  • That's what happens when an eraser decides he wants to fly :D

  • Bigger airplane and start at the edge of the table.

  • 0:48 FAIL!

  • This is great! :( @ the ending though.

  • @ELS01X Thanks ELS01X. Yes, Eraser Man is a bit of a sore loser.

  • MY BUTTERFLY NOOOO (EPIC AND LONG BRAVO)

  • Hey you dumb fucking retard, it has been almost a week and you still cannot download Anim8or. And then you have the nerve to say you can make something like this. You are a dumb fucking mongo clown. And stay away from the neighborhood kids you damn sick child molester.

  • @TomRoykouffVideos You said "like these" which implies that you dumb retard. If you cannot download a free program from the internet you ARE a fucking retard.

  • Hey Tom did you see the video the 2BagBoys made you on how to make slime? It's pretty cool!

  • Hi tom

  • awesome!

  • Absolutely blown away by this display of remarkable talent with Anim8tor. Thanks for sharing this. This is a real encouragement to keeping pushing forward with learning the program. Also, must add, very entertaining work. Thanks!

  • Thank you cmfwt for your comment, very much appreciated. Although this was technically challenging, of all the animations I have done this was the most fun and I almost miss working on it. I am considering a sequel... just so I can work with the little bloke again!

  • xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD epic man

  • i downloaded this but i have no clue how to use it!

  • I'm not sure what you mean...

  • haha i mean that it is very hard to use and i'm only 11!

  • ha, i learned it at 11. try Cinema 4D, and tell me whats hard. Then again, C4D is professional. I have yet to maser that.

  • oh o k thanx is t a trail?

  • C4D? na, i dont think so, its too complex anyway. Anim8or is what you need to learn if you want to animate. Its by far the simplest to learn, and free.

  • lmao ok

its still hard so forget it

i think im gonna stick with pivot :(

  • that cool and the facial expressions are hilairious did you use seperat models for the texture changes?? cos if you did that must have bin time consuming.... overall awesome vid

  • Not quite. The faces are each on a transparent plane sitting just in front of the blank face area. They are all in the same place, but their visibility is controlled by keyframes, so only one is visible at a time. If all planes were visible all the facial expressions would be superimposed on each other.

  • nice little animation

  • I use anim8or myself, and I was wondering how you do his facial expressions

  • can you help me out beacause i can use anim8or atall so could you give me phew tips [=

  • WOW ! This is great ! I can't believe you made this with Anim8or.

    Awesome job !

  • Awesome! It could have taken hours to render the whole movie. I will give you a 5 star rating.

    P.S:

Do you know about the music? I know it is The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra but what kind of song title is this?

  • I believe it is one of their "Hooked on Classics" medleys.

  • awesome and funny

  • A fresh sense of originality I enjoyed!

  • lol butterfly got PWND

  • i found it hilarious when it tripped over the paper clip LOL, dunno why. AWESOME

  • Wonderful. I love the shadow of the butterfly.

  • realy realy realy original and funny! LOL!

  • Not bad at all :)

  • great video!!!!

  • Great! How did you make the textures on the face of the rubber changing?

  • Each face was created as a separate plane using a transparency map, so it's kinda like each face is drawn on clear film. Each piece of film (each face) is positioned in the same space in front of the blank eraser, and all but one at any given time have their visibility set to "off". By switching visibility on and off for each face the expressions can be changed. It's easy to control but expressions cannot be morphed one to the other.

  • -Unless you made shitloads of mixed expressions

  • Indeed, that would work. In fact, just two intermediate or "tweener" expressions between each fixed one would probably help, but if you work out how many you would need, with the current count of about 15 expressions, it's something like... I dunno... lots!

  • indeed excellent job. Most accomplished all things considered.

  • Pretty good animation. Also pretty funny too, I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks!

  • awsome man, i loved it. i am gunna try anim8or

  • cool

  • awsome dude

  • Amazing, Best, Bettter Than Duffy, Duffy 2.

  • that poor butterfly... cant sleep tonight

  • Heh heh! I'm sure you'll get over it! After all, it wasn't a real butterfly, just a collection of points, lines and faces!

  • that was amazing! i cant imagine how tough that is. i give u props for that man.

  • Hahaha! Yeah, you show that butterfly, Mr. Eraser! Poor guy...after all that work, he still couldn't get into the air.

Excellent piece of animation here. Loved the expressions on the eraser's face. And the music worked really well, as well.

  • Excellent animation!

  • I think this was a Great animation!!! I can feel your pain, this animation is long and some parts are very complex with a software like this(the paper folding motion, and the placment of objects in particular). Wonderful job, although this software has it's cons, you've shown the possibilities are endless. Wonderful!!! : )

  • Thanks jakebybody, very kind of you. The most difficult parts by far were having Eraser Man pull the stapler loader back (without inverse kinematics this was horrendously complicated) and having him hold the needle to pry out the staple from his belly. But I still really enjoyed making this, and I learned an enormous amount about Anim8or and 3D animating in general.

  • Poor butterfly...

Hi! I'm an Anim8or user too. Good job, bravo!

  • Thanks DavMawey. Yes, the butterfly has attracted quite a lot of sympathy!

    Happy Anim8ing! Cheers.

  • Once again, you have pushed the limits of what can be accomplished in the anim8or software. I have forwarded an art/animation instructor I know your videos to show the potential of this wonderfull software. Great direction, method, and animation. Keep animating.

  • Cheers Skyfinity. I am more than happy for my stuff to be used to help promote Anim8or, and encourage people into the field. Although there were moments where, in the production of this animation in particular, some of Anim8or's deficiencies become a bit of a pain (the lack of inverse kinematics in particular) I still thoroughly enjoyed making it.

  • Great Work Ensoniq5 can't wait for the tut in the next mag.

    falloffalot

  • wow, this is awesome!

  • Stunning! Really well done.

  • Well-animated, very clever method for the facial expressions. But the ending was pretty disturbing...(and funny)!

  • No, the expressions are all on separate planar objects with transparency maps, and I used the visibility parameter in scene mode to change the expressions. The only place scripts are used in this animation are to control the rotation of the clock hands and the spinning staples.

  • Oh wow that was great, nice job. Did you use any scripts to create the eraser's expressions?
