  • against whaling !!!

  • .."Greenpeace misleads the public"?!!

  • whaling is not on trial. Two fools who stole whale meat are on trial.

  • Japan's government is Just as fucked up like killing innocent whales lol...

  • i really hope for the best for the tokyo two.

i hope this teaches lots of people that not all of japan are into this whale meat scandal as well. not all of them are bad!

but they really should stop. they're giving their own country such a bad reputation for something which people barely eat. its understandable that some people live off of the pay they get from whaling, but its wrong, and they should understand that its harder for whales to reproduce, compared to farm animals.

  • @serenityflower1 Same! And that's exactly what I thought. As bad as it sounds, I'm glad it was two Japanese men that did this - and were prosecuted for it - only because it does show Western countries that not all of Japan, in fact only the minority, support whaling.

  • Haha, i kinda thought japan was going to react like that, well, have fun eating your 2000% over regulations mercury-filled whale meat what causes over 40 known diseases, including internal bleeding and such, all for sake of fucking whaling. Personaly id love to see whole whaling fleet sinking into depths of ocean along its crew who certainly know that they are doing wrong and would have other choices.

  • Crime involving the Japanese Government indeed,

but there are many other crimes the Japanese Government is involved in or at least is covering-up.

Getting arrested here in Japan is tough, 3 to 4 weeks in Jail for no reason and no phonecall allowed, family members might never find out, also with torture and forced false statements, this is the law here.

  • In Japan like any Capitalist country there is not freedom at all, but we have a Democratic Fascism around the globe, is so popular you didn't know that?

  • Please, can anyone tell me if there is a JAPANESE language version of this video and if so, where to find it?

  • Great Video! Shame about 'only time will tell' bit though.

  • join sea shepherd if you want to actually see something done about the whales. Greenpeace is for talkers and posers, i feel for the 2 guys in jail but you can't do much for the whales in there!

  • Even today, Japanese continue to lie about their ww2 war crimes in China, saying they never happened.

If the Japanese would lie about these ww2 human massacres in China, it is certainly no suprise they would lie about whale huntings.

It is in the Japanese nature to lie, then and now !

  • We need more people from Japan like this man to step up and publically let their outrage be heard.

  • will greenpeace be heading to the oceans for the next whale slaughter???

  • Great work, Greenpeace. We support you and these men that are being wrongly accused.

  • what is your source?

  • japan can sell their psp's and shit like that to u ... how is revealling the truth abt those japanese liars gona harm their community? besides japan hav a history of lying ... think u should hav a history lesson on NANKING.

  • Greenpeace isn't perfect and there are some extremists within the organization but I think it's unfair to say that Greenpeace ruined all Inuit communities.

  • well they sure as hell didn't help!

  • @USALiberal

looks like you and the illegal whalers are "perfect".

can't play the race card or the "japan bashing" like you do with sea shepherd any more?

  • That what I call heros!!!

  • No 'precaustionary' policy on No.1 cause of global warming?

Global Warming - Did You Know?

    by SupaM0o

Don't lie and, most of all, save this earth.

Be green, if you are 'green'.

Whale meat is green protein alternative as you know.

  • so hold on.. did they get released? THis is bullshit.. We gotta help them

  • GreenpeaceVideo : Respect

    Good JOB

    BON Travail

    Gut Job

  • What is abhorrent about killing whales and dolphins is that even the nearsighted acknowledge their inteligence, beauty and social skills. Humans see ourselves in this majestic giants of the sea

    .

  • Japanese government: I was going to buy a Toyota but now I am not. This really pisses me off.

Let these good people go and clean up your own act you criminals.

  • please stop! isn't the video evidence enough?

  • Did Japan find a loophole to eating people yet?

  • Good question...

  • I live on the coast of australia and love watching the whales swim up and down the coast. These bastards must be stopped!

  • Shame of Japan...

  • Interesting video. Yeah of course corruption and abusing taxpayers money is bad but hey what's new in Japan where the same party is in charge since the end of WW2? I wonder what will happen next... Good work Greenpeace! Keep it up!

  • I hate whalers.

  • :'(

    Yup poor whales.

  • HAHAHAH "green peace misleads the public"!!!!! what a pile of hypocracy!

  • poor whales

  • Great work Greenpeace. Keep the pressure on.

    Lalita

  • That is an abomination! Those poor men. They were very brave and I hope they can get out of this mess.

    Such corruption, it is unforgivable.

  • Noob jappaners >:(

  • Good story. Corruption in the government is nothing new, it's just a piss off when 2 peoples freedoms are at stake. I'm going back to being a vegetarian, maybe I will go vegan,

  • greenpeace dont mention in vid if whales are at risk. its as if they want us to assume they are...i would like credible stats on the current state of whale populations.

  • they are at risk tho. with all the whaling and pollution and global warming they are deffinately in danger

  • thats nice. but i want hard data. numbers that show that they are in decline and research which shows that whales are cruitial to the functioning of aquatic ecosystems

  • Try Google, there's stacks of research and learn a bit about ocean ecology, of course whales are part of the global marine ecology. Reduce or remove the population of any marine (or terrestrial) species outside of the environment's natural carrying capacity and you're effecting the ecology.

  • i'll give google a try. thnks, but im not saying whales arnt part of marine ecosystems. im saying that if whales dissapear i want to know if there will be great chages in composition of marine fauna. eg. if humans dissapear no great faunal rearrangements will occur on land. but if ants disappear than there will be enormous repercussions across many levels of a food chain.

  • This is a generalisation, but it depends on how sweeping or fundamental the role that the organism plays (i.e. ants and bees). However, this has nothing to do with the intrinsic value of any organism. Whales are yet another awesome part of the story of life on earth. Many whale species have been pushed close to the brink. For their sake and ours, we should permit their numbers to be restored and let nature flourish unbridled by the shameful and unnecessary slaughter depicted here.

  • We cannot know the full repercussions of the extinction of any species, because we don't fully understand the ecological roles of any species.

  • Whales, like apex predators such as sharks, are incredibly important to biodiversity and the marine ecosystem. If you remove any one of these, knock-on effects are felt throughout the entire ecosystem. Look at the alarming rise of jellyfish numbers as a symptom of this. 75% of the worlds fisheries are now depleted or in terminal decline, and if we keep the mentality of "it's just whales, they aren't THAT important" then it won't be long until the oceans are completely overrun with jellyfish.

  • fish stocks are going down cause of overfishing, not because predators are removed from the sea. I know this, I work in a dockyard. and its actually a myth that the whole ecosystem is ruined if few species are removed. so many animals went extinct in the last 100 years and nothing much changed.

  • No, you are wrong.

Didn't you hear about the very serious changings in marine eco systems?

We need every specie to stabilize the eco systems, believe me, I studied biology.

  • Ok Mr scientist. Where do you have your statistic from?

  • Wish I was cool like you.

  • wow, I thought Japan was nice. But I'll be damned if they call THAT research. There's no way in hell that's reaserch. I know research, I'm going to school to be a zoologist, that is piracy!!

  • I smell corruption....!

  • Regardless of whether one is against or for whaling, lying to the public is wrong. I think the tax payers of Japan have a right to know they're supporting the whaling business when many of them don't even eat whale. Not only that, but much of the meat is stolen! WTF.
