  • The guy who says "Down on skid!: His name is Danny John Jules. Look him up.

  • @Craverofchocolate that isn't Danny John Jules. He shows up a little later as one of the singers on the street when Seymour finds the plant.

  • @TwistedStarlight Well, which one is he? I keep hearing that he's in this movie. I think that was either him, or the guy singing with the lady right after.

  • your not a slub

  • That black guy at 2:13 is my new friend :)

  • the woman at the beginning of this song i would love to find her. she has such an incredible strong voice!!1

  • @london399 I believe that's Michelle Weeks (one of the the women from the Trio) overdubbing the older woman. Her voice is incredible.

  • @BlackstarPorpoise It's Bertice Reading.

  • Tichina ("Pam"): Better ourselves? You heard what he said, "BETTA OURSELVS?" Mister when you from SKID ROW ain't no such thing!

    YO SHE KILLED IT!!!!!! :)

  • i was looking for real shit and i found it at skidrow 902911.com and it was true ,you wont belive what happens over a pices of rock cocain,

  • 2:14

Why do black guys always get the good voices?

  • 2:16

Why do black guys always get the good voices?

  • Dunno why the FG crew decided to parody Somewhere That's Green but have yet to do something with this one, it's by far the best song in the movie ^.^

  • @Truthiness231 Herbert didn't have any incentive to sing this song. I know that they often do really random songs, but in that case Somewhere That's Green fit with Herbert's fantasies.

    I'm probably over-thinking your comment, though. =]

  • @DeltaKilo3 Yeah I put no thought into it to begin with, so yeah you're probably over-thinking it.

I do hope they find a use for this one somewhere. It's quite clear Seth loves his musicals and he's bound to use plenty more in the future.

  • for me, it's a tie between this song and feed me for my favorites song from this film/show.

  • The bag lady is my favourite part AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN ACTUALLY SING HER SOLO. :(

  • The black guy @ 2:13 is the best part of the entire movie, no doubt.

  • Comment removed

  • i love the black guy's voice at 2:11

  • @QueenMJade89 Yes, every man and woman should.

  • Hell YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm willing to bet money on the fact that the guy with an epic voice is Levi Stubbs.

  • @baronessdouglass It's Danny John Jules.

  • This song still rings true today.

  • I've watched this before, but I've only just now realized how DEEP this song, along with the part of the movie, is. With the fence and all that... I also listen to the song frequently.

  • damm, i love the chord change at 1:00, so untypical

  • sing it child ;)

  • the black guy at 2:13 has an epic voice.

  • @XWiseXGuy I ALWAYS said that he was serious!!!!

  • @XWiseXGuy He sure does, I wish he got more than 3 words to sing. :( He still stole the song to me. :D

  • @XWiseXGuy OMG! I have always thought the exact same thing.

  • I absolutely Love Bertice Reading's part in the beginning her voice gives me chills

  • I sing seymour's solo at work. Helps me close up every time.

  • i love this movi3e so much!!!!!!!

  • I love the disclaimer ... "The only ones who are gaining anything from this experience is the fans who might be able to learn something by watching it and talking to other fans. Thank you." agreed

  • MAn, i know exactly how it is to live in a dead end, economically depressed area! I can truly relate to this song........Great Movie!

  • @ Alexhannah88....i couldn't agree more..

  • ugh i wanted to do this song when my choir did broadway...but no we had to do disney movies turned broadway

  • how can you not like lil shop of horrow come on you 9 eggheads if i was that plant al eat your @#$ UP

there's that lady who play's chris's mom in "Everybody hates Chris"!

  • I love Little Shop of Horrors. My high school performed it for the spring musical this year and I was lucky enough to be home for break during the week of the play.

  • I <3 Rick Romanis

  • this song is like a lot of small towns. I live in a small town, I can't wait to get out

  • 2:17..... i thought it was going to be the "thriller dance"

  • This video deceives people! I went to the slums for 5 hours and not a single one broke out into song. Instead of getting a choreographed number, I got mugged!

  • @slackerman811 ha ha ha...so funny!!!

  • @slackerman811 i belive it i think people could better them selfs but they just don't want to try i grew up poor but i didn't live downtown or a big city!

  • @army7989 I suspect you're taking that comment a bit too seriously. For the record, I grew up poor in the city and we would regularly break into spontaneously choreographed dance numbers in preparation for our battles with the Jets. Figured we'd all have broadway careers by now, but oh how the prejudice smothered our dreams...

