im pretty sure the exact numbers were 1032 Hp from motor trends test. you can go to there website and watch more videos on it.

I think that vid is from motor trend... they tested a few american tuner cars... that had a little over 1000 hp. the hennessey viper is the only thing they tested with more at 1100 hp

its one of the little times ive ever seen a car peel out on a DYNO. the last one i saw was a skyline rip all 4 of its wheels creatin about 1125 hp!

what kind of transmission then would you put on a 1000hp car? or is it only designed to last an hour on the dyno before the gears are ripped to shreds?

Well, the C6 corvettes don't have a regualr transmission. It is actually a transaxle on the rear end so it is probably just the stock one beefed up. There are plenty of 100 HP cars out there. Most drag GM based drag cars use TH400s or Powergildes built for such things. Lingenfelter cars are the best you can buy. Most of the Corvettes he does are 800HP+.

A beefed Temec T-56. Same one in the viper and the long gone F-bodies. Damn thing thrives on slick equipped drag cars putting out over 500 HP to the wheels. And that vette re leaved the strain on the trans by spinning its' wheels. That Trans will be perfectly fin unless someone gets smart an puts some stickier tires on it.
