And everything we used was FMJs. Hell I watched a Sniper from 3/5 Marines hit a guy with the 50, decent contact and he ran 200 yards or so. Shot placement is the only way to go. I had 4 deployments to the middle east, and carried a modified m1a for one of them, but the .30cal was just not as desireable in CQB

@punahawaiipball I would never choose a 5.56 over a 7.62 for the simple fact that I absolutely hate the fact that you have no knockdown with a 5.56. The tissue damage from the 5.56 is also poor and so are the balistic characteristics. 7.62 might be heavier but you get more accuracy and the target knows they have been hit.
