resisted, convicted & served 18 months. While the cops were found to have acted correctly in every respect.
The discussion of tasers is irrelevant to the issue. Meyer violated the rules of the forums & was ejected. He resisted & created this confrontation? by resisting arrest.
His free speech rights were not violated. His rights don't supersede the rights of others. When he violated the rules of the forums and refused to leave he violated the rights of the organizers and every other attendee.
They were justified in removing him at that time. He had no right to be heard or hear Kerry's answer.
Obviously you either skipped or failed your civics class. The ACLU considers the concept that "all rights have limits" a 6-8th grade civics topic.
"You have a right to express your opinions as long as you do so in a way that doesn't "materially and substantially" disrupt classes or other school activities." meyer violated the forum rules, and disrupted the forums. So according to the ACLU expert, they had every right to remove him.
It was neither brutal, nor an offense to free speech. It's just a guy who got thrown out of a forum for pitching a fit (NOT for asking any questions) then he refused to leave.
Then they tried to give him an undeserved chance to ask a question, but he refused. Instead, he talked for 3 times what everyone was allowed, refused to let Kerry respond, & evnetually got the mic cut for cussing. Then he once again refused to leave.
"SO if you talk 3 times the allowed time you deserve to be stopped by cops and shocked??"
Don't be ridiculous. That has nothign to do with what happened. Did you even watch?
He was cut off for breaking ALL of the rules (besides the fact that he was KICKED OUT before they gave him a privealge of asking a question which he REFUSED to do).
He was shocked over 2 minutes later after fighting with police the whole time.
"In the civilized world, you can use the force in front of AN IMMINENT THREAT, not with an unpolite guy .."
That's bullshit. HE fought ploice for 2 minutes and was arrested for it. He continued fighting and got his shoulder stunned for 3 seconds so they could cuff him without doing serious harm. They were VERY lenient with him if you see the whole thing.
Oh i watched it, as i watched many films about cops behaviour in US.
Now, we are talking about this, but you should enlarge your view to a big picture .. if it was only THAT episode, i would say Oh c`mon, let this guy say "NWO", let Kerry reply that he can`t talk about "skull and bones" and let`s go home :) .. i ve got a bigger picture cause i know the mess hidden by economic system and politicians (DGMW, i don`t care about satanists and esoterisms), and that gives a VERY different prospective
Not "many films about cop behavior". You just gave away your bias.
I am talking about THIS incident. You may have just wathced the edited pieces, because the things you are talking about have NOTHING to do with the Andrew Meyer incident.
Any other incident you are talking about is irrelevant.
If meyer & the ACLU REALLY believed his rights had been violated. They would take it to court.
Why haven't they?
1) the video evidence is undeniable. meyer is guilty of violating the forum rules & disrupting, refusing lawful orders & resisting arrest.
2) Cases like this have already been seen by the Supreme Court. Bethel v Fraser & Tinker v. Des Moines & the court's refusal to hear Robinson v Montana, make the limitations of freedom of speech clear.
Arrested for resisting arrest. haha that's the funniest line ever! Bush and company has done worst than this. How come they're not being arrested huh? That dumbass Bill O'Reilly is always loud, rude and obnoxious. How come he doesn't get arrested?
Kerry did no such thing, nor was the guy arrested for asking questions out of turn. He was told to get off the mic for that, then leave because he refused. He was arrested for fighting with police well after he had ample opportunity to either leave or calm down. He did neither.
patrickpitman- ok, if thats the case why didn't they explain that is why they were arresting him. They said nothing. The guy may have been a bit loud/cocky but from what I could see he was commiting no crime. In a democracy, police should not have that much power. In the US it seems asking why you are being arrested constitutes 'resisting arrest' US cops are treated like gods that can do no wrong.
"if thats the case why didn't they explain that is why they were arresting him"
because they were NOT arreting him. They were trying to get him to leave, and he already knew why. He was kicked out before these videos start. Look up the witness statements. That's why students were cheering when they tried to carry him out.
You realise that by taking his freedom of speech away, no matter how stupid, essentialy takes yours away to? Your an idiot. If you want the right to say what you just did maybe you should be protecting the rights of other people around you, even if you don't like what they are saying.
You realise that by taking his freedom of speech away, no matter how stupid, essentialy takes yours away to?"
NO ONE took "..his freedom of speech away,". NOTHING you can say will make that statement true. ACCENT had EVERY right to cut the mic because Meyer broke 3 forum rules AFTER having already disrupted the forum, yelling & cursing at Kerry. The Officers did nothing wrong in this situation except allowing him to the mic after disrupting the forum. PERIOD.
