  • This Rag is THE BOMB !!!! I'm going to see if I can arrange a theatre organ version !!

  • Amazingly played...but isn't it in c-sharp minor?...It could be the recording, but i definitely heard d-minor...

  • @C3P0meetsData I think you're right. The first note should be A, G#, C#.... But it also looks like her's playing A#, A, D. My guess is that he just wanted an easier key. :-P

  • @LorgonJortle

I've added a link to the sheet music in the description area. Apparently, Rachmaninoff 's only comment to Cobb upon hearing it was, "Nice rag, but you've got the wrong rhythm."

  • @rtpress Hah. Thanks for the sheets. I love the Prelude, and I think this is most definitely a worthy rag. Well, and Wesley is great!

  • @C3P0meetsData

Very astute! Yes, Rachmaninoff's piece is "Prelude in C# Minor," but Cobb wrote "Russian Rag" in D minor.

  • Wow!! you Rock Wesley!! ;-)

  • Man this kid is great. Look out Adam Swanson, you have got some stiff competition out there now:-))

  • As Tom Warner put it once, "Wes is Awesome!!"

  • You are too damned right , he is awesome

  • Wonderful!

Mr. Reznicek is a piano force to be reckoned with! 5 STARS!

  • Haunting for sure... The more it's played, the more it sparkles!

  • Bravo! I admire anyone who can play ragtime with skill. And this young man certainly can do that. And he looks cute, too. A beautiful performance, Wesley.

  • Wesley goes to my sisters' school and his sisters are in my pre'algebra class (their twins) Wesley just preformed in the jazz band at school and when a slow song came up he looked bored....great job wesley

  • Wesley, you really bring it! I enjoy your all-out, no-holds-barred, breakneck style!

  • good job!

  • I Like His Version, Especially The Added Notes.

  • Wow! That's amazing...good playing!

  • I finally got this to play. I have been hoping to hear a video of Wes' later than The Billiken Rag. Though I think he actually did a more polished job on The Billiken, this shows a lot of advancement in some ways. Hope he might try Hot House Rag by Paul Pratt. Wally Rose did a superb recording of it many years ago. Will be hearing Wes next week at the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia.

  • Actually, upon rehearing, this is a haunting performance!
