  • You can use G major (parent of C lydian) until it changes to either E flat major or G phrygian. The two small changes after that are G lydian Or D major and then G mixolydian or C major.

  • I think it's in Cm (play C pentatonic over it)

  • @megamixmovies no its G Major/E Minor

  • @Void222X okay tanks

  • @megamixmovies The actual key scale of this song is C Mixolydian. That's the same thing as an E Aeolian (natural minor) but if you play starting from an E it might sound a little off because even though all the notes of those scales are the same, the C is the root and not the E. Hope I helped

  • @Sewerrattz

You mean D mixolydian. Either that or you mean C lydian.

  • @Fluffypopcicle My mistake...The key scale of this song is C Lydian. Which is also G Major, A Dorian, B Phrygian, (C Lydian), D Mixolydian, E Aeolian (Natural minor), Or a F# Locrian. Even though these modes all contain the same notes, it's best to play the C Lydian so as to keep the C note as your base note. However when it comes to the solo Joe himself has said that he plays from the E Aeolian positions. He does however Augment and Diminish a few notes a couple of times just to us as accents.

  • @Sewerrattz

Yeah. I also screwed up and said mixolydian for some reason. I think there is something in the general guitarists brain that wants to say mixolydian instead of lydian.

  • amazing feel to this instrumental, I love playing guitar to this song.

  • Great, this is my favored song. thanks, thumb up.

  • Great BT, many thanks.

  • supercool choiceness excellent work sir muchos garcias !!!!!!!!!!!

  • base qlia bonita

  • G scale LOL Or C... duno °L°

  • what mode is he using in his scales when he solos?

  • @Bowl2010Man The bulk of the verses is C Lydian. Play E minor over it, same notes.

  • @minorthreat141 thanks guy

  • @Bowl2010Man Mostly C major scale with +4th (F#). I am sure this is a mod and it does have an actual name though all those years of music theory practice and mod names still elude me lol.

  • @reandor Raised 4th is named a Lydian mode, but the names aren't imported when you know the intervals like yourself...have a nice jam!

  • Joe is the BEST!
