i think since derek is young they put him in the middle of the hip hop dance cuz usually its maks who has the center but this time they put derek in the center to draw some attention away from the other guy dancers who doesnt dance hip hop as well as derek...... and boy did it work! all my attention was on him.....

I'll be performing to this song in January 2012!! I'm doing a routine that is completely different from this one and is the whole length of the whole song, not like this one where it is cut. I love this song and this performance! But I can't wait to see the whole finished project of what I am doing! I can't wait to perform it in front of others!!! :D

Actually I believe that the reason the choreographer chose Derek Hough to be in the forefront for the boys' hip hop section, is because he is the best in that particular style. All the DWTS pros are amazing, but they're obviously latin or ballroom pros first... So I'm not terribly surprised that Derek's cleaner hip hop moves brought him in front. If you watch other pro dances, he and mark tend to always do the hip hop style portion....

To the person that sad Derek Hough is "cocky and rude" and that freakin Louis Van Amstel is "so kind, giving, and helpful" WOW have you got your facts wrong. Derek is a great guy on and off the camera. Louis is the one that's had controversy in the past about being such a jerk. And it's just a fact that Derek is one of the best. All the pros are amazing, that's why they're pros. But Derek just has something the others don't. As does Mark. And no he has *not* always been given good partners.

It's a shame that Derek gets all the attention in this dance. People are in love with him just because he always gets the best celebrities and makes it far every season. If only people would know that in real life, he is a bit cocky and rude. He's nothing like others pros who barely get any attention such as Louis and Ashly. They are both so kind, giving, and helpful in real life. And Louis is far more talented than Derek.

@jww047 Best celebs like Shannon Elizabeth right? Jennie Garth (I loved her though)? Before Brooke Burke, models were a joke on the show, and Lil' Kim wasn't expected to do as well as she did. I will concede that he has recently gotten some good partners, but he has also worked magic with all of his partners. It took a lot of genius to choreograph a tango to "Pretty Woman," a fifties paso, and amazing dances for a celebrity with a lot of injuries. And from what I hear, he's pretty nice.

Derek is such a versatile dancer ... notice that while the other guys were making mistakes and having trouble doing the movements characteristic of street dance he's just letting it rip ... you wouldn't have known he dances ballroom so gracefully. Go Derek! We will miss you at DWTS but I look forward to your movie!

And not that they don't look amazing together but why is the shortest guy (Damien) dancing with the tallest girl (Edyta)? Especially with the much taller Tony and the smaller Chelsie dancing together.

If you hadn't noticed, each professional male had a different style of clothes wear; open shirt, ½open, tie, no tie, full button & tie, etc... as with the women. This way everyone is the same dancing, but each is different with the same clothes.
