idles too low? says who? wtf do they know, anyways i like the way your 97 sounds i have a 2005 and its injected so it just wont ever sound like that!! id much rather have a carb..
@obiwan5150 thanks man, i appreciate it! i like the injection bikes too. they each have their ups and downs. nothin sounds like a carb engine, but nothin cranks like a FI engine...lol
this bike is COOOOLD natured!! my buddies with FI harleys will be warmed up and ready to ride about the time i can finally cut off the choke! lol
almost 10 minutes between first crank and take off... the rest of the day, its fine to at least...but the sound is worth it to me tho. wish they still made em carbed
@obiwan5150 It IS idling too slow. Maybe they do know something you don't, like oil pressure drops to shit at such a low RPM, spark plugs may foul, hard to start and off-idle throttle response suffers.
@Hammered001 please read the comments before posting. you would see that your statements have already been addressed. oil pressure has been adressed by a high pressure oil pump. spark plugs do not foul. high end plugs and a very hot ignition solve this problem. no harder to start than any other carb harley. and throttle response is more than fantastic. its a drag bike for the most part... as i have said before many times, FULLY BUILT...not pieced together. and a side note, its idling HIGH here.
@Hammered001 idling too slow? what does that even mean? bikes not moving so how is it slow? anyway i think maybe you THINK you know more than you actually do! sorry to break the news to you, maybe its you that are slow? hmmm something to think about anyway..
Fuck all these haters. That bike is sick. You've built a freaking monster man. I don't get jealous of peoples shit easy, and I don't own a bike anymore, but that thing is just amazing. Makes me want a HD bad... But I used to have a Crotchrocket. I'm pretty sure that's breaking some rules somewhere if I go from a rocket to a harley! haha, thanks for the video man, and tell the haters to speak up. A loaping engine makes some noise!
@CrudeDude no, im not blocking you, (yet) because you raised a good point and an even better conversation topic. speed does kill, no doubt, but what kills even more riders is complacency. when you loose the fear/respect of the bike and the risks involved with riding, is when things stand a higher chance of going south. nevertheless, when on a bike, you MUST pay attention to cars, as a bike is EASILY hidden by the pillars. loud pipes save lives. IMO. if you can hear it b4 u c it, youre safer.
@turbomaxx i have had both. some of them at the same time. crashed a GSX-R 750 because i was stupid and rode on a day when there was ice on the ground...found some...lol broke my femur and totaled the gsxr. couple months later, i was back on my harley. Whether its a moped, a hayabusa, or a harley, doesnt matter, as long as youre on 2 wheels!
i ride my harley with several friends who ride crotch rockets, they ride just like i do. smart (now...lol) if they wanna act a fool, they do so on a track.
@LeadSlinger89 Yeah, doesn't matter what you ride, gotta be smart. Too many people just don't get that. But I agree, they're all fun! 2 wheels and the wind beats any car or truck I've had.
Is that bad for oil pressure? I have an 05 with a 103 kit and debated some sick cam but didnt do it. However it is winter again and I just stumbled upon this. pros and cons in your opinion with a cam like that?
@smittyjohnd its all about the setup. i took this bike to a HD tech and told him to make it fast...and he did...i took it back and told him make it hit a lick...and he did...lol
the 27 is the biggest you can go on these evo motors before you start tearing shit up, so as long as you stay around there, you should be fine. but i would NOT do it myself. i would have a HD tech do it. if you live in the north GA area, i can set you up with the fella that did mine.
@BigRed40299 thanks! its not a huge change really, i mean the BIGGEST issue is the surge at low speeds. tryin to idle forward is HARD! when the cam hits, it lurches forward and will almost make you drop the bike, so you really have to ride the clutch and work the throttle to keep it smooth. the biggest change i have noticed on the bike is changing the pully on the front. HUGE difference!!! about 125 is all she has on top end, but she will get there FAST! it will try to pull you off at WOT. lol
@CrudeDude most harleys are slow. no doubt about that. this one however will hit 120 in 1/8 mile.and i rather prefer the retro style. ill handling? you have NO idea...the bigger harleys like this and the road king are a real workout to drive. it will push you out of the road if you take a curve too fast, and since this one is lowered, you are CONSTANTLY draggin the footboards in curves...you do NOT ride this bike to the mountains. ever. lol
but to each his own. we each build ours to suit us.
@CrudeDude nope. 120 is all shes got. but she gets there fast. all in the front pully. you can build these for top end of bottom end. mine is alllll bottom end.
just a friendly warning, next heckle gets you blocked...
@lespaulr6 yeah. i bet yours will sound like this. but mine actually drives too. fuck off, enjoy the block. failure to read and comply with my one and only rule on this channel always results in blockage
new rule. since people have no idea what manners are, and since every fat ass 12 year old is an internet badass, i will only be leaving polite comments on my page. if you like the video, click the like button. if you dont, click the dislike button. if you have a question, leave a comment. if you wanna bitch, then fuck off and die. if you post hate, your comment will be deleted, and you will be blocked. end of story. but i will answer polite comments with equal politeness and respect. thanks
@dixiedragracer69 yeah, you could. but when you get your idle turned down low enough to count the pistons like my bike is doing here, yours is gonna shut off and more than likely seize the engine, since your shit isnt set up to idle this low and you would be getting no oil to the tops. it cracks me up, all these jealous ass pansies that watch this video chokin their fuckin lap furby, wishin they could have this bike, then post a bitchy ass comment pretending that they know more than me.
@hugeford350 im going to be honest, i really dont know alot on whats done. all i know is its an Andrews 27 cam. thats the biggest you can go in an evo motor without doing some MAJOR modifications, and even then, you loose a LOT of reliability, which was NOT an option for me. fuel sucks on this bike...at 100 miles you BETTER be looking for a gas station! i will try to get in touch with the HD tech that built it and see if he will give the the list. i just told him make it fast, and make it lope
@starbuck680 yes i do. and no, its not about to stall, actually its idling a bit high here. thats what a big cam does, it drops the idle way down. i assure you, this is how this bike (and any bike with a large cam) is supposed to sound.
@starbuck680 that's it. thats why they put the bike out with such a small cam. those of us who live for the slow loping idle can toss in a big cam, and those who dont care for it, or who don't have the engine knowledge to do so can just leave it alone and be happy with the fact that they are on 2 wheels. after all, that's what its all about at the end of the day. same with mustangs and other muscle cars. my corvette cams hard too. too hard to drink from a glass in the car with it idling. thanks