  • @cain308 well not too seriously lol i was argreeing with you i just worded it differently becuase you have to watch what you say or people get on your case i have seen so many negative coments on every vid i see or attacking someones comment so i tried to give my opinion without possibly offending anyone i try not to piss anyone off!

  • @slackerman811 You went at the wrong time of day

  • @slackerman811 It's ironic how a user called slackerman actually went outside to the slums for 5 hours.

Still, I think it's very cool

  • @slackerman811 Lmao!!!! Same thing happened to me when I started singing this song.

  • @slackerman811 LMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa

  • @slackerman811 I take it you hate blues brothers for the same reason :-P

  • 9 people dident get out of skid row XP

  • when they sing bout getting out of here is where i feel for them..it's how i feel in my city

  • "DOWN ON SKIIIIIIIID!!!"

That guy needs a bigger solo.

  • When the older lady starts singing..brings me right back to church....YOU SING MAMA!!!

  • @helpinghands08 YESSS her voice is amazing.

  • @helpinghands08 Lol yeah, i want to go to a church like that! where do you live?

  • Those girls have mighty nice dresses for skid row, dont they?

  • Comment removed

  • 9 ppl are from skid row xD

  • DAMN TISHA CAMPBELL USED TO LOOK GOOOD!!!!

  • @eps027 Well, in this film she was only 18 and now she's in her 40's. 42 I believe.

  • @eps027 She was fine, not actually seen her now though, must be in her 40's.

  • Thumbs up if U R addicted to singing Suddenly Seymour.

  • I swear, that black guy at 2: 13 is the greatest singer of all time.

  • I remember I was 10 or 11 when I saw this with a boy I liked in school . . . the next day in music class we were singing something and I noticed he was doing that heel-taping thing to the beat lol!

  • the guy at 2:13 made me proud to be a black man lol I just wish i could sing just like him

  • Comment removed

  • omg the black guy at 2:13 was epic

  • @jcdareme One singing line and sent shivers down my spine. Beyond epic!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU KEEP ON SINGING "DOWNN ON SKIDROWWW"

  • @moex1 I have to cause I am in the production at my school in the chorus so I sing that phrase alot.

  • @moex1 Especially when I flag a cab to get to work, and they don't stop

  • R.I.P. Vincent Gardenia. We'll miss U! R.I.P. Levi Stubbs. We'll miss U!

  • 2:12 AAAAAAAH

  • when the food is slop hahaha

  • I love 3:34 - 3:50! Always gives me the creeps. :D

  • i love Tisha and Tichina's voices :)

  • 2:08

Apparently, these people felt their lines were especially important; they're just going about their day, then their line comes up and shit gets intense.

  • So. 0:18 to 0:38 are the best 20 seconds of the entire film.

  • @lestalkmorebasss I Definitely agree! It's one of my favorite parts.

  • the background people look like they are zombies at 4:20

  • 9 people who dislike this like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus

  • 9 people who liked this love Justin Bieber and Hannah Montana

  • My mother and grandparents lived in the slums of New York when this movie takes place and they got out of there, Seymour! :-) They never told me anything about man eating plants, though, lol. I love this song it's so awesome!!

  • 2:14 epic black man's one liner " Down on SKID-!" lol

  • isn't the light skinned black woman, the mom from My Wife and Kids???

  • @fOxYgUrL7781 Yes, that's the mom (Jay) from my wife and kids. The mom from Every Body Hates Chris is also one of the three ghosts. That's who they represent. The third woman, the large one, is a gospel singer. They all are very accomplished in their talents.

  • @fOxYgUrL7781 yup, but this was years before my wife and kids. She's Tifa Campbell and played on alot of things

  • Man! This is one of my favorites films. I love this movie and I tried to play it on the School when I was a child. Totaly FAIL. I was not born to became Seymour Krelborn!!!

  • that lady better sing!

  • WAS THAT ROCHELLE FROM EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS?!

  • @decemberistpart2 you bet!

  • @decemberistpart2 Yup and sveral other things. Of course this was before Everybody Hates Chris

  • The guy in the bottom right at 4:18 looks like a young Alan Cumming.

  • No its the black guy whos climbing the fence at 3:37 with the full soulful voice you will know it when you here him his voice grabs your spirit!

  • michelle weeks sang the opening to this song( the one who said sing it child, thats her voice from the old woman)

  • 9 PEOPLE LiVE DOWNTOWN

  • Does Skid Row exist?

  • @mermaidamp yes... downtown Los Angeles... I feed the homeless down there at least once a week...