Florida State Law 877.13 "It is unlawful for any person to a) knowingly disrupt or interfere with the lawful administration or functions of any educational institution or its activities, b) to conspire to riot or to engage in any school campus function disruption or disturbance.
Any person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 755.983."
What the media only briefly mentions is that the kid was republican and that the crowd was democrats listening to Democrat Senator Kerry. This is what politics has come to, tasering republicans?
DaRealDeal2008, you dumb ass. An exact quote from the student, Andrew Meyer, with his attorney, during his Today Show appearance in October 2007; "There were forum rules in place, and I did not follow the rules." "The police were just trying to do their job." "This was not about freedom of speech or the police, this is about voting rights and voter disenfranchisement, I mean people are prevented from voting and having their votes not count." "The police were just trying to do their job." STFU!
Yes, Kerry wanted to answer him, and that's great. However, Kerry wasn't in charge, he was just the guest speaker. The ACCENT group had hired the building rental and was running the show, and of course the police have their separate duties of keeping the peace and law enforcement. Apparently this left Kerry out of the chain of command when the kid's time was up. I think most people would give shared blame...ACCENT for enforceing the rules too strictly and Meyer for overreacting.
andrew myeres should sue UF, UF police officers, the county to where the county jail he was sent to, and take his case all the way to the supreme court for suppressing his right to freedom of speech. they said 'inciting a riot'? what fuckn riot!!?? i sure didnt see one, this is why so many ppl can't stand cops & don't trust them, especially the youth and im sure on this one adults will agree as well.
I agree completely DaRealDeal, he wasn't "inciting a riot", not once did he tell the people there to do anything other than to READ THE BOOK HE MENTIONED!!
Bullshit, kensei85. He was NOT arrested for telling people to read the book.
The "inciting a riot" was him running around the room telling people to fight back against the cops who were simply trying to make him leave at the request of the people who paid for the forum. NOTHING happened to him for telling people to read a book.
"think when he was pinned down by about 4 cops his exact words wore "Please somebody help me!"
Screaming for help when you are being lawfully restrained is against the law, but he was screaming for help before that. That is why they took him down to start with (that and the fact that, not only wouldn't he leave, but he broke away from gentle holds twice - pushing and kicking - so they had to up the force).
Sorry guys, you are being duped by edited videos. He was kicked out BEFORE ANY of the videos start. Then the whole thing after they do start is not on many of these. He was screaming for people to help when he on his feet pushing and kicking away from security. He had done it before as well. Look up witness statements and police reports on Google. You'll see the whole story. He was NOT removed for asking a particular question, nor was he taken down by officers without ample warning.
virtualdynamo here is good at misdirection. to properly answer your question culave, the reason people support andrew is that by removing him so quickly the cops interrupted the discourse between him & kerry
if you read the ACLU statement you'll see that they pinpoint that action as violating his[and kerry's] 1st amendment rights
the haters seem to gloss over that
andrew felt his rights were being violated so protested. perhaps he should have gone quietly, but you cant really blame him right?
you should read the AmestyInternational report on police brutality in the US
its an excellent read & outlines the main problem that a lot of citizens do not have trust in the police anymore because they feel police use excessive force, are too aggressive, biased, disrespectful, and unfair
who do they work for anyway?
if police were held accountable then it wouldnt be so bad, but so many get away with their misdeeds. why? is there a shortage of new recruits?
When we start citing things from the ACLU ... that is how we know the liberal bleeding-hearts have no ground to stand on. This idiot got what he deserved. 50,000 volts of attitude adjustment.
he WAS calm are you kidding? if u look at the tape youde see that the cops were trying to stop him from asking even before he started his first question. What you saw as "childish" was really him holding off the cops from stopping him and trying to ask the questions at the same time.
no, he was making a SCENE. the police did the right thing. All they were trying to do was keep things orderly and he overreacted. They weren't even going to arrest him.
it could only take that black security guard to take the guy out of the hall. but in my own opinion the stupid loser guy he had the power to just say anyone who asks me a question about me losing and hurting my feeling get him arrested...bullshit he was being polite but sarcastic but still kerry couldnt take more of that.
I won't negate the fact that he was disturbing a public forum but you cannot say that police were justified in tazering the man. He could have been thrown out of the hall. I'm sure they were capable with the overwhelming number of officers who dug their knees and feet into his back.

