Build a NEW Hall of Fame for this guy! The Blonde BOMBER Was a true KING. Irreplaceable. High Noon fuckin' R0CKED! LISA P. is a MONSTER on Drums!! GOD Bless Ya ROCKIN' DOG!!!
Ronnie and I grew up in the same little north Texas town...Waxahachie. This is a great clip of an exceptional performer doing what he did best...Thanks for sharing. Everyone enjoy!
What a great showman! All the band smiling, having fun. That "shake that thing" move the rhythm guy did. Ronnie even channeled Larry Collins there at the end.
Burnin'.The real thing instead of an imitation.I saw him at theStar Club in Atlanta.Just awesome energy.Thank God he came back.He gave us all a second chance to realize how good he was and leave us some more great music and these wonderful performances.Even at 64 he died too young. But before he left he sealed his place in R&R history and obviously had a damn good time doing it.That's one awsomely happy dude in that video.Ronnie could leave this world a satisfied man.
I had the pleasure of seeing Ronny Dawson's his last concert at the "Lone Star Round Up" in Austin Texas with the very band members of "High Noon" seen on the Conan O'brian Show!
Thanks for posting this rare piece of history!!!!
Ronnie Dawson! Super! Qué suerte tuve de verlo varias veces en directo antes de su desgraciada muerte. Sus discos y sus directos sin duda de lo mejor de la historia del Rockabilly! Pura energía!
Thank you so much for posting this. I've been looking for it for a long time. This takes me back. Funny how young Conan looks. I missed a chance to see Ronnie in Dallas while I was there, but I did get to watch a couple songs in the doorway of a club in Salt Lake City, because I was too young to go inside. Ronnie was a total showman, what a guy. Probably the rockinist cat to have a comeback later in life, it helps that he was pretty young in the 50s. Again, thank you so much!
1 comment? I just discovered this tonight through an interview video on youtube with Ken Mottet from the Chicago area. First off this band is completely tight and rocking here. This guy Ronnie is the real deal! This really reminds me of Carl Perkins vocal style who in my opinion really had the country and swing in the music.
Thank you Carol for posting this and thanks to Mr. Mottet.