  • @kkdub79 this is clearly supposed to be nyc, the cabs and the subway stairs going up and down

  • @kkdub79 U do? Is there a place where U feed the homeless?

  • @mermaidamp Skid Row is a generic term for any extremely poor neighborhood.

  • I have this movie on VHS. We don't have it on DVD yet.

  • Audrey has a boyfriend who isn't nice to her. He's a dentist.

  • awesome opening scene for a classic movie!

  • absolutely great work

  • Nazi zombies at 3:37 AAAH! run! i mean get the shotgun!

  • I LOVE the woman at 0:18 my gosh she has a voice

  • that black guy who had one line should have sung the whole song. he has an epic voice.

  • @alexhannah88 If you mean at 2:14 then Hell yes!! amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • @alexhannah88 that what i thought the first time i saw this lol

  • @alexhannah88 So should the lady in the alley with the bags OMG her VOICE <3

  • @alexhannah88 Don't worry In The Stage Version That guy usually is the Voice of the Plant, so he's not complaining over any lack of lines ;P

  • @alexhannah88

he kind of sound like bruce springstein. lol

  • @alexhannah88 totally agree with ya on that....

  • @alexhannah88 he was! I always replay it to his part XD

  • @alexhannah88 he wasn't black.....

  • @alexhannah88 at 2:13 right?

  • when my high school did this, I was one of the doo wop girls, Chiffon, & I got the "alarm goes off at 7" solo at the beginning. this is such a fun show to do, one of my favorites. =D

  • @JackieBorelli Really? Congrats! Were U nervous?

  • @mermaidamp oh yea!! ha, I'd been in choir all through jr. high & HS, but I'd never had a solo or sang in public before that (my junior year), & the fact that I was starting off this song was scary. but I pulled it off. it was so fun =)

  • This movie is so fun to watch.

    These ladies are absolutely great!!!

  • Love it when even the Homeless sing like Broadway Stars.

  • LMAO pause at 4:20 and look at the bottom right corner....its leonidas XD

  • @chocolatebear5 God I love that you pointed that out. That gave me a good laugh.

  • Comment removed

  • @chocolatebear5 That made my life, you are amazing. Thank you.

  • @chocolatebear5 LMFAO!!!!

IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD SOUND LIKE IF HE SANG "THIS IS SPARTA" RATHER THAN JUST SAYING IT! xDD

  • my fave song next to suddenly Seymour! ;)

  • ah I played the women in the begining of the song but in our version she was a young white bussiness women

  • the guy laying in the street is awesome

  • boy gina be bringing in that soprano!!!! amazing!

  • I still love this song so much :3 I adore this musical tooooo xxx

  • @lemonrind, usually that's true but in this case most of the people in this scene are actually from the original broadway production, the old lady, the mexican looking guy trhe the black guy that kicks the fence, even Audry.

  • This reminds me of the dreamgirls.

  • Tichana Arnold And Tisha Cambell <3

  • Ah, the crushing, confining, trapping horror is so musical today.

  • Hey everyone who watches this, do me a favor and check out the music video I made from this song. It's posted here as a video response. I guarantee you'll be impressed. Check it out.

  • One of silliest, but at the same time, funniest musical films i ever saw.

  • @MeBenHalpin Yes, it is funny, in a dark, twisted sort of way. Still, I can't help but notice the feeling of being trapped, desperate, and hopeless as the silliness occurs.

  • 2:09 lol at the fugly

  • Why would you want to leave skid row? Its so musical.

  • When Seymour sings his "Poor, all my life I've been..." The writing at that particular moment to me translates as if he's saying Mr. Mushnik is God If he were to ever kick Seymour out, Seymour wouldn't have a place to go, most likely he'd die. Mr. M has the power of God over the poor man.

  • I love the dude @ 2:14

  • LOL i did this play with my friends at school and now when ever we hear the word 'poor' we all go "ALL MY LIFE I'VE ALWAYS BEEN POOR..." nd we just can't stop until end of the song XD

I apologise, on behalf of all my friend to the public, but it's an uncontrollable reaction and besides... we really are a group of retards. =P

  • is this part comedy, or are most musicals like this?

  • @dravarian26 it's musical,horror,thriller,sci-fi, and comedy =^.^=

  • Comment removed

  • "Alaaaaarmmm goes off at 7...then you start up TOOOOOOWWWNNN..." Now THAT'S how you start a Song!!!

  • One of my favorite shows and anything with Ellen Greene will always be a hit. All the voices in this were great but the stage version was much more exciting!!!!!