This guy is an idiot. He was trespassing. He was not in public place so he does not have a right to demonstrate. He was in a campus building witch is not a public place. It is a private place. When you are told to leave you must do so. Refuseal to do so costitutes tresspassing.
To mysema6 - is everyone who cares strongly for a cause, enough to be arrested, an idiot? I don't agree with him on his approach or know about the conspiracy he brought forth but I respect his dedication to an educated belief.
I find your name calling (and entire post for that matter) ignorant and childish.
I simply saying the guy called the guy names, who was callin the guy dood in the video names.. its retarded! - - NOW IM CALLING THEM NAMES - -and the wheels on the bus go round and round
For all you people out saying this is about freedom of speech thats incorrect. He said what he wanted but in a disturbing matter. He acted childish and this is expected to happen. I very much agree with mustange550 he is corrected in every aspect of what he says. Maybe if this man was calm and didn't act like a child than maybe he wouldn't have been taken out.
...yeah, after shoving cops around and resisting their efforts to peacefully detain him. I'm sorry, but an 'i'm sorry, i'll leave on my own' shouldn't be acceptable at that point. I wouldn't want to live in a country where some douche can disrespect authorities like that and leave the building without cuffs on. I applaud the police on this one. What a fucking dumbshit
I completely agree. Even though his line of questioning was inappropriate, perhaps the escort itself was unwarranted, but the fact he tried to make a scene out of it is just annoying...what an asshat...
Yes people to me that respond irrationaly to comments are looking for attentio. I'm looking for discussion! :) Yea I can see where you are coming from. In general you have to look out for the best intrest of the public. A lot of people abuse the consitution and think they you can use it to do what they want. However cops in general abuse their power and personly the tazer is a misued object.
Just becuase some is expressing their freedom of speech does not mean he can be disorderly or not in violation of rules, laws, or whatever else. Hey I don't think he should of been tazed, but from the cops point of view. Now a days you don't know what people can do, or have or whateverelse.
anyone who says Andrew deserved to be tased is not seeing the big picture which is FREEDOM OF SPEECH.The guy can not weigh more then 180 lbs.and if six cops cant get this guy to the ground and put some CUFFS on him then they need to find another job, maybe mall security or something,i hope these cops get SUED big time
this is some funny shit. all these ppl on here wouldnt do anything to help him either, cuz he was being a pure asshole. he even admitted it himself later, and admitted the cops did nothing wrong
that guy just dont stfu. i thought it was pretty funny when he was yelling like a pussy when the cops were doing nothing but telling him to calm down.
The cops' bland militaristic stoicism will never land them a Hollywood role ala John Wayne / Dirty Harry -- this is the closest they will ever come to being movie stars. All those suited guys are mentally masterbating - -pretending to be super-cool S.S. agents, even though their only job is frequent runs to the donut shop.
The student's demeanor is a result of being a fiery idealistic college student. The cops have no excuse for theirs.
There is a way to get your question out without screaming and making making a fool of yourself. He finally got his question out after ranting and never let Kerry answer. Trust me, when you are allowed to attend one of these things, they inform you ahead of time what the expected behavior is or you will be asked to leave. It was only after he refused to leave and assaulted officers that he was tased. Great job by UF campus police!
actually if u watch one of the videos closely enough u see kerrys i assume advisor tell someone to cut the question they didnt want kerry to answer maybe you should watch more of the videos that are slowed down.
Cops are assholes!!! Another example of violating rights is when they arrest people for blowing a 0.400 on a BAC anfter they run over someone on the side of the road. Give me a break.... tase him again, bro... Tase him for my sanity.
I am sick and tired of people saying shit about cops who havent even walked an inch in their shoes. I dont care what you say he did start a riot!! And he needed to be subdued. Do you realize how easy he got off, most people who assault a police officer get some jail time and he got zapped with a taser. geeze man. i am as liberal as you can get but in this case justice was served on a beautiful gleaming plattter
Watch a longer video. He did NOT incite riot, he was asking logical questions that need answering, and he was also standing up for many Americans who want answers. This was a good oportunity for these questions to be asked, and the guy took advantage. Also, he did NOT assult the police officers, there were 6 on him, what, they had to tase him too? I'm sorry, but there is no justice in this. Wake the fuck up.
man that was a Q and A i am a candian and tell me something how is he trying to ensight a riot and public disobedience asking a question and trying to inform ppl that is the beauty of freedom of speech is it not..... it is no worse then what the do in parliment maybe you should watch that for 10 minutes they try to ask questions but all they do is yell at eachother something like this.... he did not do anything wrong lets get that straight now
I'm all for freedom of speech and in some ways you are right, you should be able to ask questions with out being arrested. However, there are cops and staff members standing by him before he asked the questions. Also consider the fact that he started to become very aggressive in his approach, you are asking for trouble especially when you have a senator in the room.
i can see how you can say that dont get me wrong... however in freedom of speech you are allowed to make comments and questions freely aslong as if you are not physically doing something to another person. now with that being said what is difference between this and ppl in the government yelling at eachother. a senator should be able to react better to the situation at hand i am sure they get alot of angry ppl calling their office.
True. However if I heard correctly Kerry was trying to anwser his question(s) but he just kept talking and talking. It seems as though he was trying to start a fuss to me. Agian this is important to point out there were cops and staff already standing next to him before he asked the questions
Just becuase we have freedom of speech does not mean I can go out and yell what ever I want on the street, otherwise I may just be disturbing the peace. Freedom of speech is used to freely, and if you ask me freedom of speeach does not mean get out of control
yea you are right, it just seems kinda hypocritical to me they do one thing but expect ppl to act another. by the way it is about time i found someone on here that responds maturely and without sayin no you are wrong and puts the other person down. kinda like seeing it two ways just thought i would point that out.
asssnatchfanclub that was a bit raciast and uncessary okay I'm white to and I don't try to act or talk like some people do but you know thats how the world is you have to deal with people
I think they should have tazed him again just for saying bro "DON'T TAZE ME BRO" we white guys don't need to be going around sounding black and uneducated.

lethalyoyo, what right did they have to even handcuff him in the first place? in other videos, you can hear him saying "why are you arresting me? why are you arresting me?" he was not asked to leave, and he was not presented with any sort of crime. the police were out of line to lay hands on him without asking him to leave first. there was no danger to the crowd, he was armed with a notebook

the officers had no choice to use a taser on that kid there where to many PPL in the room to use peperspray and the option of PR-24(baton) was not an option. the only option was to use a taser the officers tried to handcuff hem and they could not so a taser was used to subdue him long enough to get him under control
There is something ridiculous about that second pic. the policewoman on the right looks like she's trying to punch the kid but her arm wouldn't reach. And really, is there a need to point a gun at a college radical whose holding up a book??
co-intel much? maybe this video was made by a co-intel agent trying to make the patriots who were alarmed by this incident look stupid. seriously, this video is a joke and probably meant as a hoax.
You're right. Short of winning the lottery, all wealthy people are owned by some level of government. It's the price they pay for the things they have done to get there, as well as the fear of losing what they have already attained. Hence, they don't rock the boat, they just shut up and grab an oar.
For the 50% of the population who support and endorse EVERYTHING George Bush does remember this: The laws that he enacts and more importantly the attitude and mood that his party conveys (ie. super conservatism, repression of differing view points via the media, etc..) will result in one day, the tables being turned politically speaking.
I find it upsetting that most people who support Bush take a great amount of glee in wielding a big fascist hammer at anyone who doesn't goosestep right along with their way of thinking. When the Democrats are in the Whitehouse, what if they employ the same thought process and tactics? What if they dominate the media and stifle any opposition to their partyline thinking?
I wonder if that will change your mind about the right to free speech and the right to ask questions and voice your opinions? People must ALWAYS question authority, including the Police, who are NOT ALWAYS right. The minute that people are scorned or ridiculed by their peers for having the courage to ask questions, we are through as a free society. The minute that people are afraid to ask questions for fear of being arrested we are done.
Do not ridicule this young man for what he did. Applaud him. I wonder how many of you would have had the courage to do what he did? I wonder how many of you would just sit there, shut up, do what you're told and never question authority.
First off I KNOW it's not true that 50% of the poulation support ALL of what bush says. It's not even true that 50% of the poulation even are Repeublicans. second, when you stated he represses different takes of the media, every politician does that sometime, somewhere. Next time before you post such juvenile and so not adequate comments realize the truth that is right now currently not being seen by to many people of America.
First off, you should learn how to spell before you call anyone juvenile. I have a photographic memory and an I.Q. of around 156. More importantly, what truth is not being seen by too many people of America? Perhaps you could elaborate?
You have to register republican to vote in the republican primaries numbnuts. If they didnt do that then people could vote in both primaries and rig the election.

are you kidding me douche??? no right what so ever they had wut they did none the bro that tased him will be charged and put back to training so he can sue them even though they should be discharged but hey its america
thats right bitch it is AMERICA so stay the fuck out of it pussy from -CANADA- PUT THE FUCKIN BONG DOWN BEFORE YOU GET ON LINE AND START FUCKING WIT THE KEY BOARD LOL RETARD! -- you sound like yoda from starwars just shut the fuck up --i thought they spoke english in canada WTF
man shut the fuck up fuck you a europe fuckin loser the guy was asked to leave and when he didnt he comited a crime for not following the cops orders look at the hole video man this guy asked for it
xxvenomous, were you not aware of the kid resisting the police as they were trying to escort him out of the room? were you totally oblivious to him trying to fight his way out of police force?? don't take his side... he probably wouldnt have been arrested if he didnt resist and act like a total douchebag. All the cops wanted to do was escort him out of the room, and he had to be mr drama queen.
I am not saying this kid was not overly passionate...but I didnt know overly passionate was against the law. So according to your logic anytime the police want to silence and arrest someone, that someone should just immediately surrender. If you watch other videos the police tell the student he is being arrested for inciting a riot (not for resisting arrest!).RIDICULOUS!!! The police are the ones who escalated this to a violent scene NOT the student.
Funny, the reason you give is totally contrary to the police's reason. The police cite "attempting to incite a riot" as the arresting charge. Get a fucking clue.
Shame on the four police that after put him on the floor tazered him. And big SHAME on all the other guys in the room that did not to stop this abuse, and let the police brutalize this young guy.
This was a room full of democrats i'd assume, and John Kerry is a democrat, and this guy seemed to be a democrat, and none of them said anything or tried to help him.
The world has more colors than red and blue. More parties than Dem and Rep, why don't think out of the box the way our forefathers intended. America is supposed to be free, not free to chose between two parites.
how are people talking about its a dictatorship and this is the republicansfault?
If John Kerry said, "no he deserves to be heard" everyone would've let him say his piece as stupid as it was and he wouldve sat down.
Can't blame Republicans for this one when i'd be willing to bet theres not one in the room. Look at all those smug democrats standing up and leaving when hes talking.
I hope no one takes this clip seriously.

IlSeFousDeTaGuele/etc is a TROLL that i ejected from animal rights pages
for months he was posting inflammatory comments about hunting, killing lab animals & buying furs in order to bait inane arguments with random people
he claims to be a 200k per year doctor but is actually nothing but a TROLL
he also posts in HIV videos, citing like he does here, cases which dont actually support his crap IF you actually care to read it

3) meyer has already plead.
ccr5cxcr4 2 years ago
Meyer was ejected for violating forum rules > resisted > created this confrontation.
ACLU's web site answering questions about freedom of speech:
"Your freedom of speech is not unlimited"
"... can stop you from using language they consider vulgar."
"have a right to express your opinions as long as you do so in a way that doesn't "materially and substantially" disrupt activities."
meyer did both. They were correct to forcibly remove him & his rights were not violated.

Kerry should have said 'im happy to speak to you afterwards- but other students may also have questions'- something along those lines
Instead these 'police' arrest him for no good reason. US cops have far too much power.
CULAVE 3 years ago 4
Kerry did no such thing, nor was the guy arrested for asking questions out of turn. He was told to get off the mic for that, then leave because he refused. He was arrested for fighting with police well after he had ample opportunity to either leave or calm down. He did neither.
patrickpitman 3 years ago
patrickpitman- ok, if thats the case why didn't they explain that is why they were arresting him. They said nothing. The guy may have been a bit loud/cocky but from what I could see he was commiting no crime. In a democracy, police should not have that much power. In the US it seems asking why you are being arrested constitutes 'resisting arrest' US cops are treated like gods that can do no wrong.
CULAVE 3 years ago
"if thats the case why didn't they explain that is why they were arresting him"
because they were NOT arreting him. They were trying to get him to leave, and he already knew why. He was kicked out before these videos start. Look up the witness statements. That's why students were cheering when they tried to carry him out.

PERIOD.

DaRealDeal2008, you dumb ass. An exact quote from the student, Andrew Meyer, with his attorney, during his Today Show appearance in October 2007; "There were forum rules in place, and I did not follow the rules." "The police were just trying to do their job." "This was not about freedom of speech or the police, this is about voting rights and voter disenfranchisement, I mean people are prevented from voting and having their votes not count." "The police were just trying to do their job." STFU!
tazedbro 3 years ago
what´s about asking a question?
Kerry wanted to answer him.. come on
markovanpelt 3 years ago
Yes, Kerry wanted to answer him, and that's great. However, Kerry wasn't in charge, he was just the guest speaker. The ACCENT group had hired the building rental and was running the show, and of course the police have their separate duties of keeping the peace and law enforcement. Apparently this left Kerry out of the chain of command when the kid's time was up. I think most people would give shared blame...ACCENT for enforceing the rules too strictly and Meyer for overreacting.
tazedbro 3 years ago
andrew myeres should sue UF, UF police officers, the county to where the county jail he was sent to, and take his case all the way to the supreme court for suppressing his right to freedom of speech. they said 'inciting a riot'? what fuckn riot!!?? i sure didnt see one, this is why so many ppl can't stand cops & don't trust them, especially the youth and im sure on this one adults will agree as well.
DaRealDeal2008 3 years ago
I agree completely DaRealDeal, he wasn't "inciting a riot", not once did he tell the people there to do anything other than to READ THE BOOK HE MENTIONED!!
kensei85 3 years ago
Bullshit, kensei85. He was NOT arrested for telling people to read the book.
The "inciting a riot" was him running around the room telling people to fight back against the cops who were simply trying to make him leave at the request of the people who paid for the forum. NOTHING happened to him for telling people to read a book.
patrickpitman 3 years ago
I think when he was pinned down by about 4 cops his exact words wore "Please somebody help me!"
Not "Everybody, RIOT and FIGHT!"

I am sick and tired of people saying shit about cops who havent even walked an inch in their shoes. I dont care what you say he did start a riot!! And he needed to be subdued. dude, take it easy. It was sarcarm. If you blow a 0.4BAC while driving, you should probably be shot. that's why I said "tase him again, bro"
rickrocker 4 years ago
Watch a longer video. He did NOT incite riot, he was asking logical questions that need answering, and he was also standing up for many Americans who want answers. This was a good oportunity for these questions to be asked, and the guy took advantage. Also, he did NOT assult the police officers, there were 6 on him, what, they had to tase him too? I'm sorry, but there is no justice in this. Wake the fuck up.
ThFoil 4 years ago
You americans have a strange definition of racist. It seems if you are not happy with something its "Racist", That man broke at least three laws.
Refusing Police, Ensighting a Riot, and Public Disobedience.
Those Officers are totally within their rights to taser him.
joshtopcop 4 years ago
man that was a Q and A i am a candian and tell me something how is he trying to ensight a riot and public disobedience asking a question and trying to inform ppl that is the beauty of freedom of speech is it not..... it is no worse then what the do in parliment maybe you should watch that for 10 minutes they try to ask questions but all they do is yell at eachother something like this.... he did not do anything wrong lets get that straight now
sensfan07 4 years ago
I'm all for freedom of speech and in some ways you are right, you should be able to ask questions with out being arrested. However, there are cops and staff members standing by him before he asked the questions. Also consider the fact that he started to become very aggressive in his approach, you are asking for trouble especially when you have a senator in the room.
mustange550 4 years ago
i can see how you can say that dont get me wrong... however in freedom of speech you are allowed to make comments and questions freely aslong as if you are not physically doing something to another person. now with that being said what is difference between this and ppl in the government yelling at eachother. a senator should be able to react better to the situation at hand i am sure they get alot of angry ppl calling their office.
sensfan07 4 years ago
True. However if I heard correctly Kerry was trying to anwser his question(s) but he just kept talking and talking. It seems as though he was trying to start a fuss to me. Agian this is important to point out there were cops and staff already standing next to him before he asked the questions
mustange550 4 years ago
Just becuase we have freedom of speech does not mean I can go out and yell what ever I want on the street, otherwise I may just be disturbing the peace. Freedom of speech is used to freely, and if you ask me freedom of speeach does not mean get out of control
mustange550 4 years ago
yea you are right, it just seems kinda hypocritical to me they do one thing but expect ppl to act another. by the way it is about time i found someone on here that responds maturely and without sayin no you are wrong and puts the other person down. kinda like seeing it two ways just thought i would point that out.

You're right. Short of winning the lottery, all wealthy people are owned by some level of government. For the 50% of the population who support and endorse EVERYTHING George Bush does remember this: The laws that he enacts and more importantly the attitude and mood that his party conveys (ie. super conservatism, repression of differing view points via the media, etc..) will result in one day, the tables being turned politically speaking.
riffgrinder 4 years ago
I find it upsetting that most people who support Bush take a great amount of glee in wielding a big fascist hammer at anyone who doesn't goosestep right along with their way of thinking. When the Democrats are in the Whitehouse, what if they employ the same thought process and tactics? What if they dominate the media and stifle any opposition to their partyline thinking?
riffgrinder 4 years ago 2
I wonder if that will change your mind about the right to free speech and the right to ask questions and voice your opinions? People must ALWAYS question authority, including the Police, who are NOT ALWAYS right. The minute that people are scorned or ridiculed by their peers for having the courage to ask questions, we are through as a free society. The minute that people are afraid to ask questions for fear of being arrested we are done.
riffgrinder 4 years ago
Do not ridicule this young man for what he did. Applaud him. I wonder how many of you would have had the courage to do what he did? I wonder how many of you would just sit there, shut up, do what you're told and never question authority.

First off I KNOW it's not true that 50% of the poulation support ALL of what bush says. It's not even true that 50% of the poulation even are Repeublicans. second, when you stated he represses different takes of the media, every politician does that sometime, somewhere. xxvenomous, were you not aware of the kid resisting the police as they were trying to escort him out of the room? were you totally oblivious to him trying to fight his way out of police force?? don't take his side... he probably wouldnt have been arrested if he didnt resist and act like a total douchebag.

The police are the ones who escalated this to a violent scene NOT the student.
godsarefunny 4 years ago
Funny, the reason you give is totally contrary to the police's reason. The police cite "attempting to incite a riot" as the arresting charge. Get a fucking clue.
ArrowHead83 4 years ago
How is "being arrested for inciting a riot" and "attempting to incite a riot" completely contrary. Who should get the clue here? You're funny.

I wasn't responding to your comment. I was responding to the one one level up.

In other areas its forbidden.
